Really not very happy with this bakery. The first time I heard about them, I tried to call on a very late notice, which is understandable why they weren’t able to make some cupcakes that were vegan for my daughters birthday. Totally understand that. My husband‘s birthday is January 3, to which I had reached out at least two weeks in advance if not three weeks by email because of the availability issues I was having and trying to surprise him and not have him be home when I’m making the phone call. In addition to having a toddler. Unfortunately over Christmas my daughter got sick and then Christmas day and my husband got very sick. Safe to say I wasn’t able to call the bakery itself to order the custom cake prior to Christmas, which would have just been a vegan chocolate cake. I called one week in advance on 27 December to have the order be ready by January 2. For just a standard vegan chocolate cake. I was told once again that they need at least a week in advance to order which I had reached out (which I did), but apparently around the holidays they need more time supposedly, and then they said that they were unable to accommodate having a custom order via email. I’m not quite sure why that is… And every time I’ve called I’ve been turned away for service. Even when I reached out almost 3 weeks in advance. Very displeased with the service of this bakery. Wanted to really like it because I heard great things about it. Apparently in order to order anything vegan, you have to order weeks and months, perhaps in advance.

Edited review: this year I called two months in advance to see if I could order cupcakes. They place the order. But we have not yet picked up the cupcakes. The owner did reach out as well to confirm so hopefully...

I chose this location based on their reviews. I needed to fulfill a birthday wish and interest in a custom birthday cake for our best friend's daughter, who had shared and shown interest in a heart-shaped cake more than several months prior to her birthday.

I decided to call The Village Bakery on Sunday, August 11th, 2024 and spoke with Dana who became the custom cake baker, as it was 3 days prior to our best friends daughter's birthday for a custom-made 21st birthday cake. I read the reviews and took a chance. I called out of state from Oregon as the bakery is located in northern Idaho to place an order as the bakery was near our friend's place for pick-up.

The custom cake ordered was done by Dana. I appreciate her taking on the wish order and coming through with a wonderful and beautiful cake! Our friend's daughter loved it and they loved the cake. The cake was a heart-shaped, chocolate cake with a German-filling cake. Our friend said it was one of the best-tasting German chocolate cakes she's ever had.

What an amazing place! I stopped into this delightful bakery after picking up my daughter and nieces from summer camp. We had just gotten lunch and they were asking for a treat. On the drive to the bakery my lower tire pressure came on for one of my tires. I mentioned this as I looked awkward staring at my tire forever before heading inside. The lovely ladies at the bakery not only guided my dairy-intolerant daughter to some delicious options, but also had gluten free options for me. And to top it off, the most wonderful and kind gentleman offered to drive across the parking lot to help me get more air in my tires before driving four hours home with five little girls in my van.
