How did IHOP perform during my recent visit? A few items of note: -- I have multiple visits to one IHOP location -- I have made a total of six (6) visits -- My visits cover 11/1/21 - 12/2/21 -- Orders placed using IHOP's mobile app -- Same items on orders 1, 2, 3, 4, 6. -- Order #5, same item + holiday pancakes -- Each Order: Cheeseburger w/ side salad
Summary: The most consistent aspect over each of my six orders: extreme inconsistency.
I ordered the same menu item each time. On six different orders, I received...six... different...orders. This is not a typo.
What Were These Differences: -- Order #2: side salad missing. Paid for a 'premium' upgrade, an additional $1.99. I received NO salad.
-- Order #3: side salad missing. Paid for a 'premium' upgrade, an additional $1.99. I received NO salad...AGAIN! This is twice...IN A ROW.
-- Order #4: Cheeseburger had no hamburger bun. Yes, you read that correctly...no hamburger bun. IHOP decided to substitute in plain sliced white bread. Did they run out of buns? I assume so. They said NOTHING to me. This was unacceptable. This order was the one that really offended me. I have NEVER had a restaurant do something so outlandish.
Order #5: Well, I FINALLY received the cheeseburger and side salad...as ordered. However, I learned not to celebrate too early. As I started to walk out, I checked for the pancakes...NOPE! I had to wait another 10+ minutes. My wait was made even more uncomfortable when a fellow customer who was waiting grew irate...started barking at a worker. Within 45 seconds, IHOP's calling 911.
Order #6: Most recent order...I arrived at the restaurant at the allotted time, told the worker I was there to pick up my order. 20 minutes later, no one has helped me...No one has given me a status...no one has explained anything to me...nothing. I finally found another worker to ask. I had to repeat my order info again...WTH? I finally got my order, but no ranch dressing. I was so burned out on having to check and double-check my orders, that I just told myself to forget about the damn dressing and just head back to the hotel.
Now that I have put all of this down, I'm amazed at how almost every time, every order, something happened...and whatever did happen, it never cost IHOP anything...and somehow cost me EVERYTHING.
I'm BEYOND exhausted. Part of my exhaustion is knowing that if IHOP would have simply exercised a little bit of care...and spent 10 seconds doing a double-check on my orders, 90% of the order issues I experienced would not...
Read moreFirst of all I came in to order food to go on Wednesday. I ordered a veggie omelette with French toast and I ordered salmon and vegetables. To begin the veggie omelette the eggs were like paper overcooked and dry. They didn't add any cheese to it at all and I made sure I checked my order prior to leaving, and they did not make my salmon and veggie play correctly. They added rice and didn't put the broccoli. So the server make sure she changed that for me and I had to wait an additional 7 minutes for them to take the rice off and to put the broccoli on the plate. Then when I got home to eat the food the salmon was overcooked and dry. I bought The Omelette for a little old lady 87 years old, and she did not like The Omelette because it was not made out of real eggs and it was completely overcooked with no cheese. Called the restaurant spoke with a manager Melissa, and she assured me I could come in 2 days and get the meal prepared again. I came on that Friday night no one was there to greet me. Once I did get her attention and explain to her what it was that I wanted differently on the plates it took me over 45 minutes to get my food. They were understaffed there was a concert they weren't greeting people they weren't being customer service. The groups of people were served their food and seeded before I was served my food and within those 45 minutes and I had to ask her to get my food together because I was here before the groups of people that came after the concert. It was a total disaster. The eggs were made like over easy eggs with the yolks busted instead of scrambled prior to being put in the omelette. And I have yet to taste the salmon as of yet. Melissa was the manager and she didn't look to be doing anything while there was more than 20 people in the front waiting to be even their names put on the list for seating. I had to tell some of the other service workers where the list was and get them to help set the people and I don't even work...

I went at around 1am this morning and there was ONLY 4 tables with no more than 2 or 3 people per table including mines (only 2 people) with 2 waitresses working.. the 3 tables before us already were eating their food so it was no urgency for attending to anyone else and it took over 15 minutes just for some water( the only drink we wanted besides my black tea) I purchased the slim fit breakfast which consists of 2 Turkey bacon, egg whites(I wanted cheese added on top), wheat toast and fresh fruit... when I finally received my food no cheese on my eggs I had to ask her twice for the cheese for her response was.." are you sure? It's $1.99 extra? " Ummm yes! If I didn't want it I wouldn't have asked! Then when we got our toast it was cold, no butter, no jelly, just the freakin bread! When she brought me the butter it was so cold and hard that the knife could barely break it apart so we had to ask her to warm that then I had to call her back to ask for my cup of fruit and when I got that it was only about 10 little pieces (1 purple grape, 1 piece of pineapple, and the rest honeydew melon)... I got tired of basically asking for everything I was paying for individually so I just asked for an to go container, paid for our food and left... while we had to wait over 10 minutes to pay for our food I noticed a gentleman's burger sit on the serving counter for 10 minutes until the other guy he was with food was ready to get served together at the same time.. this is my first and LAST Visit with them and it's a shame because they are only 1/2 mile away...
