Amazing stay at the residence inn by Marriott @Residence Inn by Marriott at Milwaukee #TikTokGOStay #hotel #marriott #wisconsin #fyp

What a terrible experience. This was probably the worst hotel I ever stayed at. The floors were vacuumed, but there were several stains, especially on the wood floor in the kitchen. There were crumbs and food stains on the counter and even on the couch. One of my beds had a hair in it, and the toilet was not caulked to the floor and was wobbly. I'm pretty sure that's not up to code lol. The lobby was under construction during my stay, which is fine, but that's no excuse for the hotel staff to be nonexistent at the front desk. I had to come back to check in because there was no one there the morning I showed up.

Very disappointing to find new construction already in this disrepair in the bathrooms. Looking at it shows that it is shoddy construction to begin with. The orange mold was in every crevice of the shower. The fan covering in the bathroom had that thick layer of dust showing that daily and weekly maintenence is not happening. The smudge/smear and the hair on the bathroom door was disgusting. We requested the next day that there was more cleaning of the bathroom...the majority of these issues remained. The staff is very friendly, and the overall hotel is beautiful.

Pros: Good location with easy access to downtown Milwaukee, nearby grocery stores, restaurants, and retailers. Area felt fairly safe. Building felt somewhat newer, although there were a few examples of shoddy workmanship and poor maintenance in our room. Staff was mostly friendly. Hotel was quiet thanks to a strict no party, no noise after 10pm policy.

Cons: Housekeeping. Virtually non-existent. We stayed for 7 nights. We were told to expect housekeeping service after every 2 nights. This alone is a bit of an annoyance for me, as I'm paying full price for the room every night, it's not like I get a discount for every 2 nights I stay. If a different person stayed in this room every night, the room would receive housekeeping every day. But I digress.

We did not receive any housekeeping service after night 2 as promised (actually I take that back, someone stopped in our room to clean our ice bucket and replace our dishwasher detergent. Literally nothing else). We went down to the front desk to mention this to the front desk worker and to request replacements of amenities such as coffee, towels, dishwasher detergent, and toilet paper. We were told to stop at the front desk in the morning and request service that day, which we did. We briefly returned to our room at 1pm that next day to find that nothing was done. I stopped by the front desk again to confirm that our room was still scheduled to receive service and I was informed (by the same front desk worker I talked to that morning) that the housekeeping staff was getting ready to go home and that I wasn't scheduled to receive service until the following day (after our 4th night). After expressing frustration at the situation, I insisted that they come up to our room to empty our overflowing trash cans and replace towels and other amenities. To my surprise, they actually did (and did a full clean of the room), despite forgetting to refill coffee and toilet paper. But this would be the last time for the rest of our stay that anything significant happened.

After nights 4 and 5, nobody visited our room to do anything. It became a running joke for our family to guess whether anything had been done on the way up to our room in the evening. After night 5, I was finally able to speak to the housekeeping supervisor, who was very apologetic for the situation and assured me that our room would be serviced the next day. To her credit, the trash was taken out and some of our towels replaced the next day, but literally nothing else was done.

So all in all, on our 7 night stay, we received 1 mostly-full servicing of our room after practically begging the front desk twice, and two other below-bare-minimum effort refresh visits. We never put up the do not disturb tag, we never declined service, our room was completely vacant during most housekeeping hours, and there was nothing in our room that might have dissuaded a housekeeper from entering. Managers were never available during the hours that we were at the hotel, so I wasn't able to discuss this issue with them.

I'm really not unreasonable with expectations when it comes to housekeeping. I don't need a full clean done and my sheets replaced and bed made every day. But I do expect to not have overflowing trash cans. I expect to not have to go down to the front desk every day to ask for coffee and toilet paper. I expect the housekeeping staff to be capable of spending literally 5 minutes to empty trash cans and restock a couple of things from their cart every day or two. Unfortunately those expectations weren't met...

Hotel looked nice upon arrival. Updated, nice aesthetically. Peter was nice at checkin and suggested Pizza Studio next door after I discovered no oven in our room as advertised when I booked on Marriott Bonvoy account.

No toilet paper in the room when we arrived. Not cool upon arrival after 6 hour car trip with 3 kids! Only 2 bath towels, no bathmat, 2 washcloths. Called Ray at front desk in morning to ask for more towels and he never sent them up. I was forced to go to desk, over an hour after I called him, to get them myself. He was vacuuming the vacant community space in lobby.

Sticky spots on mirror and floor I had to clean up myself. Kitchen floor had a lot of debris from previous guests. Should be broom or small sweeper in rooms.

On Marriott booking it said queen studio/queen suite had oven. Peter said we don’t have rooms with 2 queens and over, but what Marriott sure said. Peter say no rooms available with oven but I got online and it said I could book one. He then told me to get it online, so I ask how do I do that if I’ve already paid for current room, he didn’t suggest a solution. I was afraid to get double charged, so we stayed in inconvenient and unexpected room situation. No oven in our room, real inconvenient with 3 kids. Main reason we book Residence Inn brand.

Saturday night was pure torture. I had to call front desk multiple times, as guest above us on 4th floor sounded like they moving furniture, stomping around, could hear them talking clearly and sounded like water pouring down wall when they used their shower. This began around 10:30pm and didn’t stop until after midnight. Sharon called our room back to see if it stopped, well after 11pm and all 3 of my kids were woken up! She apologized profusely and said she called up to noisy guests but they not answer. Said she’d have to go up there. Sharon said if they don’t stop she’d call police. Her shift ending, night manager will deal. Needless to say, I didn’t sleep much the second night stay. Sharon said it was noted in communication report but at check out no one acknowledged this.

Pool was open with reservations only per guest room, great way to handle pool use during Covid, rather than have it closed. Pool water seemed tinted green, look like a murky...

My recent stay at the Marriott Residence Inn was unfortunately far from satisfactory. Several areas of the property were not well-maintained, and my concerns were largely overlooked.||First, the state of the pool was appalling. The water was a murky, dark gray color, making it impossible to see beyond a few steps into the pool. This was not just a cosmetic issue; it posed a serious health risk. I raised my concerns with the front desk, who acknowledged the issue but disappointingly took no action to close the pool or address the water quality. To my disbelief, I saw guests swimming in it the next morning. It's deeply concerning that such a blatant disregard for hygiene and guest safety was allowed to continue. ||Additionally, the cleanliness of the room bathroom left much to be desired. The bathroom had noticeable black mold growing in the shower and along the tiles. It was evident that thorough cleaning and maintenance were lacking in this area.||Furthermore, the amenities fell short of expectations. We booked a room with a sofa sleeper for my children, but there were not enough pillows and blankets provided. After requesting additional bedding from the front desk, we were met with uncertainty and eventually received them, albeit with a pillow missing its case. Moreover, the sofa sleeper mattress was uncomfortable, with springs poking through, making it impossible for my kids to get a decent night's sleep.||Overall, this stay was incredibly disappointing. My children were looking forward to using the pool, which unfortunately was not an option due to its unsanitary and unsafe conditions. Despite reaching out to Marriott Corporate for assistance, the local management failed to follow up as promised. To add to the frustration, the compensation offered was only partial (I paid with points, and they only reimbursed me half) which reflects poorly on Marriott's commitment to quality and customer support.||I regret to say that I cannot recommend this Marriott Residence Inn based on my experience. The issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service are significant and need immediate attention. As a loyal Marriott member, I hope that these concerns are addressed promptly to restore trust and uphold the standards expected of the...
