First and last time I will go Sunday brunch at Caffe Florian since the hostess it is anything but inviting from. Hostess is very unprofessional, accommodating what seems her friends (go here here if you know or related to the Hostess, she'll treat you great!), seemed racist against us that we didn't understand Spanish language or understand how Sunday brunch works (I can definitely disclose my ethnicity if needed, if that matters, management please contact me if you would like feed back on my experience). We did tip $20 staff since the team was very accommodating and it was embarrassing that they were ashamed of the Hostess. Conclusion of my experience was that I was told I can sit anywhere there was open tables in the Atrium, then my guest and I was forced/told to move to less attractive table by rude Hostess since suddenly there were reservations. While my guest was gathering deliciousness at Sunday buffet bar, the Hostess informed her that it was for brunch only. "We just talked to you...you do not remember us? We are here for brunch. You just forced us to move to another table because you have reservations. We told you that it is our first time here." She replied that there are many phone calls and that we have to move. Staff embarrassed, I'm embarrassed, my guest embarrassed. All very misrepresentation of Crowne Plaza corp. as a whole.
My guest and I arrived 10:15 am March 02, 2017 (management please check who was on duty please check cameras, or actually lack there of). 2. Hostess was on phone and I was second in the line to be seated (I initially thought this place must be popular and was glad to wait my turn and be greeted). 3. When I meet said Hostess, I expressed it is my and guest "FIRST TIME HERE" and we are excited, "how does Sunday Brunch work"? Hostess professionally informed that Sunday Brunch is $42/person and "did you make made reservations. I agreed that my guest and I agree and would like to be seated. I pointed to a banquet room. Crowne Plaza Caffe Florian Hostess explained that was was for "over 5 people per table and this side is for 1 - 4 guest". I said "so... we should sit ourselves?" Very very...

Highlights were the prime rib, clam chowder, omelette station, smoked salmon platter, shrimp cocktail, oysters, and hoisin ribs. Attentive and friendly service although a bit jittery with some beverages spilled while serving.
The lows - overly salted crab legs, store-bought/pre-packaged waffles, no rice despite majority of entrees being Taiwanese inspired, and melting cheese board station sans crackers. Desserts can be skipped besides the fruit or chocolate covered strawberry.
My party enjoyed our brunch but the quality and variety of food was surprising. It was a notch below a Harrah’s style buffet, crossed with an Asian restaurant, with a dash of classic continental hotel fare. The crab legs were a major letdown being highly salted. The liege waffles passed off as freshly made ones were also amiss. However, this was balanced out with some of the other items highlighted above. Also, the endless mimosas were a nice touch for those in my party who drank. Overall the buffet needs a bit more variety in entrees apart from Asian fare, or offer rice if it is going to remain focused on that cuisine.
It’s worth a try for a special occasion and you will leave full. However, the quality needs to rise in tandem with the increasing price per...
Read moreThis place has been pretty hyped on social media, so I was pretty excited to try it out. It's conveniently located inside the Crowne Plaza in Foster City.
After checking in for our reservation, we were immediately given our table. Our waitress came over immediately and started us off with drinks and told us to get started with food.
The food itself is located on one main island with the carving and omelette station off to the side. There are also 2 smaller tables for breakfast foods. When we originally got there, the buffet area was not busy at all so it was easy to grab food.
There was a party in the private room, so as soon as those people started getting food, it was nearly impossible to figure out where to start/make a line for the buffet. Since it's a circular shape, it just felt like the line kept going around and around.
Some highlights: Prime Rib Dungeness Crab Cha Siu Pork Ribs
Overall the food is decent. I wouldn't say amazing, but definitely a good solid spot for brunch. Service was...
