I went to the Wild Hare as a touted Sports Bar to watch a football game that I couldn’t watch at home. The Cowboys-Panthers game was the nationally telecasted game that I could have watched at home, but had zero interest in with the Panthers at 1 win being the worst team in NFL. As an NFC North guy, I positioned my seat to watch the Bears-Lions game on the big screen. Not exactly a blockbuster, but as good a game as available. The Bears were on the verge of an upset at the beginning of the 4th quarter with an 8 point lead. I had invested 2 hours of my life watching this game. Then they turned it off and replaced it with the miserable Cowboy game who had a 23 point lead over the worst team in the NFL. I was done. I asked my waitress what happened and how I could watch the game I’d been watching for the last 2 hours that they turned off without my consent. No luck and no action taken. As it ends up, nothing happened and the Cowboys won by the same 23 points. Boring. The Lions came back and won, for an 8-2 record that is among the best in the league. I’m 68 years old and have never been to a sports bar where they would involuntarily with no communication switch the game you’ve invested 2 hours in to watch the most boring irrelevant game ever, while the game you were watching was exciting. The food was good, the service was good. I don’t know what they have for incompetent management, but this is the worst sports bar I have ever been to in my life. I have never been to a sports bar where they would change a game without having the courtesy of checking who was watching it. Horrible. Horrible. Never go there if you want to watch a sporting contest. Absolutely the worst sports bar in Great Falls, and that...
Read moreI understand bouncers have to be a little domineering, but that one neckbeard fatazz who looks like he’s gonna drop dead from a heart attack tomorrow needs to chill out. My girlfriend accidentally bumped into him and he didn’t even look before shoving her and yelling profanities at her. She hadn’t even started drinking yet. The other two bouncers who were there said that the guy is just flat out a jerk, unnecessarily so.That job seems to inflate his ego a little bit. If the owner (Matt) reads this, I’d advise you to talk to the other bouncers about this guy because they obviously see him the most. I almost filed a police report, my girlfriend was in a state of shock after the whole situation. We left shortly after. This seems to be a recurring problem according to the other bouncers and some...
Read moreI love the Hare and I go every week for trivia. The servers are awesome, trivia is amazing, and they have good rotating beers/drinks. BUT the food has gone way downhill over the past few months. I used to look forward to getting a burger the whole week. Now the meat in the patties is weird and the fries are different. All the portions are way smaller. The ribs taste like microwaved leftovers. They get points for creativity with dishes on the new menu, but the execution just isn’t there. Their old menu was rock solid and ingredients seemed fresh. The new menu seems like they’re just trying to be different from “usual bar food” for the sake of being different. The selection is definitely different, but I think they’ve sacrificed taste and quality in pursuit...
