THIS HOTEL HAS FLEAS, ROACHES,DANGEROUS PARKING,NO INTERNAL LOCKS ON ROOMS, TV'S & CABLE THAT BARELY WORKS & ALLOWS DRUNKS TO HANG AROUND THE POOL. Me and my daughters were in town over the July 15, 2017. We checked in & the employee couldn't be bothered to get off the phone, she checked me into a single room when we paid for a double and didn't format our key cards, so that when we squeezed our tiny Jetta down the narrow drive leading to the small parking lot, we couldn't get the gate to open. We called the front desk and they told me to try and back out but there was a car was behind me so they suggested we go knock on their window and ask them for their card - They seriously wanted me or my daughter to go knock on a strangers window in a narrow, dark alley and ask for their card. Fortunately the lady behind me did help us get in..
When we got to the room it was hot and smelled weird. The carpet was dirty and crunchy so that we could never take off our socks. The double room has a single air conditioner window unit, in the back room, so the front bed was never cool enough but the back bed was too cold. I wanted to leave but was concerned about trying to find another room so quickly, many other places were sold out. We tried to eat around the pool but there were several drunk men walking around, one pulled up a chair asking to eat with us and we tried to ask him to leave and he wouldn't, so we grabbed our food and locked ourselves in our room. As soon as it was dusk, loud music came from the common area, people were sitting on stairs and being loud. I called the front desk but got nothing but a busy signal. We literally locked ourselves in our room and hoped for the best. our door had a simple single lock, no bolt latch like a real hotel. One of the t.v remotes didn't work, the cable worked on some channels, but many had bad signal or would go blank and say "searching for signal" and some channels had no volume. As I searched for something, I noticed that my ankles felt itchy, after this happened a couple times, I looked at my sock and saw black specs. Upon closer inspection, I realized these were fleas. I looked under the comforter and saw more. I was horrified but also literally afraid to leave given the noise and things we'd experienced around the pool. We all slept in our street clothes, on top of the comforter, under the travel blankets we brought. It turns out, we couldn't have left if we would have felt safe living because when we woke up and went to our car at 8, we found the tiny central parking lot OVERFULL OF CARS, with people literally parking throughout the center of the lot, behind all the other cars, so that unless you had the very end space, you'd never be able to get out! Someone had hit my car's mirror, and broken the side light cover. We were 45 min late to pick up a friend at Union Station because of this and the staff acted like we were unreasonable to be upset at this. When we got out of the space, and one again tried to squeeze around the building to the strip parking and exit lane along the back of the building, only to find that once more there were cars parked EVERYWHERE, throughout the towing lane, along the side and in all the spaces. We BARELY squeezed our little car out, with an inch or so between us and the illegally parked vehicles. If there was a medical emergency or fired, IF HELP COULD ENTER.
I wanted my money back and was not going to stay the second night - I called the front desk and they told me there was no refunds. They gave me the number to Frank, the owner. Who hung on me and when I tried to call back, he had someone else answer and say "Franks' phone" - so this slum lord was to scared to talk with me. The staff was largely rude and during our short stay, we saw cops 2 times. I'm calling the state authorities on this horrible excuse for a hotel. PLEASE don't stay here, it is horrible, you'll be bitten by fleas, you'll have no parking, you'll have a dirty room, encounter drunks and have a terrible time. Any other hotel is better - this place needs to...
Read more24 hour shuttle... BS!...$109 a night...Here is my story...When I got to LAX, after I got my suitcase, I called about the shuttle from the hotel (1). The lady on the phone said for me to go to the red sign that said hotel shuttle and then call her back. That was at about 6pm. I went to the sign and called her back (2). I told her I was under the red sign and the letter above it was the letter B. She said "OK, the shuttle will be there in about 15 minutes". I waited and watched all the hotel shuttles come, pick up people, and leave. I still waited, now it has been 30 minutes. I called the lady back (3). She said that the shuttle should be there any minute. So I waited again. Now it has been 50 minutes. I call back again and asked about the shuttle (4). I waited again. Now it has been 1 hour and 15 minutes. I never saw the shuttle stop or drive by at anytime. I called again (5). The lady said she would call the shuttle and find out where he was while I waited on the phone. I got disconnected. I called her back (6). She told me that she could not reach the shuttle driver. I waited again. Now it has been 1 hour and 45 minutes. I called again (7). She told me she had talked to the shuttle driver and he should be there any minute. I waited. I saw the shuttle coming finally and I threw up my had to wave him down. He did not look and drove right on by. I called the hotel again (8). I told her I saw him drive by but he did not stop. She said he would have to turn around and come back through. So I waited again. The shuttle did not come back through. Now it has been 2 hours and 15 minutes. I called the hotel (9) and told them that I was just going to get a taxi and that they were going to pay for it. The lady told me it was OK. I walked to the taxi waiting area and got a taxi. The taxi driver took me to the hotel. It took about 25 minutes to get to the hotel. The shuttle was parked outside the hotel. I paid the taxi driver and then I went inside and took the taxi receipt to the lady at the counter. She looked at it and got the $24 out of the "drawer". I asked if the shuttle would be able to take me back to the airport in the morning. She said "yes, by that time we will have 2 shuttles running". I told her that I needed to leave at 6:45 in the morning. She said the shuttle would be ready for me. No one ever apologized for leaving me stranded at the airport. I got my room key card and went to the room.
The hotel room was absolutely awful! The lobby was dirty with trash on the floor and the smell of mildew was present. In my room there was a rundown brown sofa, sheer curtains over the windows, a mini fridge and a sink. In the next room there was a bed with a bleach stained leopard print cover on it. There was no door and sheer curtains over the windows. The carpet in both rooms was stained and dirty looking. The bathroom was off the bedroom. There were holes in the door on the back side, like someone had punched or kicked it. The bathroom door would not close completely. It was dragging on the floor which kept the door open by about 6 inches. The tile on the floor was stained and dirty looking. The floor had water damage beside the toilet and sink and I could see the sub-floor, it was stained from the water. The sink cabinet had a large hole punched or kicked in it on the front. The tub shower was stained and looked dirty. The shower curtain had mold or mildew growing on it as well as several spots on the walls of the shower. There was no curtain on the small window on the shower wall. There was mold or mildew around the window and the lock was broken. This hotel looked like the kind you see in movies where the rooms are rented by the hour.
I missed my plane because the shuttle was not available in...
Read moreThis will probably be removed by them since you usually only see pristine photos that quite honestly are either super old or photoshopped and they have a reserved spot for their photo marketing guy. This is the worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune to book. When I booked it as part of a package through a travel site, the pictures looked ok so I thought I'd give it a chance. First red flag upon arrival was realizing that I had booked LA Adventure Hotel, but this clearly said Crown. Business cards inside for LA Adventure with same address indicated there had been a name change. Second red flag was that you had to knock to get buzzed in & press a button to be able to leave. It wasn't as bad once we realized it was probably to keep homeless people out. Third red flag was the extremely rude younger woman who refused to even take our name for the reservation we'd had for months & pre-paid for, even though we hadn't missed check-in times at all, just dismissed us with "well we just give the rooms to whoever gets here first til we run out". "Even though we have a reservation?!" "Mm yup". WTF. So we leave for a bit & then call the number listed in our itinerary where a different woman picks up saying our reservation is still on file, no we didn't miss check-in, yes the room is there. So we go back & get the key etc. Get to the room & freak out. The room looks NOTHING like the photos online. Gaps all around the door, exposed wiring, "mystery" stains on the couch that could really only be one thing. The bedroom appeared to have a small blood stain on the lampshade & curtain & there was a mystery splatter on the wall that was either blood, poop, or some exploded beverage. Thankfully no bed bugs. The bathroom had rusted out lights. The soap was a dispenser inside the worn down shower. There were holes in the wall that hadn't been patched up. Same with the door. The front door didn't even seal completely. There were small gaps on the sides & a larger gap underneath plenty large enough for whatever bugs wanted to come in. We stayed out away from this place as long as possible. We returned only for a few hours to nap until the airport opened again & got the heck out of dodge. The only people who stay here are people looking for "a good night" with a, er, "local", & unsuspecting out-of-towners who have been duped by their website...
