The hotel was generally well kept and seemed to be a decent best western, but there was one item in particular during our stay that ensures we won’t EVER be back here no matter what the circumstances. Upon check in, the person issuing our key card was friendly and courteous, but when we parked in the side of the hotel to go to our room, we noticed the absolutely overflowing trash can that was well overdue for replacement. We proceeded to the room, and everything appeared to be fine for our stay other than the oddity that the shower faucet was reversed from a normal faucet operation. But then, as my wife and I and our young (less than 2 yrs old) son were eating our “to go” breakfast at the table in the room, our son happened to drop a piece of food on the floor in the corner that I then proceeded to reach over to pick up, and what I found next was truly appalling. There were several pieces of dog feces that I presume to be weeks or months old! I can only assume we didn’t smell it because it was so old, but we were absolutely stunned that this area hadn’t been cleaned in presumably weeks or longer. We were also concerned about the “what if’s” of if our son happened to find it before we did and tried to play with it or even eat it as kids tend to do with new things. We cleaned up our things (and cleaned up the dog feces) and checked out soon after. I reported the situation to the front desk (same person as was there upon check in) and all that was said was “we’ll take care of it; thanks for letting us know”. I was even further appalled by the response (or lack thereof) by the front desk with no sense of urgency to truly deal with such a problem. It was as if this was a regular occurrence to them, furthering my disgust. I wasn’t fishing for a discounted room or to get anyone in trouble, but finding those “little presents” and the lack of emotion from the front desk after being notified of the situation makes me wonder what else may not be getting cleaned here (especially during a time of supposed “increased cleaning measures”). I know this has been a long winded review, but if you made it this far, I would highly recommend seeking alternative accommodations. I hope this doesn’t happen to...
Read moreI was checking out this morning with a different person then I checked on with. She asked about my stay and I told her it was horrible. I told her that the night I checked in the lady was very rude and threatened to kick my husband and I out because he had questioned why we did not get a balcony that we paid for. Once my husband questioned the rude angry lady she grabbed the room keys from his hand and stated I can check you out. How would you like that. He asked her why she was lying to him and she stated you're not getting anything for free. He said he didn't want anything for free he just wanted what he paid for. She said you get what I give you. We took the keys because we have paid in advance and would lose all that money as she stated we would not get a refund. As I was trying to finish with check out the rude lady appeared and told the lady helping me that I was not to get a receipt because I did not book with them but online. I said I was doing what was asked and that was to bring the keys to the front desk to check out. I looked at the girl and said that's her. She was the one that grabbed the keys out of my husband's hand and threatened to kick us out for asking a question. The rude lady said I can do and say what I want. As I was walking away the rude lady yelled DONT COME BACK. I DONT WANT PEOPLE LINE YOU HERE. I was half way down the hall and could hear her very clearly and another quest that was passing by asked who was that. I said the rude lady at the desk. She was mad because my husband asked why he paid extra for a balcony and didn't get it. The gentleman looked at me and said you too. I have never been treated like this by anyone in customer service. This lady is bad for this business and does not like dealing with people. I've stayed at best western before but this will be the last time because...
Read moreWe booked a room the morning of our stay. We were travelling and unsure of where we would be. We got the only room available which was a kitchen suite (without any kitchenware) that we had to pay extra for and it was expensive.
We were travelling with our service dog. Only room available was on the second floor but access to the grass area was easy. The river walk is nice.
Our room was on the river side which provided a great view. But after driving over 750 miles, it wasn’t important. Balcony door lock is broken.
Wanted to watch the NHL semifinal game but couldn’t get a guide or navigate the menu. Called the front desk and were told that the TVs were new and didn’t have a guide set up but that we could scroll through all the 138 channels to see what was available and that was “the best way to pick the one we want”. It would sure be helpful to have a guide.
Went to have a bath but the drain plug was not installed, nor could it be because it wasn’t set up properly. Shower pressure was good as was the water temperature. Would have liked to have a soak though.
Rooms are noisy. Not sure if the noise above was a jacuzzi tub. Noise coming from outside, or ? not sure from where. Doors close very noisily. 3 times during the night the train went by on the other side of the river. They sure make use of their train whistle!
Room has been renovated and looks nice but kitchen chairs are wobbly. Barstool chairs are too high for the counter.
Carpets are new.
Tuesday night. 22:10 train goes by 4 times with the noise trains make. Neighbors leave 22:05 doors slam shut, return at 22:21 doors slam shut. Now can hear...
