We visited Old Mountain last night. Despite the rain slowing things down in town, the humidity made it the perfect time to enjoy some cider and wine. Old Mountain Wine Company, the newest addition to Gatlinburg’s winery trail, is definitely a standout.
Let’s explore their wines. Their fruit wines strike a perfect balance. Our top pick is the Old Mountain Apple, which can be served ice-cold or as a slush—truly a favorite. We also sampled their mead, crafted with honey, ideal for those mindful of their blood sugar. Their cider selection is impressive too, especially the unique Honey Basil variety, a perfect match for cheese or pizza.
We also loved their outdoor patio. Tucked away at the quieter end of town, it offers a serene escape from the bustling Gatlinburg streets. And don’t forget to look for Chely—she’s Sean’s friend and incredibly nice. She answered all our questions and made our visit even better. If you find yourself in town, a visit to Old Mountain is...
Read moreThere's 2 parts to the experience here.
The first was the service, Jesse has to be one of the most professional people I've had a chance to enjoy company with while on vacation. He brings a whole level of atmosphere that honestly made this tasting so much better. He shares a true passion for his job and has such a great personality. He was able to walk us through each and highlight the unique features. While he was helping us, he was also running an almost full bar in the same manner. He definitely is someone I would want working for me.
The second part of this would be the wine itself we sampled all of the wines today and were unable to pick out one or two we liked best. We ended up purchasing 12 bottles and singing up to the wine club so we can share these wonderful wines back home with our friends and family. We are excited to have a bottle this evening after the kids are sleeping. This is definitely a must stop for wine lovers as you...
Read moreGarret was our tasting specialist and he was amazing! He was the best person we had all day. Because garret was so great I’ll give five stars, although two of the other workers there were very rude, one being a younger blond and one being an older white gentleman (didn’t get her or his name) Garret stepped up his game and helped our group and another while these two sat around not offering a hand at all. I believe we were treated differently because we were a younger group of people. Jokes on these two workers we tipped Garret well :) to continue the wine was the worse of the five places on the wine trail as well, easily my least favorite. Garret made the place enjoyable with his kindness and friendly customer service he deserves to be recognized The outside seating they offered was...
