If you are looking at staying at the Ocean tower, just say no. At first glimpse this is a beautiful resort. The problem, it is so spread out and the only way to get around is walking or taking the slowest tram ever made. You literally can walk faster but it is a long walk to the Ocean tower. Also, half the Ocean tower rooms are ancient. Think popcorn ceilings, dated decorations and a step back to the 70's. They have the smallest refrigerator you can buy and NO microwave. We are HGV owners and were very, very disappointed. We had an early flight to head home and the tram doesn't start until 6 AM so you are lugging your luggage on a 30 minute walk. I couldn't believe that the self parking was $47 and the lot is an added long walk. If you are young and want a walking workout multiple times a day then maybe this place is for you. The problem is you will waste 2 hours a day of your vacation going to your room and going to the parking lot. Never again.

We just finished a two week stay at Hilton Grand Vacations and had an amazing time! The location was right in the Waikola Village area, making it near all sorts of shopping, including restaurants and grocery. The service was excellent and very friendly staff. The pools were nice, and we used the onsite gym most days. The costs are high, as they are pretty well everywhere in Hawaii. However, having a full kitchen and access to BBQs really helps bring down the overall cost. If you're willing to drive, you can get anywhere on the island in a few hours. Many great beaches and other activities are within 30 to 45 minutes. The local beach is nice and we visited several times.

Room was bad, outdated to mid 2000’s. Service is wack and not friendly, and location, you have to walk around most of the time. Left after 4 HRS.

Four stars because I have first world problems. Obviously this place is beautiful I just think management is missing the small things that make it great. Things like doors swinging the wrong way which makes it difficult to get luggage in and out. How about the fact that the sign at the pool says “poo” service? Where’s the missing L? Air conditioning is also weak. The new buildings on the Kona side are absolutely a lower quality than the Kohala buildings. Would I stay here again? Yes. But come on. Show me you actually care about...
