We chose the Staybridge because the had a small kitchen and we would be staying with our kids for a long weekend. We got the queen room with a pull out couch that accommodates four people. However, there was no bedding for the pull out. When we called the front desk, the woman was extremely rude and told us she didn't haven any. My husband went and bought some for our children at Walmart. YES, that's right, we had to buy our own bedding for our hotel stay. There were no extra rolls of toilet paper, so we had to use the lobby. When we called for extra, the same rude lady told us that there was no houseman that day, so we would have to wait for someone from maintenance to bring us some and suggested we use Kleenex in the meantime. If that wasn't bad enough, the night staff (two gentleman) seemed to have a hard time handling noise complaints in the hotel. There were several groups staying that weekend; a few baseball teams and several large families with children. These two male staff members were constantly threatening kids who were running room to room that they were going to call the cops on them, which they eventually did. Yes, we had to talk to the Franklin Police about our kids being too noisy in the hallway at 8 pm. Several other families also had visits from the Franklin Police Department that night, as the hotel was giving them room numbers of noise complaints. The only noise I heard was kids running in the hallway, which is something you just kind of expect when you stay in a hotel. We never heard crowds or music or excessive noise that would warrant police being called. It was just the icing on the cake for our stay. Those two male night staff constantly threatened families to call the police the three nights we were there. I honestly thought there had to be hidden cameras or something saying this was all a joke. I was overwhelmed by the unnecessary negative attitudes from the front desk staff. They were completely rude from the moment we arrived, and it never got better the four nights we stayed. We are IHG members and were SHOCKED that we were treated so horribly during our stay at an IHG property. We have always chosen IHG for our travel needs because of the top notch service. Someone really needs to assess the staff at this hotel. We were completely dissatisfied by the events that took place, but most importantly the level of pure rudeness by Staybridge staff. Our children did not understand how adults could be treating other people so poorly. We will never return to...
Read moreWe chose the Staybridge Suites Milwaukee Airport South, an IHG Hotel for its closeness to where we needed to be, due to hotel reviews, and because it is an IHG group hotel. We booked for 5 nights, but left after 3 nights. The first night it was difficult to sleep because of a noisy air conditioner. We reported it and the last two nights it worked flawlessly (kudos to the front desk person who called in an air conditioner engineer). The first two front desk people we encountered while there were friendly and helpful; the last two we encountered were average, did not engage or smile, and in the other case answered my question and then walked away. I never complained about anything, but here are some things I could have mentioned: 1) every morning and night, the decaf. coffee urn was either empty or cold, 2) the bananas, all three mornings, were old and bruised, 3) the room (suite) looked like it was under construction, with wall pictures taken down, and the nails and wall mollies still showing, 4) the shower/tub was dangerous, especially for the elderly or those with balance problems (no anti-slip material in the tub), 5) no hot water in the shower, due to a malfunctioning on/off handle (while there was hot water in the bathroom basin), 6) loud highway noise and motorcycles starting up in the early morning, 7) for an “extended stay” brand of hotel, there were only 3 drawers for clothes storage (plus a large closet, some of which could have easily held a drawer stack in the extra space), and 8) a small kitchen with a toaster, microwave, and coffee maker, with no complimentary start-up packs of coffee, salt & pepper, and popcorn as found in all other hotels with similar suites. In summary, while many of the staff at this hotel work hard, others seem to be untrained or simply substitutes filling in. While some of the facility weaknesses could easily be fixed (i.e., coffee and bananas), others will require more effort and in some cases capital (i.e., bathroom fixtures, more storage furniture). I think this hotel could do much better if management tried harder, but until then I advise customers not to stay there, especially for the price point that is easily matched by better hotels in the area. Finally, the name of this hotel is misleading. It is a 15-minute drive from the airport, and in no way should it be called an Airport Hotel. (My rating would have been one point lower, but I added a star for the people who were able to fix the air conditioner...
Read moreWr stayed in this hotel last 2 days. We chose it becouse of location, free breakfast and free parking. Price was on average the same with hotels in surrounding area. However everything that was advertise was falls. When we checked in we were told breakfast was complementary from 6:30 - 9:30. We got down to breakfast area at 8:20 and everything was empty, I mean everything. I went to sip a orange juice machine was shut down. Asked in lobby what is going on, I got answer that person from breakfast had a doktor appointment and she left!!!! What a sorry excuse. Hotel was fully booked and I did see a lots of angry guest. Needles to say, server who was allegedly left to doctor was cleaning everything and she left at 9:00 am after she cleaned and removed all the pans in breakfast area. So we didn't get a breakfast that day. We went out of hotel that morning and came back about 7-8 hours later to our room. Room was not cleaned and our towels were not replaced. For $ 170 a night that is a last thay could do you would think. I have called lobby again, and she told ny didnI order my room to be clean, otherwise they don't do that. I advised nobody told.me that at the time of checking in. She didn't have a answer. I asked than can someone bring to us extra 2 towels, but lobby advise they are bussy at the moment and they can do it later. I have said OK and we went out for that evening for our planned din er party. We got back after midnught and there was nowere room to park around hotel. I have went to lobby to ask were to park my vehicle and they advise me to park to walgrens besede the hotel!?!. I managed to find one spot there and we got back to room. Room was not cleaned again and we never got our towels. Next morning we got to brekfast at 8:30 and food was there this time, but now tables were so dirty from people who were eithing there earlier. I know some guest can be careless or just uneducated but hotel.personel should clean that or endlist remind guest. Took me 5 min to clean table from.all the mess in order to havebreakfast. Needles to say, never ever this hotel again. Stay away and use hilton and marriot Up next exit. For extra $ 5-10 you get 10 years never hotel with non of problems I experienced this last 2 days. Only reason I was not there was because this was our last moment trip and they were already all booked. Reviews they ha e for this hotel are not correct and proba ly paid for. This hotel is not worth...
