The WORST self checkout associate/customer cashier service manager & customer service associate experience!!! Self checkout at night 10/24 at 9-10pm & 10/25 around 12-1pm at the customer service desk. Where do I even startā¦I went in with my mom last night & bought a couple of items, I head to the self checkout area bc there appeared to be nothing else open. Didnāt see any associate monitoring the area just security standing there watching. I had a few issues with 2-3 items not giving me the ādigital coupon discountā on top of my alt ph # Kroger card I input already. It starts to get crowded now & not only do I need help but others around me also, I raised my hand bc I couldnāt see any associate, she was on the other side apparently & when my mom asked for help near the security guy the Hispanic girl, rudely says in a tone āIām helping a customer!!!ā My mom looked at her like weāre ALL customers whatās with the attitude. The security was like theyāre all staring at me for help. Thatās why. Iām patiently waiting for her to assist me Iām not rude I just ask her why the prices werenāt coming off on discount & she had a rude demeanor like irritated when I told her I didnāt want them, to take them off please. She quickly inputed her codes on the screen & grabs the items aggressively to give to an associate to put back. She then says you have to download the app to get the discountā & walks away. How rude!! I found out you in fact donāt have to dl the Kroger app you can just log in on the site & clip them that way also. She never mentioned that. I go home to see I had bought 2 cereals not for the 1.49 ad discount, so I came in today hoping for a better experience at customer service, I was WRONG!!! I wait behind 1 woman patiently, & explain to the young heavy set African American female with a septum nose piecing in a calm manner that I would like to return/rebuy the cereals for a price Adjustment since I didnāt know/use the digital coupon clipping last night in addition to the Kroger card. She looks mad like irritated already, I gave her my receipt, she scans it and starts the return then stops abruptly to open a door and talk to another associate apparently this was a supervisor small petite African American female, then she comes back to me, and says rudely is this all ? Or you want to return? I ask her to hold on bc I was inputting my alt ID and clipped the coupons on my ph, she acted impatient and says it wasnāt coming off. I told her it should and it did finally for 1.49/each. I tell her I want to add on the Kroger apple cider and pay the difference she said I now owe 1.99, I ask her and say how? Because my refund was $2. And itās on digital sale for 1.99. She looks irritated and tying to rush me off, she tells her supervisor who was rude too!!!! She says itās 3.99 can you give me your phone to show me?? And as Iām scrolling to show her, she acts all impatient & tells the customer service associate just give it to her, how much was it ? Go aheadā. She acted like she had to give her attention to a more āimportantā customer & had an attitude. The customer service female quickly does it & puts a penny down as my refund on the counter!!! & my refund receipt, like Iām done with you, leave. Sheās ignorant bc I didnāt even pay with cash!!! This was HORRIBLE service all around not only last night but this afternoon!!! Iāve worked a cashier role at heb many moons ago & Other retail customer service at high end stores/chains & I have NEVER EVER IN A MILLION YEARS, treated customers this poorly & rudely!!! I donāt care if youāre not happy with your job or having a bad day for whatever reason you treat customers with respect and dignity. Not like weāre the problem because yāall donāt know your weekly sales or ads & blame the customer for wanting what Kroger is advertising. Iāve moved downtown not long ago and this is very disappointing. If you donāt like your job you shouldnāt be there. I will not be coming back for this treatment itās unacceptable. Today was the worst. No management is around while the "security guard" is interfering with your ONLY cashier! Get it together Kroger! ON 9/5/22 @ 8:30pm I went to register 15 at the kroger on 1440 Studemont St, Houston, TX 77007. The cashier and security guard we carrying on a long drawn out conversation with 2 customers in front of me. I didn't say anything while the customer was there because it was not their fault that the cahier and security guard were talking. here's my issue, the cashier would scan, stop and talk. this register was the ONLY one open minus the self check outs. But I had too much stuff to go through the self checkout. yes the customers also had lots if items but the issue is the conversations were slowing down the cashier. I heard the cashier ask the customers ( a husband and wife) if they had kids. they said no and she ( the cashier said- I have 3 kids , you shouldn't have kids. the conversation was so long and inappropriate. they even started talking about strippers. and the male customer says " oh we know what she ( the cashier) will be doing later" and the security guard said " you have to do what you have to do" This conversation slowed down the transaction so much that I looked back and there were 3 other customers waiting in line. The cashier never looked our way, never tried to hurry up. she purposely went slow . Here is the real issue: when I FINALLY was able to get checked out, the cashier seemed annoyed that I actually waiting to get checked out . I asked the security guard if he was the security guard there and he started to argue with me saying he was doing his job. I told him that I hope nothing bad is happening in the other side of the store while he's standing here at the register slowing down the cashier while having these long drawn out conversations. he actually told me I wasn't allowed to come back to the store. She made my kids feel uncomfortable my son 7 said Iām scared I wanna leave this store the security was watching us like we were criminals so uncomfortable and yes I pay for the toys because thatās something my son wanted but thank you for making our experience a HELL this lady needs proper training because families go here we spend hundreds of dollars we donāt even mind to pack our own groceries but this beyond rudeness she thinks because she is a āmanagerā has the power of talking to someone the way she did in front of my kids acting like a crazy women! if she hates that job find something else or know your place!
