Wow! This place was awesome. The place was well lit, felt clean and comfortable, and had many extra touches to make you feel like you are on a vacation. Front desk employees were super helpful, giving us ideas of where to go, etc. Check in was flawless. Room was comfortable, clean and roomy. Comfortable bed, and comes with a sofa/couchbed. Great place to sit and relax. Furniture was plentiful. Hanging armoire, drawer dresser, and a large (bench-like) area to keep all of our suitcases off the floor. The entranceway was tiled, and there was a small "kitchen area" there. Decent sized mini fridge, clean coffeemaker and microwave(didn't use that). The bathroom was airy, modern and clean. The sink had a liquid handsoap and lotion dispenser. The shower had a triple dispenser with body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Cleverly put towels draped under the sink so you don't need to stare at the plumbing pipes. |Indoor pool and hottub looked inviting, but we didn't use them. There were some computers available in the lobby for public use, and a coffee station open 24/7. The breakfast was the nicest I have ever seen! Aside from yogurts, boiled eggs, milk, cereal, oatmeal, juice, coffee, tea... there were 4 hot food stations, fresh hot cinammon buns, breads and packaged muffins with a toaster, and a pancake machine. Press a button and get your pancake. There were syrups, sauces, spreads, etc. Pretty much anything you could want for breakfast. |Outdoors, there is a fenced off area with round tables, along with umbrellas. Great, clean place to BBQ and enjoy the beautiful weather.|Pictures represent actuality exactly. Definitely my nicest...
Read moreOverall, the rooms were very clean, good breakfast, and overall very nice facility. However, if you have pets, especially elderly, even with paying the pet fee expect no additional help based on my experience. I requested a room closer to the exits because of two elderly dogs who have difficulty/impossible ability to get up and downstairs and walk long distances. I was instead put in the middle of the hotel on the second floor in the farthest possible room from exits. I tried to deal with it one night of my stay, and brought it up to the front desk staff immediately the next morning when I had to carry my dogs overnight outside in order to go to the bathroom. Ultimately, I had to request a friend drive six hours round-trip to pick up the dogs and watch them while I finished my business in the area. This resulted in a decrease of one day of stay, and no interest in staying at this hotel in the future. There certainly were numerous rooms open at my time of check-in based on the numerous pending reservations as well as knowing multiple people also staying that came in after me and got rooms much closer to the exits. It is frustrating that they had no compassion towards elderly animals. Of note, my dogs did require medication and that was the primary reason I had them with me to ensure that their care continued. It’s unfortunate that the hotel was unwilling to work with me regarding elderly dogs. The hotel was willing to allow me to leave the one night early without charging me for that night, so I am...
Read moreI've been staying at HI properties for 20 years as a business traveler and I've never had this many problems at one hotel.
This trip was for vacation with my wife, so we requested "at least 6 pillows" when I made the reservation months in advance. Only the usual 4 were on the bed when we arrived, so we asked the front desk for a couple more. Hours later, we had to go down and ask again, and waited until someone went and retrieved them.
We were told the cable TV was out when we checked-in, but that it would be on later that evening. I turned the TV on every morning and evening (we were there for 4 nights) and it never worked.
The elevator on our side of the building only worked intermittently. The last day, they finally closed the door to the elevator and put an "out of order sign" on it. We were on the 3rd floor and used the stairs. Great exercise, but I wasn't there to exercise.
On the third day, our room was never made up. We were out all day and did not leave the "privacy" sign on the door. We re-used our towels like we do at home, but we shouldn't have had to.
We were visiting a friend who had recently moved to Gunnison and actually lived at this hotel for his first 3 weeks in town. He shared that he also experienced similar problems during his stay. This is the nicest hotel in town and it is a shame that it seems to have such...
