I had the opportunity to stay in this property on memorial Day week and I was able to compare the Pigeon forge Embassy Suites and the Gatlinburg Embassy Suites as I stayed on both during the week. Me and my family stayed in a two queen suite with balcony facing the poolside. And it was very spacious and really nice very clean as well. My biggest complaint in the room was that there was no dresser or cabinetry to put your clothes in so you have to rely on your suitcase or bags to store your clothes especially considering the size of this room they could have easily put in some cabinets. But everything else was stellar they had a mini fridge that was bigger than the average size mini fridge which we totally appreciated has a microwave and even a separate sink so if you need to wash your hands or dishes without going to the bathroom. The pools were amazing The main pool was very big but I wish that it was heated. The hot tub was very spacious as well but the problem was everyone and their mama was in that hot tub because of the main pool not being heated as it got chilly in the afternoon hours during our stay. The indoor pool was also good size but this is more for the kiddies and also another problem is it's not heated and that's why everyone was crowding on the hot tub. The hot tub itself was not as hot as I would like but that is my preference it could have been perfectly fine for others. They had a lazy river but it was out of commission when we came it had a nasty tint of green on it when we first came this could be because the filtration system went out for that pool so I was not able to enjoy it. I've been in a lot of Embassy Suites as this is our hotel of choice when we're traveling as a family and by far out of all the states that we've been in and all the embassy suites, this hotel has the best breakfast and every item that they served during the week of our stay was phenomenal for example the potatoes were very crispy the biscuits that they serve was flaky and soft the seasoning on the different items was perfect and they're omelette station I could tell that the ones creating the eggs but their love and care when making them and they're greetings that they put in as well which made it very tasty. The selection also varied on different days which was amazing. The location itself was a little bit of a walk down to the strip going to the strip was not a problem but coming back to the hotel if you have knee problems you'll be going uphill so keep that in mind but definitely walkable. The staff was very helpful and friendly although none of them said their name or introduced themselves as I would have loved to give them a shout out but everybody that I have encountered in the hotel staff especially during the evening reception. Parking was plentiful and free but I heard from some rumors that they are planning to add a fee to the parking on top of your hotel stay which I say is a no-no as that could turn away some people from booking this hotel. Hilton hopefully you are listening! Couple of things that the pigeon forge Embassy Suites edges from this hotel is that they have a rooftop reception, breakfast and restaurant. We stayed in the same type of room although the pigeon forge one was a little bit smaller not really that noticeable actually had cabinetry that you could put your clean clothes in if needed which edged the Gatlinburg one. Please check out my review on the Pigeon forge Embassy Suites. One thing I forgot to mention is that they do have laundry services self laundry services so if you need to wash clothes you can on both Knowing this helps you pack accordingly and not overpack. The restaurant looks very fancy and appetizing but the lack of lighting made it look like it's closed for business. Another issue we had with the restaurant was we wished that there were vegetarian options as my wife and daughter is vegetarian. If they resolve they said issues I just mentioned I will definitely turn this into five stars. We will definitely be coming back and I will make a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall, we were disappointed with our stay because:|1. A week prior to arrival, I tried to adjust (not cancel or ask for a refund) the dates by 2 days due to my dadās unexpected death šš. Hilton and Expedia did not let us andjust our stay by 2 days bc it was ānon refundable.ā š„|2. Upon arrival, we discovered the lazy river was out of order. It didnāt work for 1/3 of our stay. |3. Upon arrival, we requested a room upgrade to a balcony. We were told to check back in the morning. I did at 7am. Front desk said there was a guest with a balcony checking out, but needed to confirm the upgrade with her manager and told me to come back in an hour. I returned at 8am. She confirmed the room change and told me to go ahead and check out of original room. We packed everything up and came back to front desk before check out. Manager said there was no room with a balcony available and nothing had been guaranteed. I tried to interact with the front desk person about our conversation. She remained quiet while he talked over me. No apologies. No accountability for her error. He took my number in case a balcony room opened up. We left and came back to our original room with no communication only for our room keys to not work. Returned to the front desk to get our keys renewed (which he explained that was bc we had a plan in case a balcony room opened up, but he could have lmk we needed to get our keys reactivated rather than letting us discover.) We expressed our disappointment with the frond desk error, lack of accountability and having to trouble shoot the room key activation on our own, and the final response was: āIf thereās anything we can do to improve your stay, let us know.ā š«©|4. When we ordered food & 2 drinks at the bar, not only were we overcharged and when we notified them of the error, it was treated as an inconvenience, then it took 20min to get the 2 glasses of wine we had already paid for. (BTW: I asked for a wine list. Bartender listed some options off her computer. Told me the cheapest glass of rosĆ© was $24. The next night, a different bar tender gave me a wine list where I discovered the cheapest glass of rosĆ© was $8 š)|5. The lazy river reopened the 2nd day thank goodness. Kids had fun, but parents note: there is a big puddle on the pool deck that seems to be consistent bc itās moldy, so very slippery, which I avoided but sadly saw a sweet little girl slip hard and hit the back of her head badly. She was covered in moldy water and crying. She and her mom walked away. Dangerous and also so sad. I hope sheās okay š¬.|6. Ordered wings for the kids. Looked like there was no sauce. Was told it was āsoaked in.ā Kids said there was no taste. Next night, I ordered wings again with āextra sauce.ā Extra sauce came on the side. Kids said this order definitely had sauce this time (and you could clearly see the sauce), so they didnāt even use the extra sauce š.|7. Guests get 2 free drinks during reception (4:30-6:30pm). We returned just before it ended but didnāt have our drink tickets on us. Bartender told us just to come back later with the tickets and IDs, and we could get our drinks. We did about 20min later but were then told it was too late š.||If youāre still reading this review, the positives of this place are:|1. Nicest housekeeping staff š|2. Absolutely clean rooms.|3. Great breakfast.|4. Fun waterslide with zero rules (ie, trains of kids going down together).|5. Nestled in the forest a bit, so great views and out of the chaos. ||So, you can decide the cost benefit analysis of staying here and make the most informed choice. We will not be back because the cons out way the pros. Not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery nice resort in Gatlinburg. The pool and outdoor areas were great. Sitting by the pool or even fireplace at night was so relaxing. The courtyard with swinging chairs was so peaceful and comfortable that I almost fell asleep. We had a king room with a sofa. It was fine for two, but 3 or more would have been very crowded. There are no drawers to put your clothes in, and the closet doors open so far into the walkway that you can't get to the kitchenette area or bathroom if someone is getting anything from the closet. Our room had no working cold water in the kitchenette. The next day, they came and fixed it. Scott was very apologetic. The bathroom had no hand soap for two days despite housekeeping coming to clean the room each day. I ended up just going ro get some myself. Many TV stations did not work or "froze" often. It was very annoying. I think that it may be an internet connectivity issue in the room. The evening reception is a nice thought. However, they had local and domestic beers on tap and only let you choose from two domestic beers. If they were smart, they would let you try the local beers to get you to buy them at the bar later for cost. I have to give kudos to Dane in the kitchen for breakfast. First, it is very nice to have "made to order eggs." I have particular dietary needs, and Dane accommodated me by making the eggs for me himself to assure that they were correct. Very accommodating. Also, the best hotel breakfast that I have had in a very long time and we travel a lot. Davie was "spot on" in the dining room, keeping it clean and ready for guests. I noticed that when he was working, the dining room was spotless. The only recommendation that I would make is to "turn up" the toaster. You have to put the bread through 3 times just to toast. Also, the kitchen area is not set up appropriately to move people through. For example, the coffee cups are in the corner, and people have to wait to get a cup. If there were cups on each side, people could get coffee and tea quickly and move on. Also, the grill should be expanded to allow for two cooks to be cooking omlets/eggs at once. Breakfast should be expended on weekdays by one hour which would reduce the crowds. We found that the weekday crowd was twice that of the weekend and figured that it had to do with the shortened breakfast hours. I was also disappointed that certain TV stations, especially in our room, appeared not to have a good signal. However, everywhere else in the hotel has great signal. In today's day and time, the TV signal and internet connections should be good in ALL areas of the hotel. The free trolley stop in front of the hotel was great. However, be ready to wait for a return bus. We waited in town for an hour to get a ride back up the hill to the Embassy Suites because every bus that came by was full. Hint...walk a little bit up the hill to the Convention Center and wait. They empty out, and you will be more likely to get a trolley back to Embassy Suites. Lisa at the front desk was always friendly and helpful. We will definitely...
