We stayed at this location as a way stop while helping move our daughter to southern California for school. We were caravanning with two cars loaded with household items. Prior plans to connect with family in the Yosemite area (and keep things secure overnight) had to be hastily changed because of evolving wildfires. We made a last minute reservation and pulled in to this hotel later in the evening. Ever aware of possible security risks, but knowing there wasn’t any way to avoid leaving things in the cars, we took a little comfort that they had someone sitting outside the hotel entry who the desk indicated was there to watch the cars –and we did take more valuable items like laptop computers to the room. When we returned to our cars early the next morning, both of them had smashed backseat windows. The household items, mostly packed in storage bins, were untouched. However, about half of our daughter’s clothes that were in a large stuffed duffle and two handmade quilts – one she’d made with her grandmother last year before she passed – were gone. ||||I’m giving the hotel 1 star because of security. The security person they had out front seemed to be semi-catatonic, which had prompted my inquiry at the desk when we checked in, and which in hindsight should have raised more questions. However, with a last minute, nonrefundable reservation and being at the end of a 12 hour day of driving we didn’t feel like we had much choice. The signs about not leaving valuables in your car that dot the parking lot also aren’t much help, except for the hotel to be able to say “we told you so”. This is a hotel along the highway -of course there are travelers with stuff –most people aren’t just making a short trip to the corner mall. The hotel staff nicely helped get us trash bags, broom and vacuum to clean up all the broken glass, and provided the phone number for the police, but didn’t do much more. I asked about security camera footage since we were right in the field of view for two cameras –but the front desk couldn’t reach their manager to get permission to share it. I left my name and phone, but never heard back. We called the police immediately upon discovering the damage and stolen items, but they didn’t show up and so we left to start looking for someplace that could replace broken windows on a Saturday (hint, auto dealers aren’t likely going to be able to help). We got one car fixed at a glass shop associated with the local pick-n-pull –but it took about half the day. The other vehicle, which was less than a week old, I ended up driving to southern California without a window (which means other windows also have to be down to avoid the resulting wind throb –that’s fun for 4-1/2 hours) with the hope of finding a dealer to make the repair near our final destination. ||In the end, this is a crime hole. Until the Hotel finds way to really effectively ensure safety and security (it’s a cinch as others aren’t going to) you’d be better off avoiding this location. The cost – in every way imaginable – is...
Read moreIn summary rough experience . I have seen the owner I assume marshal by his posts responses respond so I appreciate that but sorry sir don’t see anything change from the others before me as I expected better. I stayed here and ignored the bad reviews to give it the best opportunity I have also seen the owner speak to some other reviewers so that’s promising. I fully expected alittle better service but as I’ve seen in other reviews I needed to speak up as it appears to not have changed. like I have seen in other reviews it’s been a place to sleep and that’s what our family needed it for. room was dirty it is important to recognize I did not Gordon Ramsey go out of my way to check or check certain areas but it just happened to be things I’ve seen. Not to be hyper critical for the money value you would think it ant least with the staff could awaist. All the door handles were dirty, and the chair and couch too. I had an issue where the soaps were not refilled properly and when reaching out asking for assistance management front desk were atrocious. They acted as if it was criminal to ask for a refill in soap and were very confident that it was filled upon arrival which was not. there was a few unidentified bugs in the shower and near the tub I’m not a big expert but Room in various places were covered in dust and seemed like it hadn't been cleaned or replaced like the ac unit but I don’t have a Career in HVAC but I just bring it up looks as if . This could be a hazard for those who have respiratory issues. I gave 1 star for a combination of staff interactions. I also recognize no religious options or vegetarian options so do not expect much for the food. When asking the staff there were major communication barriers. The folks that did speak that work there complained about management. The staff will be nice to your face but blame Managment and mention poor shopping trip not having certain items or other options. Thank you Lorde for your honesty and being so kind about the issues and noticed her ignoring some folks probably not on purpose maybe language barrier ,but still was great to my family and very kind. We would not have spent more time here passing thru on our way to Yosemite but be warned yall do not ignore the negative reviews I made that mistake. I also hope things do change but I’ve seen other promises made. Also if possible ask them to change rooms if facing the main freeway… the 99 or whatever the freeway is called I asked and the manger treated me like it’s my fault for cars on freeway that I didn’t account for as not from here. A update on that is they did not switch rooms when...
Read moreI stay at Holiday Inn anytime I travel. This was one of the most not relaxing stays I have had at any Holiday Inn thus far. I know this is probably an isolated incident because I have stayed at this location before, and the last visit was pleasant. I hope this can any future visits for myself and anybody else.
I always request a top floor, preferably a room away from the elevator for many reasons. I received 3rd by elevator this time. I requested otherwise on the App when I booked . It was the first time I used the App. I request the same in person when I arrive, and more often then not my request is met with no issues. I usually arrive late from night events. That is one reason why I always request a late checkout, and a quiet area since a lot of folks are getting up early to continue their travels. This time 1pm was approved, but I usually only ask for noon. I was grateful for the extended checkout approved ahead of time. When I arrived from my event I found the toilet fill valve malfunctioning. Due to the hour, about 2am, I just pushed it manually inside the fill tank since I am a handy man as well. In the early morning the noise of the guest above interrupted sleep about 5am. Another reason I ask for the top floor is I know many guests leave early for travel, and most of my stays are for leisure. Housekeeping then came and opened the door at 11 even though it was approved for 1pm. There was no security latch on the door to keep her from coming in. The privacy sign was on the handle outside as well. I called the front desk confirmed 1pm..and told her about the toilet; but there was no need to fix it until I left. At 1130 when I was resting again maintenance knocked on the door. I turned him away so I could try to rest again. Also the coffee maker was visibly dirty and unusable. I did tell the male at the front desk when I left. He wrote down a couple of my concerns, but unknown if any of this was communicated. I am available to talk about this if any further information is needed. I will continue to stay at Holiday Inn as this appears to be an isolated incident based on my...
