We travel non-stop. We wanted to share our experience at Staybridge Gainesville. We stay here frequently as we travel in and out of Florida. The location, accommodations are perfect. I, now retired, use to be a GM in hospitality. What we witnessed by your staff on our last stay is nothing short of remarkable as well as heartwarming. We were in the restaurant area enjoying the afternoon snacks and beverages. There were a handful of guests enjoying. A young adult who was handicapped, wheelchair bound, non-verbal came in with his family member to partake. They chose a table. And then we witnessed what every mother, family member, would want to see. The restaurant attendant, female, came right over to the table and greeted them! As she was walking towards them, the young guy lit up, smiled, arms waving in joyful recognition of this person coming towards them. "Well hello" she greeted them, his joy was apparent. She greeted him with a hug. An obvious "not the first time"!! But more of an honest, warm, moment. A couple of other staff came to acknowledge this young guy, they came over to him, hugged him and he was just so joyful with all of the attention. This was so special. Not only was it heartwarming to witness as it was evident that this is an honest, frequent interaction. I sat and witnessed an exemplary group of employees taking their jobs to the next level! This is what hospitality is all about! Professional, attentive, goes-above-and-beyond. I have to say I wish this was caught on tape because not only was it a training moment for all of IHG it also was a special moment in humanity. Just amazing and exceptional all around. The next morning we came down to breakfast after the morning rush before we checked out. We enjoyed breakfast and the same female attendant was present. The family and young guy in the wheelchair came in after we had been there a short time. And we got to witness the same exuberance, the heartwarming greetings by the female attendant and then slowly more staff came in to greet and recognize this guest and his family. Perfection. When I say this staff is exceptional that is an understatement. I will never forget this amazing group of people who reminded us of how important what HOSPiTALITY and honesty is all about....

Read moreI was in an emergency situation and needed a hotel for 3 weeks. My husband was having an extremely rare and life threatening surgery at Shands Hospital. After 5 days at another hotel I checked out, realizing I needed a kitchen, king bed, & handicap shower. Staybridge's Sales Mgr got me a room, & also extended my stay when I was required to stay longer. She called incoming guests, switched rooms & made it happen! EVERYONE from management to kitchen staff was incredible. After 2 weeks my husband went directly from hospital ICU to the hotel & was on a soft food diet. The kitchen staff packaged grits, yogurt, guacamole, etc in cups for him. Marcel Carter, AGM, asked constantly if he could do anything. And whomever trains their personnel does an excellent job. Every person greeted guests (not just us) with a smile & a cheerful greeting. Every time. Steve assisted in helping with our luggage. The room was clean & the mattress and pillows were wonderful. The pool area was beautiful - rivaling resort hotels, complete with cabanas, BBQ grills, fountain, fireplace and plenty of seating. Lots of free washers and dryers! And if you or your family/friends want privacy, there is a "den" in the lobby with a big screen tv and sliding privacy screen panels. This is a very accommodating place to stay.
I noticed a lot of people were staying there that were employed by utility companies, etc. I asked one of them if their company had a contract with Staybridge. His reply was that they did not, but the workers stay there because it's the best hotel with the best amenities. And there...
