Hello - Last evening (Sunday, August 7, 2022) we arrived at Motel 6, Holbrook AZ #4361 at 8:00pm. We are repeat customers; for several years we have stayed at this motel at least 2 times a year when we travel during the summer. We travel from NV to CO with our pets as we are changing houses for 3-4 months. We usually book 2 rooms, one having to be an ADA accessible room for my 90 year old father that we care for. Whenever we have been asked, we have told the desk clerk that we have 6 pets we are traveling with. This has never been an issue until last evening.
When we tried to check in, the desk clerk, SARAFINA, asked us how many pets. We told her we had 6. She then told us we would not be able to check in. When we inquired why, SARAFINA said that we could not have that many pets. We told her that this was the first we had been told of this, after so many years. I asked her to look up our last check-in and she admitted that the particular clerk probably didn't say anything. So, I asked if this was something that had not been as issue before, 'could we waive it this time and we would know next time?' I then looked up the website to see if we had missed that information. I told her it was not listed on that motel's specific website. I asked if she wanted me to show her. She refused - pointing to an obscure sign behind the desk that quoted the pet policy. When I asked for her supervisor's name, she refused to say anything and said she did not have a manager or a supervisor. I refused to believe that and she said that there is a general manager, but she again refused to give any information. She turned us away. (I must interject here that is raining now, my 90 year old father is sitting in the car waiting to relieve himself). My sister came back to the desk and asked if we could purchase a third room so that we would be in compliance with the pet policy. She agreed. As we are waiting for her to process the reservation, my sister commented to me that "it was one way to sell more rooms." And I responded, "And a way to ruin a business relationship." WE were speaking only to each other and not to SARAFINA. However, she immediately became angry and said, "I am ending this relationship right now". And handed our ID's and credit cards back. "I'm not renting any rooms to you guys". I repeat it is now 8:30pm on Sunday, raining and this is a very small town with limited hotels, especially with ADA accessibility. She turned her back on us and starting to help other people in the lobby. I told her I wanted to speak to someone and she replied that I had to contact corporate. I truly find it hard to believe that she does not have a supervisor, however, it would explain why she felt she could get away with treating loyal patrons like that. Luckily, we were able to get rooms next door with Best Western. We booked the last ADA room available and they were very accommodating regarding our pets. We gladly paid the additional fee for the pets, because we were able to have them with us without prejudice. This hotel also offered a free hot breakfast which offset that cost for us. We will be staying with them from now on and recommending their services to all...
Read moreVery impressed with the courtesy from the staff and the cleanliness of the property and room. Very neat and kept. Parking appropriate for small vehicles to large Semi Diesels. No continental Breakfast but you get 10% off at the Denny's right next door. They Have very nice large back yard propane grills stationed around the pool. I counted 6 propane grills and 2 charcoal grills. located on very Quite side of town, but then again the whole town is very small but seems to have everything you need. Free Wifi which worked very well with my Laptop and phone but not so well with my sons tablet. Laundry Facilities very well kept and safe as there is a Window on the back wall that views into the lobby next to the ice machines in the front office. The lobby also offers free coffee, the town news paper and desk top computers with printer just in case. Vending machines located conveniently. Sidewalks, bushes and grounds neatly and properly kept in order. No tub but very clean shower, sink, and toilet. Heater and Air conditioner in Proper Running order. It was pretty Windy out which caused the temp to drop and the heater warmed us so much we had to turn on the A/C to cool back down. We felt very safe in our room and in the property parking lot when we had to return to our vehicle for toothbrushes. pet friendly as we saw clean, well kept specially designated areas for pets to walk. we felt very welcome by all staff we encountered. When we checked in, the staff behind the counter noticed we were hauling a fifth wheel and relocated our room to be closer to our vehicle with out even being asked. Bed, sheets and pillows seemed clean and comfortable as far as a place to sleep while passing through town. No carpet and room is small but the TV is mounted on the wall leaving more counter space for food, electronics, and refreshments. nice size mini fridge and microwave. Cable w/HBO. Not a bad place to rest weary traveling bones for the price. I would recommend this place to other families. If im ever in Holbrook, AZ again, Id most...
Read moreAll the reviews here are accurate. . I love the cleanliness here & its obvious that the people who run it care about details..its a good price for the small room- now a couple things worth mentioning that no one else has..
The dryer on the left doesn't dry well..i did it twice & clothes still weren't completely dry. I appreciate they had a guest laundry facility, though it's kept busy by other guests. Its one reason we chose this motel. The dryer on the right looks like it does better.
I don't know about all the rooms, but mine didn't have a tub..Its a stand up shower & no water pressure. It reminds me of a little room you would have at the beach for shelter and that's perfect for being outside the pool which looks really nice here..
There are not enough outlets in the room..none by the beds..thankfully I travel with an extension cord as my driver needs a cpap at night. The room had heat, but if yours doesn't you can ask front desk for heaters & blankets.. no AC units, but it does cool off at night. There is some kind of thermostat in the room & the room didn't get overly hot or cold, but there's no air circulation. . The windows open though which is a nice touch.
The room was clean~I love that..house keeping is doing an excellent job. I stay in a lot of motels /hotels & housekeeping is GOOD here. It Is well lit & though busy, its quiet...
