The mall structure itself is old and needs a major facelift. It doesn't have near as many store options as it once did. In fact they have nearly as many vacant store venues as they do opened stores. The main stores that have seemed to stick around include but not limited to: Victoria Secret, JcPenny's (which does have a new Sephora in it), Dillards, Foot Locker, Sears (which appears to be ghost town & has very little stock in merchandise as if going out of business), Journeys, American Eagle, Hot Topic, and Claire's.
It is the only indoor mall that isn't a "strip mall" or plaza in Hot Springs. It also holds many memories and sentimental value to the locals as they always have the Easter bunny and Santa Claus visit during the holiday seasons for single photo shoot. Kids are allowed to JUST meet these holiday icons but if you're wanting a keepsake photo, they will make it very clear that you are NOT allowed to take any pictures with your phone due to the restrictions the mall has in place for the photography service provider to solely have those rights in capturing that special moment your child has with these characters.
The mall WAS the perfect place for the elders to walk indoors and to get out of the outdoor heat but as far as I know, they have even managed to ban this healthy lifestyle choice/necessity for those who have no intentions on purchasing anything. They do however have fundraisers there and dance performances on special occasions. Nevertheless, they'll always have the intention to make some type of profit off of these events as well. Wouldn't be as big of an issue if we were to see some improvements being made in the structure of the mall but nothing seems to have any work done on it since perhaps the 80's? Progression needed in order to...
Read morei personally love the mall here in hot springs, of course it's obviously not better than the ones in little rock or anything but it's got that trashy 2000's aesthetic. the carpet is disgusting tho 😭😭.. it's an amazing place to just hang out in! my favorite shops are Candy Craze, Spencer's (now next to Crumbl Cookies which is so confusing???), FYE, and American Eagle, and around halloween they have Halloween Town. Halloween Town is legit so cool, you can find your perfect scene kid or emo kid items there. Spencer's has had quite a downgrade from the 2000's and alternative shop they used to have. The employees are great, and even helped me when i was a beginner scene kid (still am but i'm more educated!) and we're very kind, mostly the manager. Spencer's is also very good for items, but it's likely Invader Zim, MCR, DeathNote, and anime's. Their jewelry is really cool! FYE is the perfect place for your anime, hello kitty, or slasher merch! i remember getting a mha shirt there one time and the employee was very nice too! they also have a bunch of records and vinyls (i forgot abt cds so idk if they have them or not.) and decorations. American Eagle is more basic and trendy but i'm talking about because my sister buys stuff from there. their quality is very nice but not my style :). Candy Craze is my all time favorite because of the candy lol 😭😭. (FYE and spencer's have candy as well but not as much!) my favorite jelly bean from there is the marshmallow or toasted popcorn :3. the employees there are also very nice!!! so while the mall has downgraded a lot, there are still things to admire and...
Read moreI work at the mall and I can tell you that the mall is not closing! Stores move out because there is no business from consumers in the mall, mainly due to online shopping but there's one huge reason that shoppers don't come in and that's because of unruly kids aged anywhere from 7 years old to about 17 years old that are just dropped off at the mall without parents/chaperones and they have no idea how to behave in a public place of business!! They run through the mall, jump on the furniture, turn over plants, steal from stores, yell out curse words for everyone to hear, they go into stores and wreak havoc, and who knows what else!! That behavior runs paying customers out!! Both local and tourists! The new owners inherited this mess but they are working very hard to turn it around! They have started with cosmetic improvements and there are new stores coming! And for the person complaining about the signs around the fountain...the signs do not say to stay away from it...they say do not sit or stand on the fountain wall!! It's a safety thing! Especially for those that drop their unruly kids off and the ones that are actually in there with their unruly kids but not watching them or making them mind!!! One store 'Starz' Carey's Simply Southern Shirts and another store 'Rockin Hats & More' has shirts for all 32 NFL Teams, Razorbacks shirts, some NBA and MLB teams. As well as, NFL, Collegiate, NBA & MLB hats...and tons of other sports items and they carry the Country Life brand of shirts and hoodies. THE MALL WILL TURN AROUND...IT's...
