Kuhio Village Tower 2 — Hotel in Honolulu

I was coming to hawaii to visit my family, I reserved this hotel for a high price thinking it was gonna be a good one. But when I entered my room it smelled like dust and chemicals. I waited an hour for it to be considered “clean”. The bed wasn’t made and the curtains for outside and shower were moldy. The shower was breaking itself. Mold was growing and paint job was poor. Big oof. Pro tip, don’t pay for the 24hr parking unless you’re CERTAIN you aren’t moving your car for a while. There are literally 8 spots and it’s a ROUGH place to park. Parking in the area is a NIGHTMARE. Secondly the units are shabby at best. Water was off for 12 hours over two days. Place overall is poorly maintained. And that’s putting it nicely. Not sure why this place is rated so low. The lobby is clean with great sitting areas. There's security guards and cameras that make the space really safe- everyone's recorded as soon as they come in and half the doors close at dark to keep people funneled past the guards. You can't use the elevator without a room key.

It hasn't been recently updated and it is an older building, but it's clean, there's no bugs, there's hot water and air conditioning, and it's affordable and safe. Thats all...
