The Kitchen @ The Wild Hare — Restaurant in Great Falls

This is the highest rated place to eat in all of a Great Falls, (4.8 on Google and the only 5.0 on Yelp) and that includes “Smoked American BBQ” (which is near perfection). It’s for one reason - the most important reason - the food. The food here is OUTSTANDING. I can say with confidence that this is the best burger I’ve ever eaten. That’s saying something considering how good the burgers are at Wisconsin Burger and Stockwells’s in Spokane, Kelly’s in Newport, WA or In-N-Out in SoCal. Yes, it’s that good.

I ordered the “Brad’s All American”. It’s made with 8oz. of locally sourced, grass-fed beef, “smash” style. The All American is exactly as it’s named with everything on it a burger should have. The trick here is execution and they nailed it.

Then there’s the fries - pure bliss. Show-string style, crispy but not overdone, hot and seasoned correctly. These are also quite possibly the best fries I’ve ever had.

So what isn’t perfect here? The Dr. Pepper was flat. The lighting sucks and the ambience is lacking. It’s also kind of confusing to find the actual order window and where you will sit. And guess what? It doesn’t matter. The food is that good. Maybe they’ll figure out how to gas the soda and improve the feel of the place - which are relatively easy fixes. The thing that matters most, the taste and quality of the the food, is a 100% Bull’s Eye.

Service was prompt and friendly. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality and the portions. You will get plenty to eat and it’s GOOD.

Huge sandwiches! We decided to stop here on a whim as the smells were great, lots of customers fot lunch and it had a clean and well maintained building.

The set up is designed to be easy, about 8-10 choices on the menu: 2 salad, 4 sandwich, 2 burger and some sides. My wife and I each order a sandwhich (avg cost $11-$13). Boy, do you get your money's worth. One half of the sandwhich was what I expected to be the entire thing. Plus they come with a side (salad, potato salad, coleslaw or pasta). We wanted to, but couldn't finish the sandwiches, so we took them with us to eat for dinner.

This is the second time we’ve eaten here. The first time everything was super fresh, healthy tasting, and hot. The lady serving us was extremely attentive and helpful. We had a lot of questions and she answered them all. She seemed genuinely interested in our experience. Today I would say the food was above average and the server was polite enough, but definitely not to the level of the last lady. The sausages were a good size and those and the eggs were served hot. The biscuit and jam was great too. The potatoes had been on keep warm for a while and were a little old so that was a little disappointing but I understand everything can’t be perfect every time.
