Taco Rosa — Restaurant in Hawaii

Came here twice during my short stay on the island. Other great options of food available in the shared parking lot. There was both a coffee place and breakfast place in the shared parking lot. Bathrooms available but you have to ask for bathroom key.

First time I came in the evening and had a great experience with food and customer service.

The second time I came, I could tell they were annoyed by my early arrival. Online (google) said they were open and I was looking to get a last meal before my flight.

I arrived around 11 am to a chair infront of the door. I waited around before I asked the pizza place next door if the taco place was open. They said someone would be there shortly.

A girl arrived and seemed annoyed that I was patiently waiting. I was finally able to order and the girl ask another staff member I couldn't see if they were serving food...

Very frustrating to feel like I'm bothering a business because I showed up to support it at the time it was listed as open.

It's possible that a few of you haven't experienced a delicious taco. We realized our decision wasn't great when everyone in the parking lot headed to the pizza place. I've actually had better tacos at Taco Bell. The tortilla was quite chewy, the shredded beef seemed greasy, and the addition of carrots didn't work well. I suggest considering switching from black beans to pinto beans, adding a couple of jalapeños and a touch of lard – you can find all these at KTA. Also, you might want to make some tasty refried beans. The Spanish rice appeared to have red food coloring and an overload of taco seasoning. I was grateful that I decided to get 2 cans of Sprite as they were both needed to wash down the meal. Stopped in after passing by many times and reading the sign “fresh tortillas made daily”. I won’t pass up the sign any more. The tacos were delicious. I had the vegetarian ones that had charred peppers and other super tasty veggies, and opted for the more spicy salsa. It has to be the tastiest veggie taco I’ve ever had. My husband had the chicken tacos with beans and rice and he loved it. We both grew up eating Mexican food in California and have been to Mexico a few times and this place felt very authentic which was a surprise to find in Hawaii.
