Bad experience the night we checked in till the day we checked out. The building is old and the rooms have not been updated or renovated. The paint in the bathroom was peeling, the room was not properly cleaned. There was an empty water bottle behind the nightstand, the phone didn't work and the microwave wasn't working properly. The night we checked in there was an argument outside our 2 nd room window at 3 am that lasted too long. There is a bar/ restaurant in the hotel. Overall our experience was not pleasant. On the day of our Anniversary we were ready to leave but needed more towels and noticed the cleaning lady outside our room so asked for towels and noticed an ant on them. We informed the manager. we requested to change our room because of the argument that happened when we checked in, and were able to, but we were checked out after moving our stuff to the new room. When we came back from visiting family we couldn't get into the room. This location needs a lot of TLC and updates. My family and I will not staying there again. I wouldn't recommend this location. Pay the extra $50-$100 and stay somewhere else.

In 2023, it is hard to believe that a hotel of this poor quality exists by Holiday Inn. As a result of my stay I will never stay at another Holiday Inn again; because, it is clear that their corporate office does not do adequate and timely inspections of their properties. I am completely taken back that a hotel in such a prime location (that is literally right next to such a well know establishment as Martin’s Crosswinds) would have such unclean and poorly outdated rooms. Especially, since this is such a busy hotel. It almost makes me wonder how so many people are willing to have such low standards just to be conveniently located. I normally would not write this type of review, however I have a 3 year old and 6 year old that I brought here hoping to give them a good experience while I “conveniently” attended an event at Martin’s and even they wanted to go home which completely derailed my weekend plans. As a result, I wanted my voice to be heard. I hope this is helpful to someone. Please note the photos!

For a 3 star hotel I feel it is very battered. The hallway carpet reminds me of the Movie Shining. 600$ for a room with two double beds, for 5 nights are very cheap. But we did not know that cheap means battered and defective. The door to the room opens only with force, the bathroom door should not be closed from the outside because otherwise it locks itself. The beds are good, the room is spacious. The room has no mainlight. Only 2 Lamps at the Bed. And one lamp at the entry. There are no holders for wet towels. There is a free coffee machine in the lobby. If you are lucky more than hot water comes out. For 4 people only 2 towels were provided, also shower gel and shampoo there was only 1 tiny bottle. The service staff is very friendly. Update: there is no Bar. Update 2: They don't even care about the Review Answers anymore... > Thank you for sharing your notes about your recent stay at the “Name of the Hotel”.

I had a 5 night stay at this location. I chose this hotel due to it's close proximity to the Goddard space flight center. Check in was normal and pretty uneventful. I was told that I could refuse housekeeping to earn an extra 500 reward points per day. Great, count me in! I go up to my room and everything is as expected. Until I went to take a shower. There was a 7 inch gaping crack in the bottom of the tub. The kind of crack that could catch the skin on the bottom of your feet if you stepped on it. It looked like it has been prepped to be patched but never finished. The tub also didn't drain properly, so standing water would leak out of the crack to who knows where. It was late night so I decided to ask for a room change the next day.

Day 2: I stopped at the front desk after working to ask for a room change. I told them about the tub, and they said they wouldn't rent out the room in that condition but would get me another room anyway. That's when their computers went down. So they tried to get them working for 30-45, and finally resorted to their paperwork to find me a vacant room. They do, and issue me a new room key. I go up to my 1st room and pack my things and head over to the new room. There was a do not disturb card in the key card reader and I could hear voices inside. I am glad I didn't open the door. I take all of my things back to the first room and head back to the front desk. Now there are a couple more people trying to check in with the same amount of difficulty as my room change. I get my turn at the desk and tell them about the occupied room. They looked confused and presumed it must have been a stay over. They issued me a new room key and I head back upstairs. I gather my things again and head to the new room. The room is vacant so I move in. Everything looks to be in order except not tissue in the bathroom and the ac smelled of smoke. After they previous issues I decide to suck it up, and stay. Later that evening, around 11pm, I can hear someone trying to get into my room with a room key. I stay silent and listen to them try a few times. The woman that was trying was walking away and when turned when I opened the door. She said this was her room and that she had checked in earlier in the day. She said it isn't my fault and stormed off. About 30 minutes later two of the front desk clerks knocked on my door and apologized for the confusion. Mind you it is after midnight now. I assumed they were going to make me move again, but they assured me that I could stay.

The rest of the stay was normal. They hotel could really use some updating and the elevator buttons don't always work. Also, I was told I would only be getting the 500 point credit for 2 of my 5 nights even though I received no housekeeping on any of the nights. I have to return in a few months but can't really say I want to come back to this hotel. Even with the...

Although had to wait until 3:00 pm to check in - the problems began while checking in. The two staff at the front counter were very professional. The hotel held $100.00 for incidentals. [NOT as Problem] However, we were told that breakfast would be served down the hall. They failed to state that "IT WOULD COST OVER $10.00 a piece"

The next morning we went into the restaurant and no one was there to serve us or seat us. So we sat and served ourselves with COLD FOOD and NO beverages. While serving ourselves at the self serve line, a woman approached and asked if we had 'vouchers' - I gave her our room number and she said - "NO voucher - you have pay $10.xx apiece!" Since we already had our plates with food on them, I stated that we would pay and she said the same thing over 4 times. I went to the table, left my food and went out to the front desk - there I was told that because of the price we paid for our room we were not eligible for vouchers.

I went back and the woman in the restaurant stopped me at the door and said - did you get the vouchers - I stated no and will pay. I asked how much and she again stated "did you get the vouchers" I explained that the hotel was holding money for incidentals and could she put it on our room.

She said NOL. I pulled two $20.00 bills out and said I would pay immediately. She then said "I can't cash that much" and asked if I had a $1.00 and I pulled out a $1.00 and gave her $21.00. I asked for a receipt and she walked off.

She came back and my wife complained about the hard - cold sausage and the eggs and over cooked bacon. She then told my wife she would get some more sausage. We also asked for juice [NONE] and coffee. [NONE].

The waitress did bring five SLIGHTLY warmed sausage links.

We then left. WITHOUT a receipt for the breakfast.

I asked for a manager at the front desk to complain. I spoke to one, later in the day.

ALSO the back door, coming into the hotel had a sign outside that warned to be careful due to steps. However, being handicapped, when we left the hotel (parked in back do to being close to the door and minimal steps) the door had NO WARNING on the inside - almost tripped TWO times leaving the hotel.

OVERALL, we were not warned about having to pay for breakfast - NO ONE offered to give us fresh towels (had two in room) or clean the room - and the lack of warning signs on the back door for the STEP down -

The hotel is under construction/improvements and PERHAPS these problems will be fixed...

No breakfast because the kitchen was being "renovated".

The rooms wasn't clean, the beds wasn't properly made. It looked like a 2 year old made the beds. Thank God the bed covers were clean.

The bathroom wasn't clean. The shower was awful, I don't know if it was mold or dirt. I took a shower in flip flops.

The housekeepers were unprofessional and rude. They were walking around with ear buds in, phones in their faces and acting like they don't care. I guess they don't care because the hotel so short staffed they aint worried about getting fired. One lady on my floor asked one housekeeper had she been down to her room yet, I guess she needed something. The employee ignored her (she heard that woman). The lady repeated herself like twice. Finally, the employee snapped back and said "that ain't my room". Didn't offer to assist the lady or nothing and rolled her little thingy on.

I was there from Thursday-Sunday and not one time did housekeeping knock on the door, bring clean towels, empty the trash or make our beds. To get additional towels, we had to bag our used towels up & go down to the service desk. They told one lady that called for towels, "if we find some towels we will bring them to you? Wayment....Find some towels? Somebody said a worker said they have nobody to wash towels so they just sitting in the laundry room. I don't know how true it is but being people wasn't getting clean towels and how short staffed they are, it may be true. Had to ask for toilet paper too smh.

Let's not talk about the front desk, you would be lucky to catch someone at the front desk because that person was having to run around and probably jump in where needed.

We had an ironing board with no iron. Rooms had no iron, what the hek we need an ironing board for? We asked for an Iron and finally got one Friday evening sometime. We didn't take it back either until checkout.

People that previously stayed at this hotel was disappointed. They said it has went downnnnnnn. Honestly, I want my money back bc I drove from NC to stay in an unprofessional mess. The only good part is the hotel location. We were able to get out, explore, shop and eat a restaurants we...
