Took my wife here last night for our 9 year anniversary. So needless to say it was so suppose to be a special night. She ordered a medium rare ribeye w/sweet potato and side salad and I ordered a medium rare tbone w/sweet potato and side salad. We also ordered the rattler jalepeno bites as am appetizer. After 40 minute wait we asked waitress about update on salads ans appetizer and she was surprises they had not brought out yet. She came back with the appetizer within 3 minutes and apologized saying that they were going to bring it out with the steaks, makes no sense as why would you bring an appetizer out with the main entrée? It was warm and fresh but overcooked. Within 2 minutes of getting the appetizer our main entrée was brought to the table. The steaks were both overcooked beyond medium better yet medium rare and sweet potatos were dried beyond a 2x microwave then flash oven crimping. $37 for each steak, so we sent back as it should not be that hard to cook a medium rare steak. Once we sent them back, the salads finally came to the table, yes after appetizer and entrée. Another 25 minutes pass by and then our steaks were brought back to the table. But my plate has no sweet potato although my wife had hers. So I ask for my sweet potato that was part of the meal to be brought to our table, once finished with the steak the sweet potatoe made it out. The manager never once came over to apologize, our waitress did in fact offer to give us a free dessert although we were not interested in a dessert at this point nor were we interested in getting anything free we just expected alot more attention give to the cooking of a meal when a steak and sweet potato meal cost $37 each. We also would imagine a manager or supervisor or somebody would cone to our table and at very minimum apologize or try to make it right. Between our wait for the table, wait for food cooktime and table delivery we spent over 3 hours in here and over $135.00 after tip. For the product and service that waa delivered we very well could have waited half the time, spent half the money, and been satisfied with Applebee's right next door. Management, if your going to pride yourself on being a nicer end steakhouse you might want to carry yourself as one and protect your image when customers are not satisfied otherwise people such as myself will be glad to spend my hard earned money elsewhere. Absolutely ruined our anniversary plans, freaking...
Read moreMy daughter an I went here for lunch and the food was perfect per usual. The server was not friendly at all. When we first sat down she passed our table twice without acknowledging us. When she finally got to the table she never informed us of her name and just came across curt . I initially ignored these signs and just wrote it off, maybe it’s not personal . However; after ordering and giving her the menus back she snatched the menu out of my hand. So disrespectful, I asked “why she would do that?” She played victim like she had no idea what she just did. Not offering an apology, her exact response was “you handed it to me” which was the worst reply because yes I did hand it to you a you aggressively snatched it out of my hand. After the food was brought to the table she never came back to check on us and I refused to make a spectacle inside the restaurant. The manager was walking around so I stopped her to speak about this and she did apologize for the waiters behavior, offered another server an handled the situation appropriately which was much appreciated but we requested our food to go at that point because this was not a good experience , unprofessional and just distasteful on the servers behalf to treat anyone like this. My Husband and I have take out here every Friday an the food is always great but this experience was very disappointing. The servers name may have been Sarah per the manager, she was a bit hesitant to disclose the waitress name so I’m hoping this is her actual name. I’ve work at a local dental office in the area for the past 12yrs and I will be sure to share this experience with my patients and colleagues. I will not support a business that has employees that does not treat...
Read moreTerrible experience, we left with no food. Our waitress took our order. We ask for butter no honey butter and she came with honey butter. No straws for the tea so I flagged her down to get that. Kept waiting, she bought out rolls and no appetizer yet, 35 minutes and still no appetizer. I flagged her down again and ask what was taking so long on the appetizer. The other booth next to us didn’t have to wait at all for anything and we were seated before them. The waitress stated it should be out or coming out then started to leave us turned back around and came back to the table , looking at her notes and ask us what did we order for an appetizer. That was it. What was she writing down when we placed our order. I asked her really, you just stated it should be coming out. We were not willing to wait any longer. I told her we were leaving and we had ordered the onion. We just left and dined else where. We did tell the hostess up front that we were leaving and she said okay. My husband was trying to explain to her what happened and she said okay. We were willing to pay for the tea and it was weak tea at that . Not like it has been in the past. This is the second time this has happened in the same booth. What does it take to get good service at this particular restaurant? When you place an order the other end should know what you ordered because they supposedly wrote it down. We tip 20 & 25 percent. We have respect for waitresses and waiters but the service needs to be top notch, which was not happening at this place and time. July 2/23 Saltgrass Restaurant at...
