I am a Diamond Elite member with Choice Hotels, and for the most part, I have been very satisfied with the service and accommodations that I have received since becoming a member. However, my last stay at this hotel ranks as the worst stay that I have experienced. And that was not the case until I had the displeasure of meeting the volatile, angry, and confrontational front desk clerk, pictured below. I must also add that after perusing through some of the reviews of this hotel by other consumers, I find it quite odd that the majority of the 4 and 5-star reviews are from Anonymous individuals. Now considering how I was treated for merely attempting to extend my stay, the hotel's overall ratings are sketchy at best and most likely inflated internally. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $5-$10 and stay elsewhere. I asked for a late check out and accidentally over-slept. When the room attendant knocked on my door and advised me of the time, I immediately grabbed the phone and called down to the front desk to extend my stay for one more night. (Like I have done countless times at other Choice Hotels). The angry man at the desk started shouting at me over the phone, telling me that I must go immediately to the front desk to provide the payment and have the room key re-swiped if I wished to stay. I advised the cantankerous man that I would be down in about 45 minutes to settle everything. However, he was insistent that I report immediately to the front desk. So I arrived at the desk at 1 p.m. promptly, which was exactly 1 hour after the late-checkout time of 12 noon and exactly 30 minutes after being harassed over the phone by the ill-tempered man at the front desk. I went to the desk with my credit card in hand, but to my dismay, the irrational employee was still verbally disrespectful and not willing to take my credit card. He went as far as threatening to call the police if I didn't leave the premises immediately. He continued raising his voice repeatedly at me and told me that he would be assessing a $50 late check-out fee as well. I returned to my room to gather my belongings, and as I was leaving the premises, the unpleasant man started making skin color references toward me. Now, I am truly in disbelief that a person who is this bitter and misguided could have made it through an interview process and allowed to be the face of your business. His racial reference should be very visible for ownership of this hotel to see in the recording. Needless to say, I wouldn't stay at that hotel again even if they paid me. I highly suggest that everyone save their time and money and don't stay here unless they want to risk having to deal...
Read moreDeleesia was the clerk and she charge me an extra $40 for my 3rd and 4th party to stay in a DOUBLE BED ROOM that has the Occupancy of 4 guest. She told me that Single King is for one person while Double beds are for only 2 people. Which is crazy because I know you don't charge couples an extra $20 to sleep in the same bed. The next morning, I even asked 3 couples (2 OF THE SHARED THE SAME ROOM) if they had to pay $20 extra per person and they all said no. Also, during breakfast, my friend was watching a video on her phone and DELEESIA came and told us to turn it off because it was too loud and we was bothering the guest. We asked the guest and they said it didn't bother them and she was crazy for saying it when SHE WAS ON HER PHONE TALKING LOUD TO HER SON AT THE FRONT DESK DURING CHECKOUT. And I know the guest wasn't lying because she was on the phone and was putting me on hold to talk to her son while I was checking in. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!! Meanwhile, while I was downstairs talking to the couples about the pay, it was a guy in the cafe ON HIS PHONE PLAYING LOUD MUSIC AND SHE SAID NOTHING. The whole stay, my friends and I felt targeted and discriminated. My friend face even broke out and I pray it wasn't from the bed. I called back Tuesday to talk to the manager and the woman that answered was very nasty and rude. The whole staff is rude and disrespectful. To be in a business, you need to learn how to talk to people with respect. The customer isn't the problem, YOU CHOSE THIS JOB! Yall give scammy vibes because everytime I called and asked for a name of the clerk, they hesitate WHEN REALLY.. WHEN YOU ANSWER THE PHONE, YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO STATE YOUR NAME!! I worked with Choice and IHG for several years and You all should be fired and replaced. The ones I've spoken with is not fit for this business. I pray God be with y'all because him and Karma will get y'all. I will not be returning because this is the WORST experience I've ever had in a hotel IN MY LIFE!!! I will keep yall and that hotel in my prayers!
Edited: I should've looked at the reviews before I booked. Now I think about it, everyone literally mentioned how this hotel has an issue with towels. Now that I remember, Deleesia did make a big deal about towels stating "that's why you're charged $40 more because every room has 2 towels for the 2 guest staying in Double Beds". I was only there from 10:40pm to 11:14am and every minute , it was something. If I can give no...
Read moreThe location of the hotel was convenient for what our family had going on this past weekend, however our stay wasn’t the best. For starters when I booked, I reserved a room for my household family and my in-laws. We were given ONE key per room, most hotels, even the not so great ones, give you two. My father in law went downstairs to get an extra key, but the one he was given didn’t work. Our family gathered in the conference room, each time we walked by to set up, etc the front desk worker kept repeating that we’ll be charged for any spills, which was an allusion to we’re incapable of maintaining cleanliness. We left the conference room in better shape than it was given to us. Not to mention how small pillows were. Mind you this was all Friday. Saturday morning the housekeeper comes around 9am asks if we needed anything, my husband says yes we could use more towels. She never came back with the towels. So later on that evening, my husband goes downstairs and asks for some clean towels. The guy at the front desk makes a big deal out of giving us some clean towels. I don’t want to pull out the race card, but we’re not the only party that experienced unnecessary hassle. There was a traveling basketball team that conversed with us outside after check out that mentioned similar issues and ironically they looked like us. I’m not sure if this hotel has had issues in the past with customers and assumed all of customers like us are the same.
We booked this hotel for the convenience and also this was one of the few that were available for our large group. I give them credit for trying to be friendly, but I personally didn’t feel it was genuine, with that said honestly do not recommend...
