If I could give zero stars I would!! First off, this hotel is in a sketchy area. Upon checking in we were met with a not so friendly front desk clerk. No smiles,no greeting other than " how can I help you"?. Very off putting. We were given a room way in the back of the hotel. Ad soon as you step out of your vehicle and walk up to the door, you're met with a strong smell of weed/urine. An incredible musty smell that not only fills the hallway but the entire building. Our room was not any different as the odor came through as well. Extremely tiny toilet, basically all the way to the ground. Hair on the floor, Sticky lamp and desk area. Dust/ stains and finger prints covered the walls, microwave and fridge. It clearly hasn't been cleaned thoroughly. Dirty chair with stains on it. Curtain has stains as well. The list goes on so we decided to try to get another room. I specifically wanted another room due to the filth, tiny toilet and smell as I am traveling with my mom who is disabled. We needed something accessible or at least a higher toilet. The lady at the front desk said they didn't have any rooms like that available. Then she switched it up and said " one of the owners was using it". I don't believe that for a second. So this entire property only has one accessible room? I felt like I was being discriminated against. I still requested another room due to the other issues. She responded back saying her cleaners didn't come in today so she didn't have any other clean rooms available. We waited around for a good 15 until she discovered one. It was in the same building as the last. Same stinky smell, so strong you'll get a headache. My mom and I both did. Dirty floors, dirty chair with stains. White crusty stains on the bed skirt that resembled semen!! Nasty as blank...hair around the toilet and on the lamp posts. !! Security latch on the door is broken!! We had to prop the chair in front with suitcases. We also stood the ironing board up against the chair, so if someone opened the door it would fall and at least we would be alerted to wake up!! Headboard looks like it hasn't been wiped down since they opened the hotel. None of the usb plugs work... There is also a funky smell coming from the AC, the only plus is that it actually gets cold...Extremely disappointed and booked 3 days here. Definitely gonna look for somewhere else. I've never stayed anywhere like this in my life. This is supposedly 4 stars. I don't believe all the high reviews. I've stayed here and lived it and wouldn't return.
To the owners, please teach your staff how to properly clean the rooms/ beds and find a way to get rid of that horrid smell that covers everything. Please considering updating the furniture as it is outdated, old and dirty. Make sure every room is safe. No one should be staying in a room with a broken safety lock. Retrain your front desk clerks to smile and greet the guests so you don't feel like you're not welcome. Teach them to be courteous and understanding to the guests needs. This whole place needs a makeover. I will not return nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone!!😕 Update, its the second day and I just woke up at 4am to use the bathroom. What's waiting for me? A huge roach crawling around in the bathroom. I don't travel with bug spray so the only thing I had was disinfectant but it worked. I had to literally soak it to death while trying not to pee on myself. Nobody should have to stay in a place like this. Not to mention there's all kinds of homeless people that hang around outside and their so-called security is nowhere in sight!!The health department needs to shut this place down!!
Management had the nerve to respond to my review and give the generic " oh we're sorry you didn't enjoy your stay and blah blah blah BS... Please inform management of your concerns. Ummmm we did just that and they didn't do crap about it. Please avoid this horrid place at...
Read moreRead moreBY FAR the best place to stay in Fresno for the money. Sure there are better hotels but ZERO hotels that come close to comparing to this BW for a comparable price. I've stayed in a Fresno hotel almost every day the past ten months while having to keep my place in the bay the entire time. Needless to say I've tried them all multiple times so I've become a bit of an expert. Let me explain with some facts mixed in with a lot my opinion based on facts and observations. They welcome our furry 4 legged friends so if you're a dog owner booking this BW is a no brainer because it's a particularly great value for you. The only hotel in town to serve a hot breakfast with all the goodies remotely close to this price range. Tonight would cost $39 more to stay in the closest priced room at a place that offers breakfast. Not a lot of money unless I also explain that's a single digit percentage away from being double the price here tonight (*rate through your free online Best Western Rewards membership with a 2 night reservation). Any problem you may have read about here in other reviews I promise you I've experienced at $150/night hotels in the absolute best neighborhoods. At least here you can be assured the staff will take responsibility for anything that could come up and always makes you feel better about in the end. The rooms are big, always clean and it always feels quite and private to me. The beds are well above average as you would expect at a BW and the Wifi works, is fast, pw protected and has AP isolation ENABLED which is more important when it comes to public networks than a password secured network. There are several hotels in town that decided to let their brother-in-law Bob handle their networking needs and DO NOT have this crucial feature enabled (including more than one hotel in EVERY price range). Depending on what brings you to town for the night, this hotel may be ideal as it is the best place in town logistically. It has immediate access and is right in the center of where the main North/South Freeway (Freeway 41) meets the primary East/West route (State HWY 180) with HWY 168 East 3 short exits away from where you sleep. That's an easy access trifecta that is Yosemite Nat. Park NB41, Sequoia Nat. Park EB180 and my favorite Shaver Lake and the Sierra National Forest by heading EB168 plus 3-4 exits in any direction gets you someplace interesting like Shopping in Riverpark, Downtown, Clovis and of course super close to The Tower District. I could continue to site additional reasons to support my opinion about the unbeatable value this BW provides over hotels covering the entire spectrum. However, since this isn't my personal blog so instead of more reading you should go to the Best Western website and sign up for a free Rewards membership, see what the current BW promo is and check and get a rate quote. Remember to always query the BW site for a reservation of at least 2 nights because there is a often substantial variable discount for a "multi-night stay". PS, the 3 most recent BW promotions which you MUST opt-in to anytime before you stay were, $20 BW gift card for every night up to $100 bucks, $25 BW gift card for every night and before that it was stay 2 nights on technically separate reservations and get 1 free redeemable at pretty much any BW even their super duper vacation spots. Enjoy your stay and tell the notorious D.O.G. I said,...
My family and I have stayed at many of your Best Western locations all over the US for a lot of our travels over the years, therefore we trusted and chose this location over other competitors as we have always had a positive experience. That is, until tonight.
The first interaction from the get-go was disappointing as we were not greeted with the usual, happy and warm front desk staff. However, this is the least of it. We get checked into our room and all 3 of the rooms that we had booked as we are traveling with a large group are in unacceptable conditions. This is not one of those petty type of complaints. When I say "unacceptable conditions", I truly mean that.
As we walked into our room we were immediately greeted with an extremely unpleasant urine smell. Given that these rooms have carpets and allow pets, you can imagine how many accidents must have occurred here and how many times this smell was ignored by your cleaning staff. Next, as we are walking toward the middle of the room we notice an array of things that are up to 0 standard. The walls are smudged with dirt, the floors have black hair laying all over it, the mattresses are also smudged with black dirt, the pillows are missing pillowcases, the shower has clumps of hair laying in it, the nightstands are sticky, the mirrors have handprints on them, the sinks are dirty, the doors are all stained, the toilet paper holders are falling off each time you use them, the bed frames have half an inch of dust on them, the chairs are all stained, and the list could go on.
I understand that these are not resorts, and often it's a, "you get what you pay for situation", but this is beyond acceptable and to the point of questioning how the department of health has yet to be involved in this location specifically, given how popular and large of a corporation Best Western is.
We are traveling in a group of 8 people, of which 3 are kids. I would be lying if I said I didnt have tears in my eyes when I first walked into my room and had to figure out how I'm possibly going to stay here another few hours until I can finally check out. We even considered abandoning our rooms and booking a different place, but as everyone's financial situation doesnt allow for that, we had to suck it up, and take matters into our own hands and clean this place up before touching ANYTHING. As I mentioned earlier, we are traveling with kids so its important to have healthy and clean conditions for them to be able to freely move around the room without being concerned of contracting a serious illness.
Avoid this location at all costs, no matter how low the cost may be per night, even if you are just stopping by for a night or few hours, you will stay up all night waiting for morning anyway until you can leave this room. Instant regret as...
