Out of all the k.bbq chicken franchises we've been to locally, Greenbelt definitely is on the bottom of the list to frequent. We love the cheesling option but this location is very stingy with it. Look at what it's supposed to be on the official website or any other locations with pictures on the reviews and then look at my picture from this Greenbelt location. The cheesling is supposed to fully cover the chicken and fries, at Greenbelt, it barely covers the chicken properly. Other locations, they give you so much cheesling your mouth is dry taking a bite - in a good way. I ordered cheesling fries and it clearly states on my receipt that I ordered it but I did not receive it. Probably my fault for not double checking - so if you do happen to order from here, don't trust them to get your order right. Other k.bbq locations leave a mound of cheese powder on your fries and chicken, this location does their best to not do that. Unfortunately this was not my first visit and on my first visit, the fries and chicken were also barely covered with the cheesling powder. I had hoped the second time I visited, they would redeem themselves and that the first visit was a fluke but the reality is, that's just the way they prepare the food at this location. We love k.bbq chicken and it's unfortunate that this one is not up to the standards of the other...
Read moreI LOVE THEIR CHICKEN! I've been a KFC loyalist for most of my life, but my life has changed for the better the instant I tried BBQ Chicken. BBQ Chicken is much crispier than others. There are plenty of new Korean flavors to choose from. KFC is considered fast food, chicken is fried and put in a heated oven until it's purchased, but BBQ is made fresh once you put in the order. Once you pay, the order is sent to the kitchen, and made fresh, just like any other normal sit down restaurant. It is NOT fast food. Am I willing to wait an extra 10-15 minutes for my food? ABSOLUTELY.
I consider myself a fried chicken connoisseur. I eat fried chicken at least twice a week. (Bless my heart) I used to eat every other day, but I'm older now. I love my KFC, Popeye's, Church's, Kennedy's, Crown, Royal, Pollo Campero etc. Every one of them has a special place in my heart. Different spices, flavors and different frying methods. BBQ stands out from all of the above. The Korean flavors are new and exciting, some are sweet and tangy, others are spicy or mild. It never gets boring, the Korean hype is real. Go home, open up your BBQ fried chicken box and enjoy it with an ice cold beer. That's the only way to do...
Read moreI ordered the deluxe lunch combo, Gangnam style with fried rice and pickled radish on the side. The wings were really good, it had a spicy kick to it. I would definitely order this flavor and chicken from here again. The fried rice and steamed veggies were flavorless, the veggies were steamed to mush... I am glad I asked for yum yum sauce. Next time I would get another side and skip the steamed veggies all together. If you ok with just one side of pickled radish, I think there may be no need to order it on the side; because I got extra with my order, which I don't mind because I will just eat them alone as a snack.
Also this location used to be hibachi and wings, appears they still have the full menu from hibachi and wings available to order. So they have other korean cuisine like bimbimbap. But there are other better choices for bimbimbap and bulgogli in the area
Update: a year ago I gave it 4 stars. The quality is so bad now. The chicken smothered in sauce had no flavor and didn't taste fresh. Won't make the mistake of buying...
