An Unforgettable Experience â Ask for Laura!
I had the pleasure of dining at Sokai Sushi Bar in Miami, and let me tell youâit was an absolute gem. The food was fantastic, but what truly made the experience exceptional was the outstanding service provided by Laura. From the moment we sat down, she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, comfortable, and completely taken care of.
Laura was warm, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. She didnât just take our orderâshe guided us through the best options with genuine enthusiasm. You could tell she really cared about our experience. Every time she stopped by our table, she had a smile on her face and a kind energy that made us feel like VIP guests.
Now, the foodâŚ
We started with the Ebi Tiraditoâshrimp in a mix of nikkei sauce, sweet chili, and aji amarillo aioli, topped with crispy sweet potato and scallions. It was a perfect fusion of flavor and textureâfresh, sweet, tangy, and spicy in all the right ways.
Then came the Rockstar Roll and the Sokai Roll, which looked as amazing as they tasted. The Rockstar Roll had this crunchy, savory topping and a drizzle of rich sauces that elevated every bite. The Sokai Roll was colorful, beautifully plated, and packed with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
We also tried the Pollo Saltadoâa Peruvian classic done right. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and it came with rice and fries that soaked up all those delicious juices. Super satisfying!
And the star of the show for me? The Wagyu Carpaccio. It was elegant and luxuriousâthinly sliced wagyu beef with truffle salt, parmesan, and crispy potato on top. Every bite melted in the mouth.
Throughout the entire meal, Laura was there at just the right momentsârefilling drinks, checking in without interrupting, and making sure we were enjoying everything. She even remembered details about our order and followed up to make sure we loved each dish. Her attention to detail and positive vibe honestly made the whole night better.
If youâre visiting Sokai, do yourself a favor and ask for Laura. Her service will take your dining experience to the next level. Iâll absolutely be backâand next time, Iâm...
Read moreMy SO and I visited Sokai for dinner, and while we were initially quite impressed with the restaurant, we unfortunately left feeling less than content. The food was quite fast to come out, and as we ordered a lot we were pleasantly surprised by this. We started with the gyoza and dragon roll sushi, and despite finding a hair on the sushi we loved these dishes. However, the issues started when the rest of our meal arrived. We decided to splurge and order the Wagyu Steak to shareâa menu item that costs $62 alone. But it unfortunately was comprised mostly of fat (and not in the way wagyu is meant to be), and was quite cold when we received it. We brought this up to our waiter who sent it back to be heated upâbut as it was still very cold in the middle after I have to assume it was frozen before being prepared for us. Despite the disappointment from the wagyu we were still enjoying the experience overall up until the end. We ordered Thai Donuts to-go, but upon receiving our bill we noticed that we were charged for two donut toppings. According to the menu one should be included, and the other we weren't offered and didn't order. Asking the waiter about the charge got us a very curt and irritated response about how the toppings cost extra, and that if we didn't want to be charged she would take the toppings out and leave us with just the donuts. When we showed her the menu and pointed out we didn't ask for both toppings, she eventually went to adjust the bill after speaking to another staff member. We then paid and left, receiving a dirty look on our way out. It didn't completely ruin how we viewed the experience, but it did quickly sour our impressions of the previously quite good...
Read moreIâm really hoping they stay open but Re-eval their pricing. Their food is delicious and, simultaneously, overpriced. 4/5 only bc the portions, ambiance, and overall value vs pricing isnât quite there yet. Its suffering from the same exact issue the last sushi restaurant there (Crudos) suffered from. Itâs overpriced for the areaâyouâd expect current pricing to accompany a seaside, or with a rooftop view, or more art/atmosphere. They havenât had their grand opening yet so there was no beer/wine/alcohol of any kind. Now note this with the pricing belowâŚ
Salmon Tacos - $20 for 3 tacos (1/2 an order is shown) theyâre about the size of dumplings⌠if they were standard size that truffle oil WOULD have made it a good value! Matsu roll - $25 for 10 pieces. Volume was okayâish, food amazing, shouldâve been closer to $20-22 imo (the rolls just arenât big enough to ask $25) Pollo Saltado - $18 nice flavor, also came with rice (not pictured), but portion size of the chicken (tiny cuts, no decent sized chunks) and veggies was small compared to nearby offerings.
Hopefully they revisit pricing a month after the grand opening when they see what locals are willing to pay for sushi đ¤ˇđźââď¸. Best music in the...
