Rarely do I ever give reviews, but this is extremely deserving of a horrible review. Would give a negative (-10) if possible. Keep reading if you want a cautionary tail.
Wyndham has purchased many of the low-end hotels and is looking to market them as a Wyndham property. Do not fall for this ploy.
If you are like me, you'll start to read some of the positive reviews and think this can't be that bad. Think again, it is that bad.
The hotel is within mid-range driving distance to Lambeau Field, that is the only positive. Otherwise, it goes down hill quickly.
Our family was traveling around the Midwest and came across this property online and booked. This was the only mistake out of nine hotels we stayed in the middle of July 2025.
As soon as we entered the property, we were greeted with a long line at check-in because they purposely under-staff the front desk, regardless of the travel season. One person was taking phone calls, checking-in guests and handling guest issues.
While waiting, my family noticed the popcorn vending machine to the right of the line. Cool idea, except the 1990's microwave that was next to it indicated it has not been cleaned since it was purchased. We should have left then, but kept the terror rolling for some reason.
I did a complete online check-in process to speed up this end of the paperwork. However, the front-desk clerk was on his first day of the job and didn't notice it in the computer. Not his fault, but the system did not indicate the paperwork was already done.
After another 10 minutes later, we go everything settled and signed. In the last minute, the clerk said, "Oh, your pre-checked" and here is the paperwork. 10 minutes lost, but we still are ready to check out the room regardless of the new guy's gaffe.
One floor up, we finally entered the room and disappointment doesn't begin to describe the feeling that was setting into our minds.
PICTURES ONLINE ARE NOT ACCURATE OF THE ROOM AS THIS IS AN UNCLEAN HOTEL.
A mix of musty and chemical smells hung in the air to mask the unclean state of this hotel.
The bed sheets did not fit the bed and were not clean. This is the kind of hotel where you can get bed bugs.
We immediately packed up and left for a real hotel (Hilton) near Lambeau Field which ironically was the exact same price as this train-wreck of a property.
Wish this was the end of the story, but it continues.
When Wyndham emailed for a review, they were given an accurate picture of the state of affairs.
Thinking Corporate would want to know what is going on at their hotels, they gave a caned response of "These are independent hotels and you'll need to reach out to them, here is the phone number".
Guess they thought contact would not be made as the phone number was contacted. It was the wrong hotel as they could not find my reservation in their system. When asked if they were on Velp Ave, they said, "Oh, you want Green Bay West".
BINGO. Wyndham wants to dodge and distract from the known problems as they know they have an inferior product.
More to the story:
Several emails with Corporate and they refuse to give a phone call and only communicate via email.
Another tactic that is there to filter out customers that don't want to fool with them.
While I will not back down and continue the good fight, this review is a cautionary tail for those that don't want to get caught in this web of lies.
The moral of the story is stay away from this hotel as there are superior properties for the same cost without the hassle.
Let me pave the way for those travelers that want to avoid the pitfalls of Green Bay and enjoy their time in this great area.
Sincerely,
A Very...
Read moreGiving 2 stars only because the assistant manager (Francine) was able to resolve the issues that multiple other employees were not able to. The troubles started when I arrived. When I arrived I asked that my total was still the original quoted price (stayed 3 nights). Lady at the front desk confirmed, yes. About an hour later i get an email and it shows a different price (roughly $100 more). When I went to get this resolved, the person stated they can change prices if they like based on event/demand. This is not true. When you reserve a room your quoted price is a legal binding contract . That was the 2nd time i had been lied to in under 2 hours. by the end of the first evening the overcharge had been resolved. Fast forward to Sunday. I get another charge on a different card than what I used to pay for the room. They blamed me for making a reservation at their Green Bay east location, with no idea where the charge came from or how it got there. The entire time the front desk was rude and defensive insisting i made the mistake and not that they could have been at fault or the impression that wanted to resolve this issue. There was a mistake the first time i tried to reserve the room back in May, so when i called back days after not getting a confirmation email to see what the issue was, they stated I had no reservation and needed to make another one, which would not need a Credit Card on file to reserve (which is rare to be told). The staff didnt seem to take the time or effort to check to see if they had made a basic spelling mistake when making the first reservation. The spelling of my last name wasn't even close to being correct. In summary, something that multiple employees couldn't resolve was rectified in minutes over the phone with the manager. Overall attitude of the employees was rude, defensive, and disregard to how customer relations should be addressed. I would be very wary of ever booking here. As for the room, it was clean...
Read moreThe original room that I was in was infested with bed bugs, I noticed this around 2am in the morning and was switched to a new room thinking that would be better, the 2nd room was dirty(stuff on the sheets & floor was dirty) finally I was switched to a different room and that room was checked before I went it and it was clean, but I should remind you this is all happening at 2am-3am, the only thing that made up for the disgusting rooms were the customer service that I had received that night, as I could not sleep by just the simple fact that I was sitting in a bed and right underneath it, it was infested with bed bugs. To make things worse I was suppose to get a phone call from the manager of the American inn to hopefully at least get an apology but I did not receive that phone call, so I called and they said they couldn’t do anything about it and they would have him call me. This was almost a month ago and still no call. What a joke. The work quality is really going down the drain. Would have never expected this from a hotel that’s rated “4 stars”. In conclusion always check your bed before you start putting stuff...
