My wife booked a room for this conveniently-located Studio 6 with the intent of breaking up a 12 hour road trip. We booked a room with the expectation of arriving at 2:30-3:00 AM. The reservation was for a handicaped-accessible suite and was priced very reasonably. Upon arrival, the reservation was determined to be for the wrong date (which was admittedy our own oversight) and were told that the only rooms available were non-accessible standard rooms with dual twin beds.
Understanding that we only really needed a space to sleep in and I could make due without having a shower for one night, we were about to accept this. However, in the process of trying to cancel the reservation through the third-party website, it was discovered that we could book another accessible suite, so we did. The staff had to cancel the original reservation due to the odd policies of the partner website and honored the reservation we were previously told was unavailable.
At this point, the clerk handed us keycards and we drove to the room. I began to unload our bags when my wife discovered that the cards didn't work. We called the counter and were told the key-cards were mistakenly programmed for the wrong room, so we loaded up the bags and drove back to the front desk. After all the setbacks, we had been delayed by about an hour. Knowing we were up against an 11AM checkout, we asked for a late checkout as a courtesy since the keycard mistake had caused a further delay and we were told that they weren't able to secure one.
At this point we just drove back to try and salvage as much rest as we could. Once again, we unloaded and approached the room. Upon entry, the room reeked of some putrid stench. I expected it to have an odor, as I recall it was represented as a smoking room. This wasn't a tobacco odor, though. This was like a strong must/mold smell topped mixed with some kind of rotting meat stench There was also some kind of sticky residue on the phone and some of the other surfaces. That was the last straw. My wife went to the front desk and cancelled the room.
Realizing we were going to run up against a 10-11 o'clock checkout at any just about any motel, the prospect of getting a healthy amount of sleep was no longer available for us. We decided to drive straight through with sleeping in a rest area parking lot as a standby measure. I really had much higher expectations for...
Read moreThe only thing I liked about staying here was that the AC worked.
I stayed at this motel for my halfway mark driving from Virginia to Florida and it couldn’t have been worse. The only reason I stayed here was because I wasn’t 21 and old enough to check into one of the many better options in the area.
Checking into this hotel I got my key fairly quickly, parked and worked my way to my room. Right off the bat walking to my room it wreaks of weed, sewage, and there’s trash all in-front of the small dive in bar connected to the motel.
Upon entering the room you get punched in the face by the stench of cigarette. For an entire king sized bed there was 3 of the clumpiest, thinnest, worst quality pillows I’ve ever seen in a $110 room (I already had poor expectations booking this place because of its reputation and other reviews, but 3 pillows for a king sized bed was ridiculous).
I had read people have found cigar ashes in the drawers of the room so I checked and to my avail found none, what I did find on the other hand was a PUBIC hair in the fridge (Small short lone black curly hair). There was a yellow stain on the corner of the mattress and a brown stain on the base of the mattress sheet.
At 2 AM I woke up to pain in my neck from the absolute worst night of sleep I’ve ever had in my neck, my pillow had parted like the Red Seas and there was absolutely no cushion at all. I woke up at 3 AM shivering because of how cold it was because the AC had been blasting the entire night, it took 2 hours for the room to heat up after adjusting the AC to the hottest it could go.
In short, I will never be staying at another Studio 6 or Motel...
Read moreThe location is good getting a room here you would probably be better off going somewhere else. The prices are not what they say online you should always remember to add another $25-$50 on there is under new management. They do not do room service they do not give clean towels they do not, like for you to ask for a new leaning on your bed there are some housekeepers that clean good and then there’s another couple of housekeepers which is clean horribly the manager refuses to recognize he is the problem he will lie to the customers he’s not trying to fix anything he’s just trying to make it by this new manager is running the place into the ground The old managers were trying to keep the place up, but this one is not even trying to keep it up. A lot of the ACs are broken. Some of the rooms don’t have power and you would find in other rooms mold. Please be careful staying here. also, they stopped having a non-smoking room so all of these rooms are just about smoking rooms but they are really not supposed to be smoking in any of the rooms. The new manager just doesn’t care. He also close the the pool just because he doesn’t wanna hear the noise and the suites are currently unavailable to rent he tries to blame the guest for running down the place when he refuses to let anybody have any room service he doesn’t even want to provide fresh linens if you’re looking for a kid friendly hotel, this is not the place please do not bring...
