AmericInn by Wyndham Glendale/Milwaukee — Hotel in Glendale

This place looks like it may have been nice at one time, but is now run down and dated. It smells like smoking was allowed before, but is now being masked with an artificial coconut tanning oil air freshener. The entry door & bathroom door were both beat in along the bottom, the sink & tub were both nearly completely plugged, the tub was rusting on the bottom, the mattress was an old spring mattress with pronounced body depressions, the walls had food splatters on them, the bed skirt had some sort of white stain, the heater/air conditioner squeaked continuously, & the floor squeaked as the people in the second floor room above the one I stayed in walked around. It's located in a blighted out section of town with a view out the front of a run down parking lot & a carwash, while the view out the rear is of the back of an industrial building. There is a sign at the check-in desk that states that a $100 CASH deposit is REQUIRED & is refundable after a room inspection. The sign says it all. The front desk attendant copped an attitude when I questioned taking a copy of the credit card and driver license, which is not a normal practice. This is clearly a low rate establishment that is far below what would be expected of an AmericInn. On the bright side, there is a Holiday Inn just up the street that may be a better option. Yes, your management/ owner is very unprofessional. She came from behind her office desk at the front to tell me not to put trash inside of a garbage receptacle which is clearly a garbage receptacle. There is no sign up there that says not to put any garbage in it!!! On top of that she tells me that she doesn't want any diapers in the receptacle and my daughter is not in diapers !!! Making assumptions and having a false premise about customers is unacceptable. And to tell your guests to take their trash outside is not how you treat customers. Housekeeping should be taking trash outside. Plus, the mattresses are disgusting and shower curtains are rusted. I will give this place a bad review for as long as I'm able to!

SHE WAS OVERLY LOUD, THROWING HER HANDS UP AT ME WHILE MAKING AN ASSUMPTION THAT THERE WERE DIAPERS IN THAT BAG. THIS WAS DONE IN THE PRESENCE OF OTHER HOTEL GUESTS AND I FELT COMPLETELY DISRESPECTED. FOR THE LAST TIME: MY DAUGHTER DOES NOT WEAR DIAPERS. The trash was the food we’d just eaten. DO NOT RECOMMEND! IF SOMEONENE cant commumicate with you properly when checking in, there is no way I am staying there over night! Andre (a manager of course) didn't speak, didn't communicate well and had an attitude worse than a teenage girl and he is in a customer service job. My room was taken care of earlier this week by my mate. Andre took one look at his screen, didn't scroll, didnt go into another tab, went to one screen and said, "no it wasn't paid for"...as rudely as he could like I was bothering him. Very short and snappy like. I stepped out of line called my mate so he could be on his way. At that time the next shift was coming in, this man that was now at the service desk was so apologlic and it wasnt his error...he went to one sceeen scrolled and saw, guess what? That my room was PAID FOR!!!! WE requested a refund and got out of there ASAP. And then they request a $100 cash deposit, I will not. I know Andre did not have that attitude during his interview.
