If you are looking at staying at the Ocean tower, just say no. At first glimpse this is a beautiful resort. The problem, it is so spread out and the only way to get around is walking or taking the slowest tram ever made. You literally can walk faster but it is a long walk to the Ocean tower. Also, half the Ocean tower rooms are ancient. Think popcorn ceilings, dated decorations and a step back to the 70's. They have the smallest refrigerator you can buy and NO microwave. We are HGV owners and were very, very disappointed. We had an early flight to head home and the tram doesn't start until 6 AM so you are lugging your luggage on a 30 minute walk. Things like doors swinging the wrong way which makes it difficult to get luggage in and out. How about the fact that the sign at the pool says “poo” service? Where’s the missing L? Air conditioning is also weak. The new buildings on the Kona side are absolutely a lower quality than the Kohala buildings. Would I stay here again? Yes. But come on. Show me you actually care about...
