I stayed at Hilton Waikiki Beach for 6 nights. First of all, off the bat I was lucky to check in with Kit. Honorable mention to Kit, she was amazing. I let her know that it was my first solo trip, and she made me feel very comfortable! She mentioned the Waikiki trolley and gave me a map, which I would definitely recommend you take advantage of. My room had a beautiful view of the ocean, of course I had to pay more for this, but from what I could see, the mountain view would of been just as great. I just wanted to splurge! I did make great use of my balcony, watching the sunrise, and sitting out almost every night after my excursions relaxing. Beware that you may have birds on your balcony at times so be sure to not leave your drying towels or swimsuits out for too long, and watch your step. Someone was smoking on their balcony and I believe their ash blew onto my towel and burned a hole through my towel. I did not request housekeeping during my stay, but my room was very clean and one thing i always check for is hair. Hair creeps me out to no end, and luckily i did not find any! The shower is very short so if you're 6''+, be prepared. Keep in mind if you plan on packing a lunch that the mini fridge is extremely small and does not freeze anything. Of course they have ice machines, but plan accordingly because heads up the ABC store does not sell Ziploc bags lol.. I was planning to freeze water bottles so that I could keep food cold and drink them when they melt, but obviously I was unable. It is a little further to the east end of the strip, but only a 10min walk to Dukes. Some great breakfast and poke spots along Kuhio as well.
PARKING: I was concerned about the valet situation and being late for my excursions. There is no way to request the car so make sure to get down there 5-10 minutes early. Those guys work very hard! It is pretty expensive to park at the hotel, but very common for Waikiki to have valet only and be $40+. If i could do anything differently, I would have only rented my car for the days I planned to be out of Waikiki since the trolley picks up directly outside the hotel. You can also find many tours that offer to pick you up directly as well so also keep that in mind because I could of saved myself some $$.
I did eat at the restaurant twice during peak hours for breakfast and dinner. Service was admittedly slow, but I was there during busy times. I don't typically go out to eat if I'm in a rush anyways. The food was delicious! Definitely recommend the stuffed French toast for breakfast.
I had post cards to send, and they sell stamps at the gift shop & mail them out for you which was awesome!
HILTON: Originally when I made the reservation, I called the Hilton number "for the hotel" and was redirected to their customer service in India. I had a very helpful person on the phone, who helped me make my reservation minus the communication issues. I specifically called because I was afraid to pay for an ocean view and be stuck on anything below the 15th floor and my "ocean view" would be the building in front of me. The lady on the phone assured me that she would 'put in the notes' for me to have a room on the 33rd floor. The day before check in, I got a notification from my app to select my room. Clearly nobody had any notes for my room to already to be selected. Thankfully I did get to pick between 26, 22, and the 8th floor from the app.. I obviously chose the 26th floor.. I really wish Hilton would do away with outsourcing customer service reps from India. When I call the number listed for the hotel, I am looking to speak to an actual person from the hotel. Seemed like I was never able to do that. The key cards died and I could only use my phone to open my room. And then could only use my key cards to open the elevator. Sort of annoying.
Overall, I did have a lovely stay and I would stay at Hilton Waikiki Beach again, but I would choose other options for the valet and...
Read moreJust getting back from this hotel. Stayed from Sept 20th, 2023 thru Sept 27th. This is our third time staying at this location prior to covid. First time back in 4 years since covid and seems like they nickel and dime you now.
This room was sort of smaller than the last few we had. The bathroom seems to be made backwards in the room we were in because it was hard to come out the shower becase the toilet was so close to the shower door. Seems like the shower door should be on opposite side so you can walk out the shower easily. We were on the 5th floor so you can hear the buses run, trash truck and traffic. I asked twice if i can change rooms and was told they was all booked and to just keep coming check, but i just gave up and stayed in the room. I even requested a higher floor when i called before i arrived because it was our Anniversary but they did not accommodate. It dont seem like they never accommodate to your wants and needs and just do whatever THEY choose to do.
The website says they have a microwave but they don't mention that it's $50.00 to rent if you want it. Most hotels have microwaves in the room and if I'm paying a resort fee, then a microwave should come with it. With all the money youre taking from people, yall really should be supplying a microwave in every room for FREE!!!!! Needless to say, I did NOT rent a microwave when I just gave you $289.00 resort fee.
Let's talk about resort fee: When we were there a few years ago, we did not have to put money on hold for incendentials, but this time they had to put a $500.00 hold on my credit card. The resort fee was $245.00, with taxes, was $289.00. I was like i thought it was just $245.00, and she said they had to tax it. This is REDICULOUS. I think they just charge resort fees just because they can and since other hotels are charging, but it's definitely not a resort.
They have a restaurant called MAC 24/7 but they need to change the name because that's false advertising. They are NOT open 24/7, so don't be deceived when you look this hotel up.
They have a nice pool area and 2 CABANAS that's FREE right now but was told they are going to add a tv on there, and then you'll have to PAY. ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS, isn't that what the "resort fee" is for? Now you want people to PAY to use the cabana?
They do give you a voucher for a daily beach equipment but if you get the beach chair, they only give you 1, even if you have 2 people in the room. And when you take the chair to the beach, it sits super low, so youre almost sitting in the sand, so we rented chairs with umbrellas when we got on the beach and did not use the chair that they supplied us.
But I can say the service is fast when need extra towels or anything. They also have a nice lounge area.
I would highly recommend you look around before you make this hotel your first option.
We wrote several hotel names down while in the area so before going back, we will definitely look into another hotel.

Read moreI booked a 1 bedroom 900 square ft suite at the Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel as I was celebrating my birthday with family. I was so happy to have found a good deal through a 3rd party website . So i booked my plane tickets packed up my family and travelled 7 hours for my stay. When we arrived the hotel manager came out and informed me that no room in the hotel fit the description that Vio third party website had me purchase. The manager then attempted to scold me for booking through a 3rd party and informed me that it was 4th of July weekend and all suites were booked up . There was nothing he could do. The manager Haraun looked right past me as if I didn’t exist. He didn’t want to deal with this issue. He continued to blame me and third party site for the error . He refused to allow me into any suite in the hotel saying this hotel was fully booked. After i went on hiltons website I informed him It was not fully booked. He was prejudice because I was a woman of color young with children. He didn’t want yo put me in this grand presidential suite I purchase for such a low price. I reached out to VIO through a CHAT because they don’t have a telephone number at all. I explained the situation and requested to be relocated. No offer. I couldn’t find anything in the area short notice to accommodate my family and I that night that was affordable . My trip was ruined . When we returned to hotel lobby again to try to get into any room that night , I spoke with manager again i begged him to help me pleasing crying screaming even. He finally told me he had a room available but it was not the room i purchased. The room was so dirty and dusty and small and it was just not the experience I was expecting at all. The winds were blowing in through the cracks in the windows all night. It was a nightmare . That morning early , I informed Vio via CHAT that I wanted to be relocated. They told me no, the problem had been resolved i accepted the smaller room. When i told Vio i was leaving the hotel due to all the issues and uncomfortable with the treatment by staff i request a full refund i had to get another room large enough for my family last minute and that was not cheap on 4th of July weekend! Vio refused and only offered me a partial payment return with 10 percent off …. An Absolutely insane and insensitive response to what i went through . Vio blamed Hilton . Hilton blamed Vio for false advertisement and informed me to seek legal action against this site which I am going to do. Be careful with this website. My advice stay local and book standard . 4 days later , because Vio has no customer service contact number and because no one has contacted me personally to discuss issue or to compensate what i went through due to the errors on the site, I am still emailing back and forth with Vio rep , but I’m over this now. My entire trip consumed by...
