Hotel Review: Best Western Cy-Fair, Cypress, TX Dates of Stay: June 27–29, 2025 Reviewer: Michelle O'Conner
While my check-in experience at Best Western Cy-Fair was smooth and the swimming pool was truly phenomenal, my overall stay left me deeply unsettled—particularly regarding safety and room conditions.
From the beginning, the parking lot behind the building felt unsafe, with strangers lingering throughout the night. Although there was a police presence, it seemed to be due to suspected criminal activity or previous incidents involving vehicle damage or theft. The atmosphere made it feel like this hotel was simply misplaced in a high-risk area.
Upon entering my room, my mother and I discovered the deadbolt lock didn’t work, and the connecting door to the adjacent room wouldn’t shut properly. That’s when my worst fear came true. I reported the issue, and while the police responded promptly—and even documented the malfunction themselves—the hotel’s solution was to have us, females traveling alone, wait until morning to have the lock repaired. We spent the entire night unable to sleep, worried for our safety.
The next day, maintenance came to fix the lock, but I discovered more problems. The carpet was soaked from the leaking refrigerator, and the room had a strong moldy odor. The thermostat was malfunctioning, displaying a “low battery” alert and wouldn’t allow temperature adjustments. These conditions made Friday night extremely uncomfortable and restless.
During the day, the hotel was quieter, but I was left wondering if any security cameras covered the pool area—a must-have for guest safety.
Upon checkout, I requested a printed receipt and let the front desk know I’d be returning shortly after placing my bags in the car. To my concern, my receipt was left unattended on the counter. Fortunately, I returned quickly and picked it up before anyone else could. The receptionist nervously asked if I’d retrieved it—clearly aware this was a breach of privacy and security.
I booked this stay through Expedia, and unfortunately, they did not allow a transfer or relocation. In this instance, Expedia failed to protect their customer from a clearly unsafe and unsuitable lodging environment.
My final thoughts: This hotel needs serious improvements in guest safety, security, and maintenance. While I appreciate the amenities like the pool and a courteous check-in, I cannot in good conscience recommend Best Western Cy-Fair to other travelers—especially solo or female guests —until these issues are thoroughly...
Read moreI booked a Suite for 3 adults for business trip. We got there and they wanted $100 cash deposit for incidentals and he said I could use the ATM but I dont carry an ATM card nor do I carry cash. ATMs like that in a lobby are there to profit who ever owns the ATM, in my opinion, that is why they want a cash deposit instead of using my card. After going round and round my son had like 45 bucks and that was enough, they also didnt want us to have animal in our room and wanted to charge extra for her, anyways... we get to our room and there are no sheets or blankets or pillows for the sleeper sofa so we call the front desk and he informs us housekeeping is already gone and he doesn't have access to the line cloths, so we go to Walmart to buy a blanket for my son to sleep under. There were only 2 towels and no wash clothes. That night when my husband was taking out his service animal for a potty break, staff commented, "yall are checking out tomorrow, right? " which is rude and they didnt even want our service animal there. Which my husband served 21 years in the United States Air Force and has a service animal to help with some of his issues. This was not a good experience from a Best Western. We always stay at BW when we travel, always. May have to start rethinking...
Read moreTHANK YOU APRIL for such great hospitality! Because of you, I will come back. Overall I never stayed at a Best western where you have a manager operating the business and her husband underneath her working as an employee. How impenetrable could this be. The guy that works at night is very rude and not helpful at all. Any issues I had when I first checked in, I brought it to his attention. He showed no remorse, and later I found out from the gentleman that works in the morning that he’s the manager husband. I was assured that this hotel was renovated through the mentioning in the app. The entrance doors are broken, breakfast is bland, plain and consists of the same thing every morning. No variety of snacks or drinks to choose from, the elevator is broken, you can’t understand anything the housekeepers are saying; my room was never cleaned, I had to clean my room myself. The hot water is lukewarm. This hotel suppose to be a smoke free hotel, but you have the manger inside the hotel vaping. When booking...
