Well where do I begin other than the reviews that are on here must be from friends and coworkers or even family, not true reviews I am NOT related to anybody in this state even so I will give you an honest review of this place. so let's start, keep you in mind that check out is supposed to be 10 a.m. I requested 11 and it was ok, I was in room 18. as expected for the price of 38 dollars with tax not much, the room did have a microwave and a refrigerator but they were unplugged I don't need them anyway but just a note if you do need them make sure you come early enough to do that and bug bomb the place one in the bathroom one in the bedroom make sure you close the door I failed to do this long story short there is 3 cockroaches in the bathroom live in healthy, and a cricket walking across the floor of the bedroom. this place is very outdated but the bed was actually pretty comfortable, no bed bugs that I could visibly see, the shower was ok if someone flushes the toilet and it would get cold and the pressure would go way down and the pressure is not that good to start with. so long story short I guess the best point I can make here is that I've noticed from my journeys is one thing if the key to your room is an old fashioned brass key or any type of keyed entry way like you to use to get into your house chances are the place is a crap hole and unless you're willing to bug bomb the place and come back in a few hours with some other cleaner cuz I don't think this place has been cleaned in a few years, and that goes for any keyed entry way like I just mentioned for any place. but if you're used to it then I guess you do get a bargain but here and like anywhere with a keyed entry way like a brass key or house key I wouldn't expect to pay any more than $35. This place is about a $25 quality without being sprayed for bugs but like I said I paid 35 plus tax which came out to about 38 and change, I was tired and I couldn't make it all the way to Flagstaff so here i lie, other than that not much to say I hope this review is helpful and I made it as honest as I could have a good trip.
PS the hotel is right next to live railroad tracks and yes a train does come through about every half hour to 45 minutes, I'm kind of used to noise so it doesn't bother me but if you're a light sleeper good luck. Also the fact that he gives you the remote to the TV when you check in makes it seem kind of shady of a place in...
Read moreI would like to address some of the complaints left on previous reviews. I think these people from now on should stay in 4-star hotels. This is an old Route 66 motel and if you don't want the Route 66 experience then don't stay at this type of motel. Yes, the rooms are somewhat dated and do not not offer the amenities that your multi-million dollar Motel corporations offer. It would be very hard and expensive to update these but most importantly that would take away from their charm. I spent the night of July 13th 2024 in this motel, I don't understand the complaint about trains every 20 minutes. During my stay there only two trains early in the evening and two trains early in the morning. As far as the uneven floors, they were not that bad and remember it's a very old building. They're also complaints about uncomfortable beds. Although my bed was a little firmer than I prefer it was very comfortable and I slept very well. It would be impossible for them to provide everyone with a type of mattress that they find most comfortable. I found the motel to a great Route 66 experience. The staff was very helpful, friendly and polite. The room was very clean and I loved the Arizona theme. There was complaint of two different colored towels in the bathroom. I think this was done on purpose to add a little variety and color to the room. My only complaint was that there needs to be some kind of an anti-slip strips in the bathtub so that you don't slip while taking a shower. Speaking of the shower, there was plenty of hot water and it was very hot! I was very happy with my stay and planning to stay here again in the future when I pass...
Read moreBrad's Desert Inn is a fun and friendly blast from the past! Our car broke down at 8 pm at the exit right before Holbrook and when I called the Inn, the front desk clerk offered to pick us up and did so, bringing all three of us and our luggage back. How amazing is that? You don't get that level of kindness at a chain hotel. She then helped us feel better with some comforting ice cream bars, cold water, and walking us to our room. We stayed in the Grand Canyon room and added an extra day trying to find a rental car (found it in Show Low 49 miles away.) With the extra afternoon there, we got to visit the Petrified National Forest. Talk about a super blast to the past: the logs are way older than dinosaurs! We also got the chance to find out how old-timey and charming the entire teeny town of Holbrook is by eating at Maesta's for lunch (liver & onions and meatloaf!) and The Butterfield Stagecoach restaurant that boasts pine booths with long horns attached and outlaws described on the walls. We continued on to Colorado to drop our son off at college and on our way back, my husband and I stayed at Brad's again, this time in the Flamingo Suite. It's adorable! Flamingo touches everywhere and the kitchen and bathroom feel like they are out of a 1950's dollhouse. Both rooms had very comfortable beds and everything was sparkling clean. The combination of unique rooms and excellent over-and-above service makes Brad's Desert Inn a diamond in the desert. We...
