Where to begin. We were staying due to my grandpas funeral and had to book at the last min. I normally read reviews but saw they had a high guest rating and didn’t give it another thought. On the outside, it looks great! Minor flaws here and there. When you walk inside, the lobby looks clean, the shields are overkill, and it smelled ok. Check in was weird. We weren’t greeted, the blonde/red head just sat there and blankly stared at us until we spoke to him. He was also playing a handheld video game. He did not want to be there. Upon entering our room, HEAVY MOLD SMELL, almost knocked us out. I went downstairs and had the same experience with the sir at the desk. We asked for a different room and he said there wasn’t one. He didn’t offer any solutions and he seemed like he didn’t want me to bother him. He even said that there was no maintenance until the next day. We had tried calling multiple times before going back down and the phone did not ring and then hung up. Our room phone did not work either. The room was dirty, had cracked throughout the walls, stained bathrooms, and we had no toiletries set up. The pillows didn’t even have any covers on them. I asked for different pillows and they didn’t have any. We went down for breakfast and there was zero safety protocol. Not that it matters, but the pool was as green as the grass should be. There were used towels lying everywhere and none in stock to use. Not that you would need it since you can’t swim in the green pool. The next day, we went downstairs to see if another person could help us. I was met by a younger gentlemen with a dangling earring. He was definitely nicer. He checked the phones and said there was nothing wrong with them. I tested the calls right in front of him and they still didn’t ring. He just apologized and tried to hand me a card. I gave it back because there was nothing they could do, so why would the Asst manager help me. Normally, what the staff says directly comes from management. Honestly, I feel really bad for the staff. They seem like they hate life. You can tell that the owner of this hotel does not care about the employees, let alone the customers. They care more about their decor in the lobby, then they should about the health and satisfaction. This hotel is barely beautiful on the outside and unsanitary and unhealthy on the inside. This needs to be a...
Read moreI only give the HOUSEKEEPERS 2 stars because they have no sense to take their kind selves elsewhere. This hotel is the second worst I have seen and I am brand new to Texas I still have an out of state license. I came here for an emergency and was immediately met with roaches and bad attitudes because I am struggling to bounce back from a landlord that has caused me hell and another hotel that robbed me and made me stand on the fact that I’m not wrong. I have stayed here for a month with no options of going anywhere else. I am paying out of pocket and having to figure it out day by day. They waited until my longest leg of pay was over to make me check out and check back in to put me in a room that had been broken into from the outside. The windows were shattered. They keep putting me out of my room for hours to exterminate with pesticides that smell awful. I asked for a different room because there’s no lid on the toilet the tub is dirty and the tv doesn’t work. They have made me sit here and wait for them to fix these problems. Their staff is over worked and sent from Heaven but the owners and the staff all except for the sweet very young lady at the front desk. Everyone else is trash they are discriminatory and a nuisance to people who need their help not to mention their whole family is living inside the hotel started a garden out back and everything to you would think in an emergency where I’m already paying with everything I have and can’t afford to get back home 40 miles away. You’d think they would treat people better. But it’s ok God sits very high looking in all the low places and I pray he finds mercy to give them all. They have trained their young staff to be heartless prying in business when it’s clear most of us are already struggling. I’m over people in Texas acting as if it can’t happen to them as well. I will be adding this claim to my lawsuit after all this I have to stay up watching my back instead of being able to relax and figure...
Read moreUnfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. I ignored the reviews beforehand — and I truly regret it.
Yes, I understand the hotel is old, and that’s okay — but the real problem is that it’s very dirty, broken down, and smells bad. It’s not about everything being brand new, but there should at least be basic cleanliness and upkeep. The carpet was stained and had a strong odor, the furniture was broken and torn, and the walls were painted in awful, clashing colors. Neutral tones would have made the space feel much more pleasant.
The carpet, in particular, should be replaced with laminate flooring. Carpets don’t get cleaned properly between guests — they’re just vacuumed — and that leaves behind stains, odors, and an overall sense of uncleanliness.
As for the breakfast, it was extremely disappointing. Please don’t be misled by the promise of a “free breakfast” — it’s just waffles, coffee, some bread, and eggs that are usually gone before most guests arrive. One morning, we arrived an hour before breakfast ended, and there were already no eggs left. It felt more like a trick than an actual amenity.
Now, the good parts: I want to thank the staff, who were very kind and helpful. When we asked to change our room due to cleanliness issues, they accommodated us and moved us to a cleaner room — though still within the same old, worn-down conditions. Housekeeping did a good job of changing towels and emptying trash daily, which I appreciated. Also, the towels were new, white, and clean, which is a big plus.
Lastly, this property is supposed to be part of the Radisson family (just a more affordable version), but honestly, it damages the Radisson name...
