My stay was interesting.
Pros All of the workers I met were very nice! The gentleman at the front desk were very nice and helpful upon check in, the breakfast lady was very sweet and kind while serving our food, and the housekeeping lady who came to our room door was also very nice. So they are doing a great job with their customer service!! And I commend them on that because to me that is one of the most important parts of any business.
Another great thing was their breakfast (but that is just according to me not my family). The first day was egg and cheese omelette and sausage links. You could also get biscuits and gravy. What I really enjoyed was the additional options of granola bars, nutrigrain bars, danishes, and even bagels or English muffins. We had been on a road trip and no other hotel we had stopped at was offering bread so I was super happy to see the bagels in English muffins as it's a normal staple for me at my house. The second day was scrambled eggs and sausage links again but they also had some pancakes as an option. I did not try the pancakes though.
Cons: When we went to our room we were unfortunately placed in the room on the bottom floor right next to the elevator which means it would always be a little loud from people waiting at the elevator. So I was immediately a little led down but we accepted it.
But then we went into our room and half the lights were a 'warm light' bulb and the other half of the room was 'daylight' light bulbs and so it just kind of gave it a cheap feeling. I understand that these are just light bulbs but it's just an OCD thing for me I guess. I think I just noticed it more because we were in a first floor corner room where not a lot of daylight could come in.
The beds were also very uncomfortable. My husband had back issues and these beds were particularly difficult to sleep in for him.
Another con was simply that the housekeeping would pile up on the first floor in the early morning. I left the room in the morning to go get breakfast and there were housekeeping all up and down the hall with very huge bins like I have never seen at any other hotel and they were on both sides of the hall so I just squeezed through the center and there was just a bunch of girls that all look like there were 17 to 18 years old standing around like they didn't know what to do. I'm not sure why they were all crowded together in the hallway and none of them were wearing masks. That didn't honestly bother me that they weren't wearing masks I just was struck as odd because everywhere you go you see people wearing masks. Even the housekeeping in Montana had housekeeping wearing masks and even in the resort right next to them people were wearing masks. But not the housekeeping here. Just struck me as odd not very much a complaint.
The final complaint would just be that there is only one elevator that goes really slow for the whole hotel and if housekeeping was waiting to use it you just had to wait. Which meant lots and lots and lots of waiting or just taking the stairs which is what my family chose to do most of the time.
For the price that was paid I did expect more. For our final night we chose to cross the border into Washington to sleep and we saved about $80 and stayed at a much much nicer hotel. If you're willing to cross the border into Spokane Valley you will save a lot of money and it's only about a 15 to 20 minute drive from...
Read moreShe advised me that I should talk to the lifeguards. I did. When I asked one lifeguard he said that it was not about safety that it was because toddlers have a tendency to go potty in the wave pool and it needed to be shut down for cleaning. That as long as they have tags they should be fine. I go back up and asked again what I could do to get passed for my toddlers and the manager came and said it's not about the potty it's about the liability. I get that, they should have parents sign a waiver or agreement prior to accessing the wave pool. We didn't know that before we came. There is a sign in plain view stating everything the lifeguard had mentioned and nothing about liability. Huge miscommunication there. We brought our children back to the pool. We followed the rules this time. However, a male lifeguard approached my toddler daughter to tell her not to go down the slide face first all while I was standing there. I told him twice that he needed to talk to me. She will not listen to some stranger. I seriously don't get it. Why? We stayed much longer for our kids. We observed a toddler boy about the same age as my toddler daughter get in to the wave pool. On the deep end too swimming with other family members while his mother sat at the shallow part of the wave pool watching. No one! And I mean no one blew the whistle or confront this woman about her toddler being in the deep part of the wave pool. No one! The lifeguards walked back and forth not saying anything. The lifeguards in watch by the floats were walking back and forth not saying anything. Watch the cameras and tell me otherwise? At that point my husband and I felt that we were being racially profiled. We noticed that when two lifeguards pair up they are so deep in conversation that they don't even pay attention to the pool. Like their just on a casual walk talking amongst each other. Again watch the video. We were very excited to make the trip out there, but left completely disappointed in how we were treated and how we paid unlimited passes only to get kicked out of a pool that was supposedly not safe for toddlers while their toddler slide was deep enough for a toddler to be submerged under water. We definitely will not be back to this place and we definitely will not and do not recommend this place for parents who have adventurous children. We drove 5 hrs just...
Read moreThe hotel itself is pretty old and worn down, but the activities in the complex are what you go for. Indoor Waterpark, go karts, mini golf, laser tag, bowling, arcade, ropes course, bumper boats, etc. There are enough activities to last the entire day if you're willing to spend the money.
The hotel itself was really worn down, old carpet, banged up walls, one elevator, rooms weren't very well cleaned. The air vent was full of dust, food, bugs, and who knows what else. There was a used bandaid on the floor. Long dark hairs on the sheets and pillows. For $250 a night without any activities included in the package (even the water park is not included), it's definitely not worth it. We stayed at the Hampton Inn 15min down the road for about the same price, and it was old too, but very clean and well kept.
The Waterpark was fun for a couple of hours. It has 3 tube slides, one body slide, a tiny wave pool with tiny waves, and a kiddie splash area. With the hotel discount, it was $23/person. If it was included in the hotel price, then I'd say sure, but there's a nicer indoor waterpark in Kellogg 45 minutes away, Silver Rapids.
The go karts, mini golf, zip line, laser tag, bowling, ropes course, arcade, etc. were pretty good. Nothing amazing, but fun enough. The go karts and bumper boats were kind of a letdown. They were pretty slow. The laser tag was fun. It just takes a few rounds to get used to the game play. The ropes course seems newer and was pretty big.
We bought the all-day passes for $60+ (with the hotel discount) that include the Waterpark. I feel like we got our money's worth. We kept busy for about 10-11 hours. My wife bought a 4 hour pass that didn't include the go karts or water park and that was sufficient for her.
Overall, the "resort" is OK. I won't stay in the hotel again, I would go to the Silver Rapids Waterpark instead, but the rest was...
