The O’Haire Motor Inn is a terrific “experience.”
It’s unique, it’s retro and it’s fun!
The rooms are clean, the management is caring and friendly. The food in the restaurant is very good - and the Sip ‘n Dip Lounge is beyond special.
On another note... Honestly, I just don’t understand why people who review the place actually complain that it’s “dated.”
Of course it is!
It’s supposed to be!
It’s a chance to experience what life was like in America during the 60s and 70s. That IS the experience. That is the point!
-Are great songs from the 60s and 70s “dated?”
-Is the White House “dated?”
-Is The Wizard of Oz “dated?”
-Is the Mona Lisa “dated?”
-Should Mount Rushmore be chipped away to now feature the heads of Presidents Trump, Obama, Bush and Clinton?
-Is a Motor Inn which is actually supposed to represent the 1960s/1970s experience, “dated?”
Hope that illustrates my point....
Yes, it’s dated.
Why??
Because it’s supposed to be!!!
You want granite countertops and contemporary art In your room?? Book a stay at the Ritz.
The O’Haire Motor Inn is clean, it’s campy, it’s comfortable, it’s fun - and yes, it’s the 60s and 70s experience, personified.
The O’Haire Motor Inn is highly recommended from my stays.
It’s CLEAN and comfortable!
Such an enjoyable place.
Such nice people.
Such a great...
Read moreI love this place, but I have to admit it’s not for everyone. If you want to be transported back to 1962, this is a great place to stay. The owners have done a good job of renovating it without totally changing its character.||It’s not some generic hotel you won’t remember the next day, but the vibe is unlike any other hotel life stayed in. The staff is proud of their hotel. Their historic photos all over the place. ||I stayed here on a motorcycle trip to Alaska. This was a key stop for me and my friends were jealous they couldn’t join me.||I was in room 131, a corner suite. It was nice. I could park my motorcycle inside a short walk from the entrance to my room.||The room was spotless. I liked the mermaid painting above my bed. The bed was too far from my liking and I like a firm bed. I still slept well.||Of course, if you stay here, you’re going to visit the Sip’n Dip lounge upstairs for the mermaids at the tiki bar.||The hotel has a full-service restaurant. It was cold rainy when I arrived so I ate dinner there. I had a shrimp pasta dish that was just OK. I did see some enormous tasty looking appetizers pass by me so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.||The eggs Benedict I had for breakfast was really good. Huge oversize thick slices of ham on top of English muffins with poached eggs slathered with hollandaise...
Read moreI would rather sleep in my car than experience what happened to me at the O'Hare in Sept. 2012. As a legally blind, disabled person I was denied a room because I could not show a driver's licence, which I do not have. I produced my health card, birth certificate and Visa to no avail. The manager commemted I did not look blind to him; as I had no white cane or a service dog. I asked him what a blind person looks like. He asked if I was accusing him of discrimination - I replied yes. I asked him to call the police. The police officer replied I did not look blind to him, at which point I showed him my CNIB card. He asked what CNIB stood for; Canadian National Institue for the Blind)n He replied it was not acceptable ID and did Canadians not have a National Identity Card. We do not. I found out later that the O'Hare violated an Act of Congress, the American Disability Act , you cannot deny accomodation to a person because of race, disability etc. I have never been treated so shabbily any where in my life. We are Senior citizens, I am a retired teacher and we travelled for two months this summer without incident. The O'Hare in the city of Great Falls should be ashamed of themselves if this is the way they treat their...
