The hotel my partner and I were staying in didn't have any dinner options but we were starving and this one was just down the street, so a few nights ago we showed up an hour and a half before the place was meant to close
I'm only giving this restaurant two stars as the food was good (though we ordered the Buffalo Chicken pizza was seemingly is meant to have ranch on it, ours did not) but the service and attitude of the workers was TERRIBLE
When we walked in the older lady at the front immediately had an attitude with us, as if we walked in only a few minutes before close and not over an hour like we actually did. She didn't even ask if we wanted to eat in or get take out, just assumed we wanted take out and assumed we already knew what we wanted as if we'd seen the menu before. I apologized and told her it was actually our first time there, and she handed us the menu as if we were inconveniencing her
There was only one other family in the restaurant and I'd been exhausted from walking around all day so I walked over to a table to look over the menu for a second and the woman at the front followed after us getting annoyed that we didn't make it clear we wanted to eat in, and she said it's fine if we want to dine in but it clearly was NOT fine with how she was talking to us and how she'd assumed we'd get take out in the first place. At this point I just wanted to hurry up, order our food, and get out
The whole time we waited for the pizza to be done not only did she glare at us as if she wanted us out of the restaurant immediately, but we noticed one of the employees sitting down on his shift. I'm not someone who minds when employees sit down when it's slow even if there's still a few people in the restaurant, but that being acceptable made it all the more obvious that woman did not want us in there since she didn't want us sitting down. And to top it off, the same employee who'd sat down was chewing on his hair the whole time. We honestly didn't realize he was an employee until he was the one who handed us our pizza
Tldr; EXTREMELY rude staff, the food was good but seemingly our pizza lacked some ingredients compared to the pictures, one of the employees was...
Read moreMy family, friends, and I recently visited the area and decided to order pizza and salads from this restaurant based on the appealing menu and positive first impressions. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing due to poor customer service and disorganized operations.
After placing our order, we waited an hour and a half with no delivery. I called the restaurant three times for updates and remained respectful throughout each conversation. However, the staff member I spoke with was consistently unprofessional and dismissive. On my final call, I asked if there was any update on our delivery driver, and was told, “I don’t know where they are or how long it will be.” I later found out that our food had been sitting there, completed, for the entire time.
We ended up having to pick up our order ourselves. Upon arrival, the staff member immediately went to the back. When she returned, I informed her I was there for the order under the name Savannah. She disappeared again for another 10 minutes, despite the food already being prepared. When she finally returned, she placed the food on the counter and told me we would receive a refund for the inconvenience, but only the price of 1 pizza, then walked away without further explanation.
I asked to speak with her again and requested documentation or confirmation of the promised refund. She reluctantly printed a receipt and told me to contact the manager at 4 PM. Throughout the entire exchange, she was rude, dismissive, and clearly uninterested in resolving the issue professionally.
We were hoping for a smooth and enjoyable experience, but unfortunately, this was not the case. I would not recommend this establishment based on the service...
Read moreMountain Trail Grill & Pizzeria is inside Glenstone Lodge. The service was nice although the kids at the register had broken English. They were still helpful and smiley.
A few soda and water refrigerators, a few candy and snack brands. Nothing too exciting. Bottled water was expensive. We walked to the General Store and bought drinks and snacks at a better price.
My parents and I liked the pizza! It was tasty and looked eye appealing too. Sorry, no pizza pictures. I got a small chicken with white sauce. It didn't taste frozen or thrown together. The chicken tasted real. The crust was good. My mom also got the spaghetti and meatballs. It was in an aluminum small contain. She said it was ok if one is hungry. I don't think she cared for the sauce. She also got a salad.
My only Con is the menu was pizza of course and lots of saucy foods. No vegetables or rice with chicken dinners. The menu needs a few dinner meals like a protein with 2 side dishes. Plus, you have to pay for breakfast. Glenstone Lodge does not offer complimentary or continental breakfast. Its $10 prepay for breakfast the night before or $12 the day of breakfast. I got to look at the breakfast before buying it. It was nothing worth my wild to purchase. We went to McDonald's cheaper for 3 people.
It needs updated too could use a revamp on decor, snack counter, breakfast choices, more menu choices for dinner meals. The breakfast area was needed more lighting.
Overall I would definitely get pizza there again when I ever go back to Glenstone Lodge and Gatlinburg. I'll get my bottled water and snacks elsewhere. Open 7am- 11am then...
