We’ve been here when the staff has been incredibly sweet to my children. Those were good experiences. Yesterday was not one of those.
Dear Starbucks Employee: If you have the chance to make someone’s day better, please take it. When sweet, non-misbehaving, and polite children try to engage you in friendly play (which you initiated at a previous visit and they were excited to re-engage in because they thought you liked them and they thought they liked you) and you brush them off dismissively, you’ve needlessly hurt two little hearts. How you treat powerless people matters. Children are powerless. All day long, adults—who have a lot of power over them—treat them like they’re invisible or annoying nuisances. Children are human beings. Don’t say things to them you wouldn’t say to an adult. Starbucks drinks and food don’t matter and I know you don’t care whether I spend money on overpriced drinks and mediocre food or not. But the human interactions do matter. People matter. PG county is a hard place to live. Life is hard in general and especially hard right now.
If you have the chance to be kind, take...
Read moreThe only pleasant thing about this location are the people who made my drinks and took my order. Everything in between was complete chaos waiting around for my drink. I looked at a cup and asked for the price to see if it was on sale and was told the prices at the bottom also I went to the end of the bar closest to the door waiting for my muffin and a guy looked at me and said do you have a mobile order I said no but I’m waiting for my muffin and you’re making Pastries right here so I figured I would wait here and he says no you’re supposed to wait down there at the end, I digress with that situation so I asked the lady to check the price of the cup and she’s like oh we’re really busy and backed up. I’m sorry while she’s holding a clipboard bullshitting doing nothing. It took me five minutes to wait for my drink and an extra five minutes on top of it to wait for my pastry item because the guy is down here doing mobile orders instead of taking care of the people that are standing in...
Read moreOrdered three traveler jugs the night before to be picked up at 7:30am. When coworker went to pick them up they couldn’t find the order, hadn’t started working on them so it was 8:30 by the time the order was ready. Everyone makes mistakes, and I was trying to roll with the punches and not get upset. I asked for a refund and was granted it but had to go into the store. Fine. The part I’m the most upset about is how I was treated in the store. The employees were surely and cold. No one apologized to say, “we really regret the hour you lost from you day and the event, but we’re doing the best we can. We’ll try to do better next time.” Instead everyone barely spoke to me, treated me like it was my fault when I asked how to order differently to avoid this, etc. I wasn’t super mad when I entered the store, despite the hour delay in my coffee order and making me late to work, but I was super mad by the time I left because of the way the employees...
