Tributary Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in Gunnison

A review from an actual local, not just one of Google's "Local Guides":

I'm not big on leaving internet reviews, but I have come to the conclusion that I must leave a review for Tributary. Specifically, this review is for the cappuccino. I have been to every coffee shop in the valley - from Gothic to Gunnison - and I have to say that Tributary makes THE BEST cappuccino. It's as good, if not better, than some cappuccinos I've had in fancy, overpriced coffee houses in big cities. The espresso is rich, the espresso:milk:foam ratio is just right, and most importantly the foam is the absolute perfect density.

It's not that other coffee shops have bad cappuccinos persay, but the quality really seems to vary depending on who's behind the bar. Tributary makes a consistently great drink, no matter the barista.

This was a decent roastery. My mom and nephew really liked the coffee, the hot chocolate was pretty good. Some of the pastries were excellent somewhere just okay. We had gotten extra to go. But I know my mom wants to go back there next time we're in Gunnison. I thought it was quite expensive for what it was. And even a bag of coffee beans 12 oz for 14 bucks seems like a lot. I know some of the places charge that much while others are giving a whole pound for $15. I don't know I guess anyone can charge it they want. But I didn't buy any from here. I have a friend that likes Detroit coffee from different places so I bring him some sometimes. That's it. It's still worth stopping in, just plan on dropping larger bills to pay for...

Nice, clean modern coffee shop right in the middle of town. I was greeted promptly and service was fast and polite. I miss the character of The Bean but this place should do well here. One less star because the breakfast sandwich was weird. Served on what I would call an English biscuit or scone - somewhat crusty and sweet and too small for the generous ham and egg filling. This made it difficult to pick up or cut with the fork provided. I liked the decor, cleanliness of the floor, attentive service and the comfortable sound level.
