A Celestial Culinary Journey Beginning with Fried Green Tomatoes
Embarking on a gastronomic adventure post-eclipse, my companions and I found ourselves drawn to The Park Grille, a shining beacon on the lively Gatlinburg strip. Eager to savor the flavors of the evening, we commenced our dining experience with the delightful starter of fried green tomatoes, setting the stage for a meal that would leave a lasting impression. As we reflect upon our celestial day, The Park Grille's offerings certainly warrant a glowing four-star review, though a twinkle more in their sauce variety could propel them to even greater heights.
The ambiance at The Park Grille was a harmonious blend of rustic charm and refined elegance, creating a setting that felt as cozy and inviting as the twilight sky after a day of celestial wonders. The wooden accents and soft lighting enveloped us in a warm embrace, providing the perfect backdrop for an evening of culinary indulgence.
The service we received was nothing short of stellar, mirroring the precision and grace of the celestial event we had witnessed earlier. The staff's attentiveness and expertise shone through as they guided us through the menu, offering recommendations that elevated our dining experience to celestial heights.
Our journey through the menu led us to sample a selection of dishes that included succulent salmon, tender chicken, and delectable shrimp. Each dish was a masterpiece in its own right, showcasing the kitchen's dedication to quality and flavor. The salmon, with its perfectly crispy skin and moist flesh, was a standout, while the chicken dish delighted with its robust seasoning and juicy texture. The shrimp, seasoned to perfection, were a true delight for the taste buds, offering a glimpse into the bounty of the sea.
However, as we savored these culinary delights, our taste buds yearned for a wider universe of sauces to accompany the exquisite seafood and poultry offerings. The limited selection of sauces, while flavorful, left us craving a bit more variety and excitement to truly elevate the dishes to cosmic proportions. A more expansive sauce menu would provide the perfect complement to the already stellar entrees, allowing for a personalized and unforgettable dining experience.
The side dishes served alongside our main courses were a symphony of flavors, enhancing each bite with their thoughtful preparation and presentation. The beverage selection at The Park Grille was equally impressive, offering a diverse array of wines and cocktails to suit every palate and preference.
In conclusion, The Park Grille is a shining star on the Gatlinburg strip, offering a dining experience that is as memorable as the celestial events we had witnessed earlier in the day. Starting with the fried green tomatoes and journeying through the delectable salmon, chicken, and shrimp, our taste buds were treated to a celestial feast. With a broader selection of sauces, this culinary gem has the potential to reach even greater heights and capture the hearts of diners seeking an otherworldly dining experience. I eagerly recommend The Park Grille to fellow food enthusiasts and look forward to returning to explore more of their stellar offerings...
Read moreThe Park Grill is the sister restaurant to the storied Peddler Steakhouse, in Gatlinburg. We were excited to try it because we’ve eaten at The Peddler for 20 years, and have always had such a great experience there. It was my daughter’s 12th birthday and we wanted to eat somewhere special.
The parking is TERRIBLE, which is to be expected in a place like Gatlinburg, so not a huge deal. The atmosphere is awesome. The entire theme is like a lodge in the wilderness. The entire back wall running the length of the dining room is beautiful wildlife scene that changes periodically. Sounds weird, but it’s cool.
They have the huge salad bar just like The Peddler. You go to the bar to make your salad, and when you return, that’s the cue for the waitress to take your order. My 17 year old son and I ordered the ribeye, my wife and daughter ordered the filet, and our two little ones ordered a kids steak. My wife asked for her filet to be butterflied and cooked Medium. Everyone’s food came out great, except for my wife’s. Her steak was extra well. An obvious mistake. She hesitantly sent it back. The server assured us her steak would be out asap. When it came out 8 minutes later, it was purple in the middle. To say they undercooked it is an understatement. I’m sure they were in a hurry to fix it, but DANG. By this point, we were just ready to leave. Also, by this point, the server is checked out. We no longer see her until the very end of the meal, only because I call her over to let her know we didn’t blame her for the kitchen. We end up ordering our desert to go, and the manager ends up taking off my wife’s meal plus mine, because I gave my wife 1/2 of my ribeye (which was amazing).
Anyway, we came excited to try The Park Grill and left a bit disappointed. Not sure if we’ll be back. Our check for 2 adults, 2 big kids and 2 little kids was a bit over...
Read moreThe absolute worse ribeye steak I have ever eaten, including grocery store select grade. Waiter boasted black angus, known for it's fatty quality and marbling. However, these steaks were either thawed in a microwave, were not allowed rest time, or just plain poor quality beef, the latter more what I suspect. Most restaurants serve prime or choice grades, this was neither. This restaurant advertises to have the same 'great' food as it's sister, The Peddler, no comparison. We always get prime rib at The Peddler, but could not get a reservation, so we tried this place for lunch, and they do not have prime rib on the menu at all, even for dinner. I sent my steak back, they cooked another one, just as tough , grainy, and salty. I only ate about 3 bites, by that time I had lost my appetite. The waiter was kind, and it certainly was not his fault, but I believe sending it back irritated the cook because I had explosive diarrhea as soon as we got back to our place that lasted until 2AM. I still tipped the waiter 20%, for overpriced bad food, and after I hit the toilet, it made me so angry I was about to call the manager the next day and tell him to check his inventory and return that meat to the distributor. I just finished reading several bad reviews of this restaurant describing similar bad steaks, and the lack of concern on the part of the manager, so clearly, they do not care. I can recommend The Peddler, and if you know beef like I do, they let you look at your steak before it is grilled. I really should have asked to see that ribeye before it was cooked- I can tell a good cut when it's raw. I would write a letter to that manager, but I don't think he knows enough about beef, or even cares what customers think. That company needs to stop advertising 'same great food' as...
