The "Shack" Smokehouse Seafood — Restaurant in Fulton

I got there & odered 2 of their 3 meat platters. One with sliced brisket, ribs, sausage, potato salad & pinto beans. The other with chopped brisket, ckicken & porkloin with potato salad & pinto beans as well. They informed me they were out of porkloin so I substituted sausage. I also ordered the shack sampler with fried pickles, jalapeño bombers, & loaded French fries & a 6 piece hot wings. They overcharged me $61, but the girl gave me 11.75 back in change. When I got home I was beyond disappointed & flustered!!! Both my 3 meat platters were only 2 meat platters!!! They failed to give me the chicken or ribs yet I paid for 2/3 meat platters. The meats, though tasty & tender that I did get were tender & flavorful, they were all cold. Lastly, the loaded French fries were not loaded at ALL, they were just a handful of plain French fries...absolutely nothing on them at all!!! My first time there & it was a flop!!! I tried calling them immediately, but while I was there, they had stated they were closing early because it was slow...so I wasn’t too shocked they didn’t answer. I will be back tomorrow, but only to speak to management about my experience.....as for eating there again, probably not. My family loves to eat here every time we are in town. The burgers are way better than the fast food options nearby. The brisket is amazing. The fish and shrimp are crunchy and delicious. The badges potatoes are a great deal also, but sometimes they run out. Really and truly I love everything at the shack, but the best thing is the people. The folks who work here are really nice, friendly, and kind people! They will make you feel welcome even if you have done something stupid like my family and I did the first time we walked in years ago - we walked in right before closing and acted like it was open all night. They never made us feel unwelcome or rushed. By the time we finished eating we asked what time they close and they said about 45 minutes ago! But they NEVER let on that their day was extended by these boneheaded visitors walking in that close to closing! So every time we go to Rockport we stop by our favorite place for a variety of delicious food and a friendly welcome that makes us...

Very disappointing. We ordered fish...well we tried to order fish. We went there to have fish. After waiting for a table to be cleaned, placing and getting our drink orders, and deciding on what everyone was having we started to order only to have the server tell us they were out of fish. Oh, also out of baked potatoes and out of banana pudding. So essentially they were out of every item my sons wanted to order.

We had bbq. It was okay but it was not what we wanted for our coast trip. As we waited for our bbq we heard others being told about the fish when they walked in. They were very considerate and apologetic to them but our server was abrupt and dismissive toward us. I have no idea why as we are very friendly and considerate people. We stayed and ate because we already had our drinks and didn’t want to be rude and leave at that point. The other server was very friendly but it was beyond just our service, the restaurant did not seem to be prepared for a busy spring...
