As I'm writing this we are coming up on our last week here, equaling a total of three weeks of staying here. First impressions, nice hotel but not in the most convenient location(in a plaza area with other businesses). Let me say the area wasn't bad but it's in a very high trafficked area but it is close to a lot of places. The hotel is a little outdated and the rooms could use a little better cleaning. We had to switch rooms because the door to the bedroom was broken and you had to yank it open, which made for really loud noises. In our now room you can tell where they hadn't cleaned the side tables or walls. There was one day the water had shut off and we don't know why but it was for a short time.

Breakfast was pretty plentiful and had so many options. I felt some mornings were better than others but it didn't lack options. The Wednesday social was also nice. It's just a small dinner or refreshments but best to get there when it first starts otherwise, food will run out. Especially if there are a lot of families.

Pool was pretty great until it broke. For the longest time nobody had any idea when it would be up and running but they did say we could drive to their sister hotel ten minutes away and use their pool. Obviously not convenient but an option if kids are getting bored, or find a local pool and/or splash pad.

Parking was plenty until the weekend. If they have any markets or concerts going on expect to not have a place to park. Hotel doesn't have specified parking and don't care if their guests don't have a place to park, so expect to walk. We didn't realize this until our last weekend and there was a concert going on. We had to park quite a bit a ways away and walk to the hotel. I had gone up to the front desk to see what the deal was and she was quite rude. It was just a quick question and at the time nobody was standing in front of her and she very rudely said, "I am in the middle of checking someone in, so you'll have to wait." The gentleman in the pantry piped up and said he had heard it was a concert and the front desk lady looked at him and said, "Oh, are you trying to do my job now?" He apologized and I was like wow, ok. She then said, " The hotel has plenty of parking in the back." I told her there wasn't and we had to walk so I just wondered what was going on. She then ignored me after that. Kind of like she didn't really care. I went back and asked for her name(Didi Serrano), she told me really quickly and so I asked how she spelled it and she grabbed her name tag, slammed it on the counter and said, "Is there something I can help you with?" I told her nope, thanks and walked away. Maybe the hotel, on nights there are concerts, can let people know so they can be prepared for it.

Up to this point we have had a pretty decent stay. Ceiling fan was great to have, beds were comfy, pillows were comfy, housekeeping was on top of it if we needed our room cleaned up(and yes, most of the housekeepers don't speak English or very little). Front desk was always helpful and friendly until now. We'd switch hotels but at this point it's a pain to pack everything up with only a week left, plus I don't think, with our reservation, they'd allow us to cancel.

My hope is the pool will be fixed before we have to leave so we can enjoy it one last time and that I'll not have to deal with Didi again. With all the being said, I would not stay here again and would not recommend to others.

Edited to add the laundry pricing. On the wall it says 1.75 per load, the machines say 1.50 but they only accept Pay range and that charges 2.50

I would not recommend this hotel if you are staying with small children. We were in the pool when a huge group (20-30) of teenagers came and started doing cannonballs and splashing until our kids were crying and wanted to leave. Several hotel staff walked by during this and said nothing. When we went to get out, we found they had thrown their wet stuff all over our dry clothes and phones that were sitting on a table. That night we heard this same group of teenagers running up and down the halls screaming while we tried to sleep.

The next day we went to the Desert Museum and came back to regroup before dinner. Our kids were being noisy but it was 5 pm and we were only back for 45 minutes so we let it go. The front desk lady came and banged on our door asking us to be quiet and then called our room about two minutes later complaining we still weren’t quiet enough. I’ll admit we could have been quieter, but considering the time of day and the level of noise we had experienced in the hotel, it did not seem like a big deal. Also, anyone who has toddlers knows it takes more than two minutes to quiet them down. She clearly didn’t go after the high schoolers who were loud for HOURS in the middle of the night with the same ferocity.

Other reasons this isn’t good for kids: giant kitchen knives placed in the bottom drawer in the kitchen (found my two year old with one), loud music across the street in the plaza until 11 at night, and really awful breakfast. The furniture is very uncomfortable- the arm chair sits so upright that you’re tipped forward. The couch needs new stuffing. The beds are saggy and bed to be replaced and the pillows are very flat.

It also claims to be “green.” Only evidence of this is that they have recycling bins. Said recycling bins in the halls were stuffed full of garbage. All the cutlery at breakfast is disposable plastic.

Will not return. Do not recommend if...

I stayed here for 3 nights on a work trip in November 2023, on the 3rd floor. This extended-stay hotel has some really thoughtful details, environmentally-friendly options, and an ideal location.

What I loved: -Ceiling fan in the bedroom! I don't believe I have ever had one in a hotel in the U.S. -Upscale location - walk to a handful of excellent restaurants, a Trader Joe's (especially great because there is a full kitchenette in the rooms) and the Rillito Trails - miles of paved walking/running/biking trails along a wash. -Pet-friendly - bonus points for having pet items in the commissary area. -Ample parking --including for vehicles pulling trailers and/or RVs. -Clean rooms, common areas, and grounds. -Green initiatives including recycling bins in the rooms, and no single-use toiletries. -Very soft sheets!

What could use some work: -I'm not sure the air filters in my room had ever been changed - dust/debris was extending beyond the return grilles. -3rd floor ceilings desperately need attention - there were multiple drywall patches, drywall seams, and other flaws that made the property feel unkempt. -There was not a dispenser for drinking water/refillable bottles. With the other green initiatives, I was surprised Hilton has not installed a fountain yet. There was a Tupperware pitcher in the dining area with water, however it is emptied fast. -Some of the furnishings are showing their age - note the bowing in the mattress.

Overall, this was a clean and convenient extended-stay property. Breakfast is included, and please keep in mind it's not a Denny's - what is put out is what you get that day. I overheard a gentleman being a bit rude to staff as there were no "Scrambled eggs", only cheese omelettes, one morning.

Beautiful views of mountains to the north and direct access to the Rillito Trail were pleasant surprises.

I would stay here again - the positives outweigh...

Spent 11 days here. Ended well, didn’t start off so well. We had a major issue with a ceiling mounted air conditioner unit in our room. After about a day it would start raining in our room. (Like actually) so after a couple days (5) of dealing with this they finally gave us another room to move into across the hall for the rest of the stay. During the whole ordeal, I wondered what took so long to make this correction and was also informed that Management hadn’t heard about my issues over those 5 days at all. (Disappointing) BUT, in the end, as soon as management was made aware of my issues they made the room available for us to move into AND comped 3 days of our stay. Outside of the communication issue and the Air-con issues in the first room. We had a nice stay there. The amenities were nice, the patio/grill area was a nice spot to relax at night. The pool and hot tub outside were open to guests if you registered at the front desk, and the free breakfast in the morning was nice as well. Hot sandwich of the day, coffee, juices, cereal assortments, fruit, and muffins. It was everything it should have been being labeled a “Hilton” product. The maintenance staff was very nice and professional, as was the breakfast crew in the morning. Melissa at the front desk was a huge help and a pleasure to deal with at check in. Thanks to Management, Melissa and Jose for making our stay there much better than it started out.
