Asked online for fried chicken establishment recommendations and Jordan’s Fish & Chicken was recommended most. I meant a place that sells whole chicken pieces (breast, thigh, etc.), but this place only does chicken strips. Not exactly what I was looking for, but it’s chicken. Actually, it was pretty good chicken. If all we got was the chicken, I would give the place more stars. However, we also got perch, shrimp, fries, and a gyro.
I was not a fan of the perch. I am used to a more thoroughly cooked fish that’s flaky. While my husband says that this fish was done, it was translucent and not flaky. Maybe it’s a perch thing and I’m used to catfish? I don’t know, but I have OCD-type food issues and could not eat it. I did take one bite and the fish itself did not taste bad, just maybe could have used more seasoning for my preference.
The shrimp was good and the fries were ok. I prefer a more fresh-cut-potato fry, but these were satisfactory. My husband got the gyro and said it was good. I did not try it.
The main reason for the 3-star rating was that it was stiflingly hot inside. It was 81° outside and it was cooler out there, by a lot. We tried to eat inside the restaurant, but were getting sweaty and uncomfortable.
Another reason for the rating is that the prices that we paid were not the prices on the menu board. For instance, the board said that the combo that I bought was $13.99, but I was charged $14.55. The gyro that my husband ordered was also priced higher than on the menu board. I understand that prices are rapidly changing right now, but I prefer a more transparent pricing method. The person taking our order could have informed us about the price change at the time of our ordering, or a sign informing us that we should ask about current prices, perhaps. While we would not have changed our orders if we were informed, seeing a different price on the receipt felt a...
Read moreJason and Victor were absolutely amazing! All the way from placing the phone order to the pickup. I am leaving a 1 star bc when I walked in they had absolutely NO air conditioning and it’s 100 degrees out today. It is so incredibly humid and NO ONE should have to work over a stove in these conditions. I left a $16 tip on the credit card and when I wanted to make sure they would receive it, they both shook their heads no. What??!!! Why am I asked to leave a tip if the employees who have cooked, served my food upon pickup will not see it?! To the owner of this location Jordan’s, DO BETTER!!!
Edit….. to the owners response!!!!! The workers get a cash tip. If you pay by card you are automatically asked if you would like to give a tip. With that said….. the manager OR owner received the tip I left and not the TWO workers that were working in an establishment with NO air. I don’t care how many AC units they have the time I went in to pickup my order these were conditions NO ONE should have...
Read moreDecided to take my family to try Jordan's because it wasn't far from the movie theatre where we'd just left the noon show. We weren't disappointed. The food was delicious and very filling. Portions were great, and the food was freshly made and delicious. I even got props from my wife for picking Jordan's to eat. The restaurant was clean and put together well. (Reminds me of a Mom and Pop kinda place) The tables are small, but it was close enough to still talk with our group of 5.
The only Downside was that the dining area was hot, but it was 90+ degrees outside, and people were coming in and out to pick up their takeout orders.
The only thing I could see as an improvement point would be adding fountain drinks. Currently, you get cans or bottled drinks.
We'll be eating here again for sure when we're...
