I have an 8 month old puppy with me, and she apparently doesn't handle noisy, chaotic truck stops overnight very well as neither of us got any sleep until about 2am the night before I came here. So when I left the Petrified Forest last night at almost 9pm, I decided I didn't want to hunt up a quiet place to sleep for the night and did a quick Google search of nearby motels. I wanted something less than $100, more than 4* rating and allowed dogs. GreenTree was quite literally the 1st place that came up. The pet fee is an extra $10 per animal, with taxes my 1 night stay came out to $99. The room was clean and had no carpet (perfect with pets), the bed was comfy, the shower was clean and the water was hot, the staff were kind and professional, the continental breakfast was average. I honestly have nothing to complain about. The only thing I think they could improve upon is that there's a square patch in the middle of the parking lot with rock, if they could make it grass or fake grass, mark it as a spot for pets to do their business then it'd be a perfect place for dogs to go potty and I believe they'd have significantly fewer people leaving their pet's waste around the parking lot, so in the long run it'd be easier for the staff to keep the parking lot clean. However, I do understand that keeping grass green in AZ is nearly impossible, but even fake grass would be nice as a lot of dogs won't go potty outside without grass or they take a long time to do so. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would not only recommend to other people, but would also come...
Read moreI had a reservation at the GreenTree Inn of Holbrook for the night of May 22nd, which I needed to cancel due to a last-minute change in plans. I spent the entire day in Mesa Verde National Park, where there is zero cell reception, and unfortunately missed the cancellation window by just one hour.
Since I booked through Hotels.com, I immediately contacted them as soon as I regained service. They were incredibly helpful and even reached out directly to the property on my behalf to explain the situation and request a simple, reasonable exception. GreenTree Inn of Holbrook refused. Not only did they decline to show any flexibility, but their attitude was unprofessional, rude, and shockingly dismissive.
Let me be clear: this wasn’t a no-show with no explanation. It was a minor delay due to circumstances completely out of my control, clearly communicated by both me and the booking platform. Their complete lack of empathy and basic customer service is unacceptable.
If this is how they treat guests before they even step through the door, I can only imagine how poorly they manage things in person. I will never stay here, and I strongly urge others to take their business elsewhere. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that understand how to treat people with respect and decency.
