Posting this review on here too because this is the motel we actually stayed at, when we were supposed to be able to stay at Country Inn. But most of the issues we had were with Quality Inn
They overbooked and didn't let us stay there. They had us stay at their sister hotel, Quality Inn. It was terrible. The beds were not queens, which is what we paid for. It was a low quality motel rather than the hotel we paid for. When I tried to talk to them in the morning about the issue the staff member at Country Inn said that the staff at Quality Inn would have to deal with any issues I had because I stayed there. However, when I tried talking to the staff at Quality Inn they said that they couldn't do anything for me and that it was Country Inn's job to take care of any concerns since that is who charged me. The staff at Country Inn was rude and hung up on me to 'handle' the situation. So, I called back. They very rudely told me they were working on it and asked 'What else do you want?' Speaking of charging, there was a $25 fee that no one informed me of, being held along with payment TWICE on my account. On top of that, Quality Inn is holding a fee of $55 on my account (they did inform me of that one). So now, there is a total extra charge of $250 that I wasn't aware would be held out of my account. So be prepared for that if you plan on staying. They argued at Quality Inn that the beds were bigger than queen sized beds. However, two people could barely fit in each bed. We have stayed in several hotels and never once had an issue with the queen sized beds. I do not believe they were queens at all. Two of our friends own a queen sized bed and also said that the beds we got were fulls. When I was asking the staff at the front desk about this, she was telling me she couldn't help me. I told her I had just spoken to the staff at Country Inn and she said that she also spoke to them and they have to handle any issues with payment. I asked her if she was 'Sunny', who the staff at Country Inn spoke to, and she lied and said yes. I called Country Inn on speaker even though she tried to persuade me not to. Once on the phone with them, I said her name was Sunny, and Country Inn said Sunny was a man. So I asked her again if she was Sunny, and she said she was not. Sunny is the manager and the staff member refused to call the manager saying he was on vacation and she "couldn't" call him (even though the staff at Country Inn spoke to him just before that). The staff at Country Inn then said they would bring me my bill and that Quality Inn would have to deal with the room price since I didn't get two queen beds like I had paid for. Both Inn's told me I was not charged twice (I showed them in my bank account I clearly was). Then, once Country Inn staff showed up, they helped Quality Inn argue with me about the size of the beds. In the end, neither staff member was helpful and I paid the same amount for a hotel with two queen beds, for low quality motel with two...

Read moreWe traveled 3 days from Northern Virginia to see the eclipse in a friendly place. My set of 2 rooms at Quality Inn was for 3 days. We paid extra for two small dogs. Each room price was outrageous but it was the eclipse event that promoted the greed at this and other motels in the area. We each were given a small paper bag at checkin with a pair of paper eclipse glasses and two moon pies. This was a nice gesture.
The rooms were minimum: a set of beds or king size bed and bathroom with vinyl flooring throughout. The rooms smelled clean with clean sheets and a top blanket.
We went out for every meal after viewing the "breakfast". It was held in a large room connected to the reception desk. But it was so limited in choices and amount, quite sparse, that I could not feel like there was much effort to make people welcome or enjoy their day.
No one at the reception desk was helpful with our questions. However, a waitress at one of the restaurants gave us many different places in town and the area to go see with good directions.
There was no place to safely walk my dog. The back parking lot was dark, the front was a grass slope with the sidewalk right next to the very busy road. No side area with grass that could be used as there was another motel adjoining that part of the parking lot. I had to go down the front driveway and walk on the narrow sidewalk until I could move over to the parking lot next door. Scary for an older woman walking alone with her dog.
I would not recommend this motel based on their advertisement of pet-friendly (no place to walk safely) and free breakfast (very very limited...
