Mattress Firm Knightdale — Hotel in Knightdale

My husband and I purchased a mattress, box spring, and mattress cover from this Mattress Firm location about 2 weeks ago. We had a great in-store experience - Hamilton was very helpful without being overly salesy. He helped us find exactly what we needed and answered all of our questions. I feel like we got a pretty good deal on what we purchased and there’s a 10-year warranty (and 120-night trial period) which is great. 5 stars for our excellent experience at the Knightdale store!

BUT, we also paid for delivery, which was an absolute nightmare. I’d give 0 stars for that if I could. We were supposed to receive our delivery on Friday between 8pm and 10pm. At 10:45pm, I received a phone call that the delivery truck had broken down, they were running 2 hours behind, and it was my responsibility to call the store in the morning when they open to reschedule. I did; however, they could not reschedule until the items were taken off the truck. That took a couple hours. Received a voicemail that my delivery was rescheduled for Sunday between 1pm and 8pm. Then heard that my window was narrowed down to 6:30pm-8:30pm, but it wasn’t until 9:51pm that I got a call that their crew was on their way. On a Sunday night, they arrived over 1.5 hours AFTER the end of their expected delivery window. That’s unacceptable! Not sure if they're scheduling too many deliveries in one day (the first day, I was stop #12 and the second time, stop #11) or if their folks start delivering too late in the day or what. Really disappointed in the delivery service all...

So I tried calling a National Brand store three times and spent over 20 mins waiting for the salesperson to come to the phone. Never came so I drove 22 miles to check if a particular mattress was available. Got there and found a bunch of salespeople walking around looking yo help people but not answer phone. Hated their mattresses but felt I might need to compromise to get one.

I headed home and stopped by where my son bought a mattress. Wow. I was overwhelmed by selection and prices too high for me. Then Dan came by. Professional and approachable. Asked me questions. Showed me several mattresses to meet my needs and price range. AND educated me. He did not push the product he wanted to sell but allowed me to choose. And gave me an excellent price and great deal of the white glove treatment and a gift to use after it was delivered.

I have been in retail management for about 40 years. So I can appreciate how I was treated. Not like a King but I was treated the way I wanted to be treated. I was appreciated.

Mattress shopping is never easy but Dan in the Knightdale store gave me ALL the information I needed to make a decision. We had not begun our mattress shopping until a family member went to the Mattress Firm in Knightdale(only planning to shop) and Dan helped them find the perfect mattress for them at a price that was honestly, 2nd to none. After hearing about their experience, I decided to stop in and see if they stocked anything we would be interested in. Dan answered EVERY question I had and gave me time to think on my own while I made my final decision. Dan worked harder than I expected to sell me the mattress at a reasonable price and I bought it. Overall, I would say this was the most pleasant mattress shopping experience I've ever had. The store has a nice selection of mattresses in all models(foam, innerspring, hybrid, etc). The store was well lit, clean and very well sanitized. I don't give 5 star reviews very often but this experience...
