Where does one start . I stayed at this location back in July of this year . Booked though Expedia found a great price , it was nice enough where I decided that I would stay again for my most recent trip to handle all of my fathers affairs considering he had passed away recently. Upon check in I waited very patiently while the front clerk checked in the man in front of me . She smiled at him when he came to the register and asked for his card and Id .... saw he had stayed at the location before offered an an upgrade . In my mind I was excited , I am the service and training supervisor for spectrum and I look for talent daily. However , the mood and the interaction completely changed once I made it to the counter . Beverly completely changed my who opinion and view about this location the moment she opened her mouth . Mind you I had on sweats with a duffle bag and my hair in a ponytail, not looking like I held any position of title and she treated me like I was homeless lol not funny but a very true statement... once I walked to the counter she asked my ..... what was I doing there lol not what Can I help you with , why was I there . I told her I had a reservation . She asked me for my Id and card used for reservations and I gave them to her as requested. She asked was my card a credit card . I said know cause it was a debit card that my job provides for rooms and a slush fund . She told my that my card couldn’t be accepted because it wasn’t a MAJOR credit card .... now the problem laid cause I had stayed at this location before . Used the same method for reservations and the same exact card as the time before . Now I would have had no problem using my cc however my luggage wasn’t coming for about three hours that had my portfolio and my cc inside , I had made a stop at the funeral home first and left it behind. However , I had used his method before so not sure why it was such an issue now . Considering the card had over 2000 on it to cover any incidentals , it’s not like they don’t put a pending charge on the card right away . But nevertheless she said she wasn’t going to honor my reservation. Now don’t get me wrong , I’m not upset about the policy . I’m upset that the person they have running the front desk was the rudest person on the planet. She didn’t try to work with me at all she just canceled my reservation. Then once I asked for the supervisors name she refused to give it to me . I had to demand his card . She gave me the card of Candice jiles ... smh last time I was there a man named JORDAN was in charge. We actually had a nice conversation my last stay . This is a perfect display of selective service. Beverly chose when she wanted to be the best at her job and position instead of delivering a consistent pattern of excellence. Which is so sad on so many levels. Makes me think, had I been Caucasian with a suit on how would she have treated me . I mean the last time I came I was I all business ware same card , same hotel , same booking method. Nevertheless this was one of my worst hotels experience. Especially ina time like this . All in all I stayed at the Hyatt with no issues same card also , which is even more puzzling. The Hyatt Milwaukee is a 5 star hotel and this is the La Quinta lol . Makes me think about how my team can be better at there job and how I would never want a customer to feel the way I felt . I sat with the hotel manager for the Hyatt and we talked about my terrible service experience at your place . I also go him in touch with the executive account lead so he could work on getting the entertainment coast down for the Hyatt. Savings of over 5000 per month. This just goes to show , you don’t judge a boom by its cover . When you’re in management it’s your job to listen and make judgement calls biased on the situation.was it ridiculously frustrating yes . Do I believe Beverly should be the manger over the housekeeping and waste management yes . But I got a much better experience at a much better hotel . Hopefully you guys give updates to the training and customer service policy....
Read moreOur group stayed at this La Quinta Bayshore for the 120th Harley Anniversary Rally. I booked this hotel almost a year ago because of the price and the pictures, especially the ones of the pool. At check in we found out that the pool is empty because of broken pipes during a winter freeze last December. Really?? I worked at a hotel with an indoor pool for 18 years in Northwest Indiana. Because we're so close to Lake Michigan we've had several severe winter freezes. Not once did our pool pipes freeze! We suspected foul play as they didn't want to deal with us wild bikers causing trouble! (Most of the bikers at this rally were older and just Harley lovers; not gangsters.) Our group ranged from 49 to 81 years old. The general manager, Jessica, gave me a bunch of B.S. that sounded sketchy, i.e., six hotels had the same problem and have empty pools, it's going to cost the owner $500,000 to fix, etc. Be careful putting in money in the vending machine. I put in money and lost it. The younger man with his feet up behind the desk said he couldn't give a refund as the machines are a third party entity and they have nothing to do with them. I was SOL! The room was clean enough, but the halls and lobby floor need a good scrubbing. There was a floor fan and a floor bucket and mop by the office near the front desk the whole time we stayed. No room service unless you ask for it. There were cobwebs on the big lights in the lobby. The garbage cans were always overflowing. The breakfast bar was okay even though they never had butter the whole time we stayed there, (the man working the breakfast said they forgot to order butter; whatever), except for the last day. The last day they didn't put out several things and had to be asked to please bring more coffee and waffle batter out several times. It was almost like they wanted us evil bikers to just leave! Jessica, the general manager, spent a lot of time outside smoking, playing on her phone, and talking to the transients who live at the hotel. I promise I saw her come in for the day and 30 minutes later she was smoking a cigarette outside near the entrance next to an overflowing garbage can. One of the transients told us that the owner lived in Texas and was named Rajneesh, or something like that. The person said they thought this hotel was a tax write off and he's going to flip it. Maybe that's why this is a one star hotel in my opinion. I will say that the housekeeping staff were very friendly. And asked if we needed anything. They practiced customer service better than Jessica. So, if you're looking for a cheap hotel and don't mind perfection and a little dirt, this...

I attempted to stay at this hotel. Upon arriving the person who checked me in couldn't stay off her phone. This distraction in addition to her unprofessional demeanor made me aware that I needed to check the room before checking in.
My instincts were correct. The beds looked thrown together and worn. The couch was filthy as it was a light blue but was stained with brown spots. The bathroom was not clean. It was disgusting. After seeing the room I immediately returned to the lobby by using the stairs. The stairwell was filthy. There was a stained sheet at the bottom of the steps that looked like old food and debris was stuck on it and should have been thrown away but apparently was left there.
When I got back to the desk the young lady was sarcastic and rude. I asked for the manager who was outside smoking cigarettes and obsessed over feeding stray cats with treats someone left behind.
I asked her to assist the young lady in the cancellation as she seemed unfamiliar with assisting customers with cancelling. She was also becoming more unprofessional as she spoke to me and tried to answer phones. She insisted she couldn't print me a receipt so I asked the manager if I can have a receipt showing I didn't stay there to ensure I got a refund.
The manager decided to refuse to give me a receipt and demanded I leave. After explaining that I was concerned that I would be charged because the young lady wasn't able to cancel the stay due to my concerns she told me that she would call the police.
I told her I didn't understand how me asking for a receipt would need police assistance but if she felt that was appropriate she could go forward with that.
Upon arrival the police spoke to me and my small children as we waited in the lobby. I explained that she was upset that I wouldn't accept her being dismissive to my concerns and when I asked for the corporate number she became irrate and demanded I leave and threatened me with police presence as if I would be moved by that statement.
The police officers were very reassuring I wasn't doing anything wrong and I asked them to ask her for my receipt. Magically she was able to print the receipt with my cancellation on it. It seemed as if it was intentional to promote fear to me.
I was never contacted by corporate to apologize for the experience or the poor quality of the establishment. Luckily I paid extra for last minute cancel but it should have been refunded also after...
