Hayden Ace Hardware — Local services in Hayden

Needed a key cut for one of my vehicles by code. I had used a software program to get the key code cut sequence. I first called one locksmith and told them what I needed and they literally acted as if they had no idea what I was talking about. Called another locksmith and was quoted $50 just to cut a key using a key code machine. I happened to be shopping at the grocery store next door and stopped in at this Ace location with little to no hope of getting this key cut. Not only did the lady at the front counter know what I was talking about and wanting to do, it ended up only posting me $10! I do a little bit of auto work on the side and occasionally I have to get keys cut for lock cylinders that are missing their respective keys. This place is awesome and by far the cheapest prices I've ever seen for this service. The employees are cheerful and talkative and the store is stocked with some unique Milwaukee power tools that I haven't seen at other places. Gave it a 1 star due to the fact I bought some parts from the back service center. I tried taking them back with receipt Just how I got them in the bag they came in and they would not give a refund even with all the information. They said after the fact they don't give refunds on parts. Should have been told before I bought them. Whoever works back there wouldn't even talk to me. The checker talked to me and was great. I just left everything there so they can resell if they want to. Would have been nice to get the $22 back but someone needs it more than me. So just be careful and read the return policy...

Well it's funny. My hoodlum looks suggested I be watched as a thief at first which I can understand. But it has been my neighborhood store for years and I love it. Always helpful and almost always have what I want to buy. Prices are decent. The employees are stellar people and if I had a business like that I would ask how they did their hiring and where can I find people like theirs. I still get the occasional look when shopping there but that's ok cuz I ain't the one .I spend a pretty penny there at times and happy to give them my money. I need six stars for this...
