This place would've been a 5 if not for the beds. The amenities overall were great, and the staff took care of you. The bed was dorm room worthy, but the pillows were soft and the linen clean. We paid for a suite that had a lot of room for 4 people and a fold out couch, which might have been more comfortable than the bed because it needed more padding with the bars. I only took one picture from the room to show the infotainment center and windows. Yes, I said windows. They had double shades that were great blackout shades. We slept to 8, and we did not see the coastal sun come up at 6. The breakfast was great, and even had two types of waffle makers and batter flavors. The staff kept it well stocked. I took pictures of the rec room, pool, laundry, snack station, and ice machine, but I took two more important pictures of things that I want to highlight. One was an "eating cove". They had at least two semi-private booths for those who wish to be off from the main breakfast area that had plugs with USB power ports. This could be great for a quieter breakfast, kid hangout, or I need to knock out some emails. It is off the main hall, but I thought it was a good thing. The other may seem odd, but they put foyers on the entrances that allow you to get out of the weather before needing to use your card to get in the building. This might be a coastal rain issue, but I like it. All hotels should consider this. I just remembered one other thing about the mini fridge. It has a timed "on" feature. My guess this is an energy saver feature, but consider this. I had to keep turning back on to keep my fresh caught fish cool. I probably should have just used the ice machine....
Read moreIf Hilton corporate ever gets a hold of this review I hope they take it to heart. I have been a diamond member for the last several years in my travels. I have stayed at many hotels across the Nation. How I'm stating this is my intent to share with people I have seen a bad hotel or two but most of the time am fairly taken care of at Hilton in composition to Best western's Holiday inn Express and some Marriotts. Hilton this is the perfect and prime example of what every single one of your hotels needs to be like. The first impression is by far the best. When you walk through the doors you get this refreshing scent of an entrance of cleanliness. What follows next at the front desk is nothing but sheer kindness over the top meeting needs and expectations. The rooms are always fresh with new sheets, clean floors, clean bathrooms and countertops. The gym is a super nice facility the pool is clean and not over the top with water treatment. Breakfast is always enjoyable. Whenever I depart or come back from the day I'm always greeted when walking by the front desk with an actual "how was your day?" I travel to Rockport about 4 to 6 times a year and this is my hotel I will always stay at. Usually I travel solo however I would not hesitate to take my family here as it is well accommodating for them when I am at work. No problems with the internet no problems with the TV ever. Forgive me if I sound like a salesperson for this hotel I was just truly blown away this last time over the last 4 years of coming here the consistency has not changed and therefore I felt it deemed to...
Read moreGreat staff, friendly over this Holiday weekend. Overall property was clean & tidy. Fairly good continental breakfast w/ several options & areas to sit. Showers have wall mounted Shampoo, Conditioner & Body Wash Gel dispensers. Good Ice Machine on our floor & good in-room mini-fridge. Pool looks nice, but we didn't use it. My only concerns would be: 1) NO safe in the room to store valuables when we leave. 2) The tint on all windows is blue, so when it's sunny outside, the hallways and rooms have a strange blue filtered light. I understand why they use such heavy tint for efficiency, but it makes everything look oddly colored vs. regular tint; was like visiting Neptune. 3) Body Wash in shower was empty, no big deal, we brought our own. 4) I think this is all Hotels these days, but the AC just doesn't get cold enough at night. Thermostat didn't seem accurate to actual ambient temperature in the room & adjusting it didn't change anything. Unit wasn't frozen up or anything else unusual. One last Tip: the elevator buttons are NOT synced, so you have to hit the call button on each door, not just one. If you hit just one side, you wait for that specific elevator, meanwhile, the other one is sitting empty & ready right behind the closed door next to you, 😆 We've stayed here before &...
