Mold, Bug's, and Greed. AVOID!!!! The weekly rate is doable. For the rate, it seemed like a decent place. We treated our room for bugs. Got matress covers for the beds ... there were literally bugs on the beds when we arrived, but we needed the room. Moved in, paid a week up front. Talked to Ashley, the manager, about how long-term stays work. They let me know they have a 28-day policy . Once you've stayed 28 days, they inspect. If everything's okay, you can stay. Perfect. The pool was closed, and that's actually why we chose this place, but no biggie. The website said waffles and sausage would be served at breakfast. That was just lies in advertising, but we were fine with hot coffee, cold cereal, and bagles. We were pretty happy in our moldy room, though. We stayed about a week and a half before we went to the office and attempted to pay for the next night. They refused the rent. They wanted us to move to a 3rd floor room in a different building. We told the woman in the office that we'd been very up front about our intention to stay a few weeks. We told her we'd talked to Ashley, the manager, and we'd been told it wasn't an issue. It turns out our little moldy room is in the remodeled building. I did notice they'd tried to cover the mold with gunmetal grey paint. When I told the woman who identified herself as Ashley's manager, that Ashley was aware we staying longer she said "Not in my first building you're not!!" She really is proud of that building. If this is their best, I warn you, stay clearrrrr!!! I asked for an accommodation for my husband. He's had several heart attacks and really can't do flights of stairs. They got an attitude and threatened to call the police, which they eventually did. They have us a half hour to get out. They treated us like criminals. My best guess is they accidentally overbooked. Either way, AVOID AVOID AVOID THESE ARE HORRIBLE PEOPLE. The rooms are really sub par too. If you're looking for a weekly motel... you're going to be paying upwards of $2k per month. Don't give it to people that use and abuse families like these people. They put a grandma out on the street proudly this morning for absolutely no reason.

I came to this hotel with my girlfriend and had a great attitude, I had a smooth check in but in the morning before I could wake up at around 11am I got a knock on the door which I answered to no one at the door anymore and thought it was a joke. Shortly after I got another knock while I was in the shower which was a kind and polite woman who was making me aware that the check out time was at 11am and not in the PM which I mistakenly thought. But it started when I received a call from the "general manager" not asking but telling me that check out was at 11am and that I had to leave in the next 20-30 mins which I found inconsiderate cause they didn't tell me BEFORE 11am. Then when I went to check out and went to correct my mistake in thinking I didn't need to check out till 11pm but instead the woman named Morgan H who was in charge of the front who I tried to express my concerns too, didn't even give me a chance to speak before rudely interrupting me with her saying "I dont wanna hear it!" And DEMANDED my room key back then when I tried to get a name for the general manager to find someone who cares more to express my concerns but they didn't even want to give me a name like if they knew what they were doing was wrong. As far as I'm aware there is a good and bad way to handle every situation but the way the morning employee handled it was completely wrong. I have a whole voice recording of the whole conversation along with this video of me trying to get a name from the employee her self but instead ignored me. This customer service needs a BIG improvement because the way the handle is very rude, inconsiderate, and anyone who comes in with a good attitude will end up leaving with a terrible one.

The hotel is conveniently located for the SE Portland and Clackamas/Happy Valley areas. It is quite close to the freeway so there is a lot of road noise. On their web site, they say 'newly renovated rooms'. The room we stayed in didn't appear to have been renovated for decades. The entry door was painted in streaky primer. As we entered, I couldn't help but wonder if this room was even supposed to be rented out. There was a strong smell of air freshener. We didn't request to be moved because we arrived late, were exhausted, and were not planning on sticking around there anyway. Frankly, it didn't appear from the premises that another room was likely to be any better. The door's security lock was inoperable. It was missing half, and appeared to have been ripped off the wall. We had to jam one of the chairs up against the door while we were sleeping. Unfortunately we didn't notice this until after we had unpacked and were ready to go to bed, or we would have insisted on a room change. The flooring was cheap laminate in very poor condition. It had multiple holes, cracks, and damaged areas, and was buckling throughout the room. There were holes in the walls, some poorly patched/repaired with mismatched paint. The TV had clearly been relocated at some point and the former trim wire covers were just ripped out and not repaired or replaced, the tv wires were just dangled across the wall and floor. We briefly attempted to use the heater, but quickly found that it produced a strong smell that was possibly urine.

I have stayed at Sunnyside Inn and Suites before and didn't have any complaints considering how inexpensive it was, compared to other motels in the area. My last stay, however, was horrible! I made my reservation online. When I was checking in, I was told that the room was not booked, even though I had a receipt and confirmation #. I call the travel app I used to reserve my room and customer service said they showed my reservation on their end. They were able to call Sunnyside Inn and get them to okay my refund, but I would have to make a new reservation, which ended up costing more for a smaller room. The room was not clean and the bathroom door had a hole in it and the fan didn't work. If that wasn't bad enough, there was no remote for the TV. I called down to the office and was told that they would look for one, but she didn't think they had any. I asked her what I was suppose to do and she apologized and told me to use my smartphone! Seriously? I was NOT HAPPY! Luckily, about 5 minutes later, maintenance brought me a remote and programmed it for me. Upon checking out, I was told that the $75 charge for incidentals would be released back to my card within several days, 2 weeks later I was going back and forth with my bank and Sunnyside Inn to get my money back. Like I mentioned, I have stayed here many times before and never had a problem, but that stay was a bad experience. Although it left a bad taste in my mouth, I will give them another chance and post a future update.

So, here is my update:

I needed a motel for a couple of days because I just had surgery and couldn't walk very well. The bathroom at my place was upstairs. Sunnyside is close to the hospital, so I decided to give them another chance. THAT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE!

I made a reservation for the day before my surgery and decided to pay for 1 day and then extend our stay because it was cheaper that way. After checking in, we realized they were doing maintenance near our room. We were told it wasn't going to take them long and they'd be moving on to another area of the motel. We were okay with that. While I was in surgery, my boyfriend went to pay for more days. Everything worked out fine and we got to keep the same room. On the way from the hospital, he told me they were still doing construction. He got me settled and went to ask when they would be finished. The woman was extremely rude and said that we weren't supposed to be in that room and we had to move immediately. He said she acted like it was our fault. He asked her why they put us in that room in the first place and then kept us in that room when he extended our stay. She didn't have an answer and was visably agitated. She informed him that the only room available was on the second floor and that we had half an hour. There isn't an elevator, which meant I had to walk up the stairs. My boyfriend explained that we had to switch rooms, but when he told me she gave us half an hour, I knew that wasn't enough time and it was probably going to take that long just to get me moved. I called the front desk and let her know about my surgery and asked if we could have a little more time. Not only was she extremely rude to me, but she had absolutely no compassion while telling me that we still omly had half an hour. That made me very angry, so I told her that I was sorry, but it was going to take us longer than that, but that we would do the best we could.

About one minute later, there was pounding on the door. My boyfriend opened it and it was the rude woman. All I could hear was her screaming and telling him that if we weren't out of that room in half an hour, she was going to call the police on us. I told her to go ahead and call the police to see what they would say. She screamed at us to get out and 86'd us off the property. When my boyfriend asked for his money back, she told him no. I called the booking company and they said the hotel told them that we were a no show. LIARS! We never did get reimbursed. Think twice, maybe even three times, before...

So my friend and I stayed at the Sunnyside Inn for about two weeks. Our rent was paid early every day, I didn’t have any traffic, I was quiet and I was clean. Yesterday early afternoon one of my friends wouldn’t stop knocking at my door and I didn’t open it because I had been sleeping. Eventually I thought he would have left. 30 minutes later someone is banging at the door I thought it was my friend but it was management she was yelling through the door telling us to open it so my friend did and when she did she pulled my friend out by her arm and asked me to step outside and so I did unaware of what she was doing. I came out and her and another lady went inside and shut the door in our faces. So here we are now outside in our pajamas with no shoes on no phones and our purses we left inside also. The manager was so rude to us and wouldn’t even let us get two words with her without saying she was gonna call the police on us in which I was hoping she would do so that I could get some understanding of why she thought it was ok to just put us out with no explanation. We couldn’t call the police because our phones were inside of the hotel room with her and when we knocked on the door all the manager would do is open it and ask what and then I asked for our shoes because it was really hot outside. She then closed the door still nothing. I asked one of the workers what they were doing and they said they werent allowed to talk to me. I was just super frustrated so I waited until the manager was done doing whatever it was she was doing inside my hotel room for a hour and a half. Finally the manager opened the door and started putting our bags outside and still no explanation as to why she thought it was ok to go threw all of our stuff. I asked her where our purses were and she said everything is packed in your suitcases. I figured nothing would be missing because I’ve stayed in many hotels over the past 12 years traveling for work and you should be able to trust hotel personnel. I am human and I have rights at the end of the day no matter what was found in my room it wouldn’t have been found had it not been illegally gone through. I put all of our bags in our car and looked to make sure our purses were really still there and when I did I seen that literally everything I had was gone ran through and shaken up. My stuff was in my friends bags her stuff was in my bags and things were missing. I looked inside my purse to only be so upset words can’t express the feeling I had in my stomach to see that every dime I had which was alittle over $700 was gone and all that was left was a ripped in half $20. My friends wallet was gone through also and she didn’t have a dime left either. I told my friend to pull up at the office so I could ask why my money was gone along with other things and the manager simply said it wasn’t her doings that my friend did it. I literally broke down crying because I just had to move out of my place and I’m a single mother barely making it already. They took every dime I had without a explanation. I feel so violated and I feel disrespected to the fullest. Tomorrow I will be contacting the non emergency police to make a police report because what they did was illegal and totally uncalled for. They violated my privacy and they took full advantage of me. They stole from us they lied to us and they didn’t feel one bit of shame about it. Karma is gonna get them and all I can do is pray for them because god knows...

We are from the Olympia area and are planning on moving back in Oregon in July. We were looking at a house mid-week spontaneously and we needed a place to stay that was pet friendly, so I called the Sunnyside Inn in Clackamas, OR. Upon checking in, the front desk clerk was not friendly and very short. However, I was tired and just wanted to go to sleep. We found that our room was in the furthest building from the main lobby building which is where their few amenities were like ice and vending machines. Not only that, but it was the closest to I-205, a very loud highway. To make matters worse, our rooms was on the third floor and there was no elevator. And it was at the end of the whole aisle of rooms. Not the biggest deal had I not been VISIBLY PREGNANT! Walking into the room, there was no fridge (I appreciate ice cold drinks right when waking up and most hotels/motels offer them), and it was very small. But the most troublesome aspect was the noise from the highway. I thought the window was open, that was how loud it was. But still, it was midnight, and I was tired. I was willing to live with all of this, but I had to work in the morning and I needed WIFI, which I was told over the phone before booking that they had. After getting settled in, I figured I would log on and make sure my VPN worked. I was disappointed to find that their WIFI connection displayed an error each time I attempted to connect. And all I was given was a username and password and no other information like the SSID (name of the wireless device you select from your list of available networks). So we immediately called the front desk clerk. He offered to reset the internet modem (and instructed to restart my computer) and then he also mentioned that if that didn't work, we were free to check out. I waited a few minutes and restarted my computer, all to no avail. We couldn't stay here if there was no WIFI and he did say that we could check out, so we packed up everything in our car and went to check out. Imagine my shock when THEY STILL CHARGED US 50% OF MY BILL FOR 20 MINUTES!! We paid $55.48 for 20 minutes of WIFI troubleshooting. The kicker was that they charged us 50% of the room fee and the $10 pet fee on top of it. It doesn't matter if we left the dogs out in the car or not, they still charge the fee. How unfair is that? I am so disgusted with the lack of service at the Sunnyside Inn. I hope you get your...
