When I arrived, I walked into a room where there was sticky residue left on the night table and the beds were clearly not serviced from the last guest. The sheets were untucked, dirty, and the comforter had just been thrown back over. The shower had mold growing around the edging. I called and the very kind man working that night immediately put me in another room and, because the elevator was not working, he even brought the keys. The new room was better, however, it was also problematic. There was clear mildew on the sheets and the shower curtain was disgusting to the point I didn’t want to touch it. The tub itself was quite stained with rust or something else. I understand that hotels get old and in a town known for steel there could be hard water problems causing rust. However, it seems that overall the housekeeping staff is doing a very poor job of cleaning and changing linens. The next morning at breakfast, there were a bunch of staff just standing around gossiping and talking about their night, talking about some inappropriate situations for some of the children in the room. Just classless. I won’t stay there again. But I do want to say that the gentleman working the desk the night of my stay was great. He’s the only person I can say I have any faith in there.

TL;DR mold from AC, elevator issues. I was initially put in room 318. When I walked in, it was insanely humid and smelled like mildew and mold. I’m including a photo of the ac unit inside. After about 20 minutes, I decided I couldn’t stay in there. My kid was going to wake up wheezing, I HAD to ask for another room. When going downstairs to let someone know about the AC/mold/humidity, I used the elevator. When the elevator began to descend, there was a NOTICEABLE sideways jolt and my first thought was “So this is how I’m going to die.” All to say that it was TERRIFYING and significant. The two ladies at the front desk offered to switch my room. I was put into 214. It was better- ish. Didn’t have the mold and mildew smell as much. The next morning I chatted with Gianna, the operations manager. She said someone would follow up with the mold. She also said there was a ticket in for someone to come look at the elevator. Idk. If the elevator is doing what it did, it seems wild that they’d let anyone in it. I took the stairs the rest of the time I was there. I’m not going out like that. This hotel has a mold problem. If you or any people with you have respiratory sensitivities, be careful. And good luck with the elevator, hope you don’t die.

As I was in the area on a much needed get away in which I was taking a brief Ski 🎿 trip. I decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Express, after stopping by a few other places close by. To my Surprise, all of my expectations were met and even Surpassed!!! Friendly Reception, Respectful Staff, Clean Comfortable Room at an affordable price $ and A Good Breakfast selection in a user friendly environment!!! Need I say more???

2 stars bc of ants in our bed while we were trying to sleep. I told them at checkout in the morning bc I knew the hotel was busy and probably no other room at night to put us in, so I didn't want to call and bother them at night...but when I told them in the morning they couldn't have cared less!!! They just said, "Oh...okay, we will spray the room."

I told them I couldn't sleep bc they crawled on me and my bf was annoyed bc I was up all night which then he also couldnt sleep.... bc after the second one was on me within a few minutes of the first one being on me...that was it. I literally felt like if two were on me within a few minutes they would be continuing to crawl on me all night...and that both times they were on me I was in bed, lights were off, and I was trying to sleep....so needless to say that really made my skin crawl and I couldn't stop worrying about them crawling on me after it happened to me a second time.

Only good thing about the stay was that the hotel was in a good location...but again, the hotel gets only 2 stars bc they didn't care that ants kept me up all night...they literally didn't have any tone in their voice when they responded to me saying this happened and it was like, "oh, ok....we will spray," with not even a hint of concern in their voice...This must happen a lot for two women to just be like, "Oh ok...yeah we will spray," but to not really show any sort of concern for someone that informed them they couldn't sleep bc it happened more than 1x during the night...or not even ask like any questions about the issue...they literally just blew it off.

Anyway, I wouldn't stay again just bc if someone tells you this happens, my opinion is they should have at least said, "Oh, I am sorry that happened," and then they should have asked for more information about it or have any response at all to it, but to literally blow it off and not care at all...I was really just in awe they didnt care one bit, which leads me to think, this is something that happens a lot since there was no shock or anything in their response. I honestly don't know how any bugs being reported in a bed isn't a big deal and how no one was even slightly concerned that I literally did not sleep, other than my bf who was like go to bed and annoyed it was happening, but knew that I couldnt sleep after that and that there were also likely no other rooms...so he was annoyed it happened to us too, but I was really upset bc I couldnt sleep at all....and the fact that we mentioned that I couldnt sleep bc of ants and the people didnt care in the slightest, it was literally the rudest response ever and I wouldnt stay there again thats for sure. The room was 225 I think, so stay clear....and if anyone from the hotel cares, maybe they will see this review and check the room and really actually spray....bc I definitely think that no one cared at all and that no one even did anything to remedy this for other customers in the future. Horrible experience. The whole idea of a hotel room is to be able to sleep....and when you have bugs crawling on you at night....YOU CAN'T SLEEP and for no one to care even in the slightest, or to even pretend to care....I just can't believe this happened. Stay...

Do not stay here if you are planning on using the shuttle service the hotel provides. The shuttle driver, Erik was unprofessional , aggressive and hostile to multiple hotel guests. The General Manager also lacks professionalism and care for guests experiences as we were not given the courtesy or opportunity to provide accurate details of the night. The hotel/ management does not take responsibility of the employees actions.

We were hotel guests from 10/10/24-10/12/24 for our wedding. We had a room block for our wedding guests. The main reason we stayed here was because of the shuttle that could be utilized to bring us back and forth to the wedding venue.

The first incident occurred when I was trying to book a shuttle for the day of the wedding the night before. The employee who has been referred to us as Erik gave me an issue with booking it. The employee was not only unprofessional but also incredibly rude as if I was a bother by asking to schedule a shuttle time. They did not mark it down in the schedule like the other shuttle times have and the next morning the shuttle drive had no record of this time due to the employee not doing what was requested and adding a shuttle time to the schedule. I had paid $75 dollars to use the shuttle during my stay which were for 3 shuttle rides.

The evening of the wedding we were scheduled for pick up lat the wedding venue at 10pm. The wedding ended and all of the guests went and gathered their belongings. It was 10:10 when I first approached the van to apologize and that some of the riders of the shuttle were still getting their things together. This is when the employee scolded me that we asked for 10pm pick up and that they should not have to be there waiting. From there the employee was unprofessional, hostile and aggressive towards not only me but the other guests of the hotel. We confirmed that there were no other scheduled pick ups or drop offs that they needed to leave for however the employee kept insisting that we needed to leave immediately. The way this employee spoke and treated us for 15 minutes was unacceptable. We have several witnesses to this event not only guests of the hotel who were suppose to be riding back in the shuttle but wedding guests who were still leaving the wedding. The employee then stated they were leaving and would not be providing us transportation. The employee shut the doors and sped off in the parking lot leaving six hotel guests abandoned late at night with no transportation. As the employee sped off the van tires kicked up gravel rocks that hit us. This is not something we should have experienced especially on our wedding day. This employees actions does not reflect well for the hotel as a brand or the general managers lack of care for the guests that were affected. The only employee we encountered during all of this that showed professionalism was the...

We arrived at the hotel a little before 11pm and were already very tired. The lady at the front desk did not acknowledge my IHG Rewards Club membership status and didn't thank me for coming back. Neither of which was critical. I asked politely if there is a bathtub in my room and she responded yes, so we got our key cards and took the elevator.

When we got to the room, we saw that there was no tub. It was a shower with a 1-2 inch step in. So we went downstairs immediately and saw a different person was at the front desk. He was on the computer, so I waited patiently for a few minutes until he finally asked what I want. I told him that there is no bathtub in the room and asked if there is another room that might have a bathtub. That was when Jim lost it and started giving me an attitude. He must had a really bad day, because he was very upset and seemed annoyed that I was even at the hotel. He started complaining that his shift just started and threw papers around, banged on the computer and made noises showing how upset he was. For god's sake, he is in a hospitality business, but hospitable he was surely not. I felt un-welcomed and was sorry that I was even at this hotel.

So in the end, we didn't get any room with a bathtub. Jim didn't have an easy way to find out if such a thing even existed at the hotel. His conclusion was that the rooms still available didn't have one. If there is no such thing at this hotel, it would be nice if they show the info on their website. No where did they describe if the rooms only have shower only rooms. In fact, the website clearly said there is a bathtub in the room!

Other issues to consider:

  1. The elevator was wet with ice and water/soda spill, but the only thing the hotel did was put a slippery cone so they are covered in case you slip and want to sue them.

  2. Room was not cleaned with stains on the carpet. One looked like blood? Didn't give me a sense that this hotel cares about the hygiene or...
